DAY 30
This is the final challenge!
Writing Tip #30: Remember every character has a unique voice. Even a line as simple as "I went to the store today" will sound different and/or be delivered differently based on who is saying it. Remember to write in your character's voice and find a specific voice to reflect them best.
Daily Vocab Word: Granulate - (verb) To make into small pieces or grains. I.e., "Sugar was granulated for the recipe."
Writing Challenge Improvement Area: Characters & Descriptions
Writing Challenge #30: Point Of View
One of the toughest parts of writing characters is establishing clear differences in the different points of views throughout the story, so today, let's challenge that!
Think of two characters. They can be your characters, completely made up characters you thought of five seconds ago, or pre-existing characters (i.e., Harry Potter and Ron).
Did you choose two characters? Good!
Write a short description of anything you want from the perspective of the first character you thought of (it can be first or third person as long as it's, in general, in only one character's perspective, as you can write third person limited). The description can be of a forest, a spaceship, a bedroom, etc. Make sure you describe it in their voice.
After you're done writing a short description, write a description of the same place, but this time from the perspective of the other character. What differences will their be in the description? How will character B describe the same environment? Those are questions to ask yourself while writing the descriptions.
Mark here when the challenge is completed --->
Happy writing!
