DAY 26
Writing Tip #26: When writing your plot, don't be scared to ask yourself "But why is this happening?" Sometimes questioning yourself is the best way to edit yourself. It's easy as writers to have cool scenes in our heads, but we don't know how to get to those scenes. We can also get greedy for emotions and have emotional moments, but the reasons they're happening don't really have much significance, so consider questioning yourself every step of the way. If you don't have a solid answer for why something is happening, you may want to reconsider why you're writing it.
Daily Vocab Word: Brazen - (adjective) Excessively bold, brash. I.e., "Critics condemned the novelist's brazen attempt to plagiarize Hemingway's story."
Writing Challenge Improvement Area: Self-Improvement
Writing Challenge #26: Free Write!
This is the one and only time in this book where I have a challenge specific to your current writing.
For this challenge, set a timer for 15-30 minutes depending on how much time you have. After setting a timer, start writing any work-in-progress story you have. If you have an ongoing novel, work on it for 15-30 minutes. Even if it's just outlining a few chapters, that can be a major help.
Mark here when the challenge is completed --->
Happy writing!
