Chapter 13

I moaned awake with a slight headache forming in my head. I blinked my eyes open, having them feel like I was asleep all day. I opened my eyes completely as I looked around, seeing myself inside a bedroom, on a compy bed. I was wrapped up in blankets, with my arms out on my stomach. The ceiling had a glass chandelier with little lights that reminded me of candles. I looked around, seeing a desk on the side of me, with pens and different things displayed on the top of it. Next to it was a big window that showed the clouds that drifted across the blue sky. Light brown curtains framed around the window, left opened with a white see-through cloth, sketched with white designs for a fancy effect. I looked to the left of me, seeing a door with a light that surrounded it. It was grey double doors with silver bars as handles. I looked at it as I started to sit up, confused about everything. "Where am I?" I asked myself as I looked around. The room was painted a slight teal color, which looked yellowish from the sun. It was quiet in the room, not in a creepy way, but a calming way. I looked down at the bed, seeing a round bed with a blue comforter. The comforter was designed with black vines and roses, spread almost like a web. There were about five different pillows behind me, cradling me in the bed to keep me from falling off the bed. I studied the ceiling as I found myself drifting more into confusion. I sat up as I looked around the room more. There were little vines that were engraved into the walls, painted a thinly black, to stand out from the rest of the wall. I didn't see the vines at first, due to the shadows that the curtain left.

I studied the room more as I sat up, trying to recognize where I am. I looked at the window as I studied through the curtain, seeing a little window seat that was made into the wall. I saw a little fluffy pillow, that reminded me of a certain pomeranian form. "Roen?" I asked, as I pulled off the covers and got out of bed. I studied the pillow as I walked closer to it. A little rattle entered the room as I walked. I squinted at it as my eyes widened. "ROEN! It's great that your around" I said, as I ran closer, but fell onto the floor. The rattle got louder as I ran and stopped when I fell. I flinched as I heard footsteps walking into the hallway, closer to the door. I looked at the door as the sound of unlocking entered the outside. At that moment, I was too scared to move, never mind the fact that I was chained to the bed. I watched as the door opened and a familiar being sighed. "You up El...la," the voice said, as dad walked into the room, with Roen right behind him and stopped in the doorway. I looked up at dad as I studied him with anger. I huffed as I started to get up from the floor, finally able to move. Dad huffed as he spoke. "Your brother and chains," he said, as he started to walk closer, pulling something out of his pocket.

Without thought, I pushed onto the floor and shot ice out at him, freezing his feet to the floor. I raized my hand as I made the ice crawl up his legs and onto his arms. I stopped as I started to calm down from everything, focusing on my breath as I relaxed. Dad sighed as he looked at the ice. "You're stressing too much," he said, as the ice turned into water and melted down around his feet. Now, dad was standing in a dark circle of carpet. Dad walked over as he pulled something out of his pocket. "Relax. I just wanted you home for a while. Vampires are still crawling around and I want you safe," he said as he knelt down by my feet. I stayed silent as I studied the carpet, not knowing how to respond. The rattling echoed in the room, as I felt the shackle unlock and I was released from it's grip. A little throb pounded in my ankle as I looked at it. I shifted in a more comfortable stance, as I rubbed where it hurt. "He didn't hurt you except for putting it too tight, did he?" dad asked, as I just studied my feet. I felt the anger flow within me, as I kept quiet. Dad huffed as he spoke. "Ella, please answer me. This isn't the time to ignore me" he demanded as I looked in another direction. I didn't bother responding. The chains rattled some more, due to dad taking them off the bed. "Ella, you need to respond. Even if it's just a slight nod" he said, as the door opened. "Please excuse me" Roen's voice came into the room. I looked up to see Roen standing behind dad a little bit, wanting dad's attention. Dad turned in his direction as he spoke. "Something the matter? I'm a little busy at the moment" he said, as he completely stood up.

Roen walked more in the room as he spoke again. "May I please talk with Ella? I will let you know the details later." Dad huffed as he started to walk closer to the door, rolling up the shackles. "You may. I'll be in my office if you need me. Oh and Ella, please stay for at least a night. Then I'll let you return to the Tachibana's after school tomorrow if you behave" he said, as I looked at him, giving him a deadly look. Once again, I didn't reply. Dad huffed as he started to walk out. "I'll be in my office, Roen," he said, as he shut the door behind him. I looked at the door as he walked out, then tilted my head down at the floor in silence. Roen sighed as the bed shook a bit, due to him getting comfortable. "How are you feeling right now?" Roen asked as I looked at the door. "I'm feeling ok. Just angry" I said, in a quiet sort of tone. Roen cracked a little smile as he spoke. "That's better than I thought. I thought Cameron was gonna keep you asleep. But your dad didn't want to do that. He just wants to make sure your ok" he explained.

I finally managed to sit on the bed as I stretched out my legs, leaning on the foot railing. "What does he want?" I asked as Roen shrugged. "I dunno. It's hard to tell. He says he wants to protect you from the vampires. But he's giving me a feeling like he's going to take over again," he explained. I huffed loudly as I leaned my head back. "Your starting to have that feeling too?" I asked as Roen turned to me. "I always had that feeling Ella. Right when we left the immortal world," he explained. I looked at him as I studied him closely. "If you knew, why didn't you tell Lindo?" I asked as Roen looked at the door. "Right when we came to the human world, I was too busy finding a place to hide my kids. The rest of the committee doesn't know their here too," he explained. I sighed as I looked at the door. "Oh, that's right. I forgot you brought your kids" I said, lowering my tone just in case the other's were right behind the door. I held my arms in remembrance of the claws. "Your son's scared me by the way," I said, not knowing what to say. Roen looked at me as he sighed. "Sorry. They were always like that. They used to scare Eden when she was little," he explained.  I looked at the door as I tucked my legs into me. "It's ok. I've been a little jumpy lately. So that's probably a part of it."

Roen sat down by me as he got comfortable in his spot. "You going to be ok?" he asked as I sighed. "As ok as I'll ever be. I've been feeling weird ever since the committee came back. That's why I've been missing a lot of school." Roen sighed. "You've been stressing a lot. I can tell" he said, as he looked back at the door. I sighed as I thought to myself for a moment, then it hit me. I got up as I started to look around. "Where is it located?  Haven't been in this building for a while" I said, as I started to search the room. Roen looked at me with a confused look on his face. "What are you doing Ella?" he asked as I stopped. "I need a phone. I want to make a phone call to Lindo," I said, as I continued to search.  Roen looked at me. "You think your dad would let you talk to the Tachibana's?" he asked as I sighed. "Probably not. But we need to send a warning to him. Let him know that the committee is up to something. Then I need to find Aaron and get out of here," I explained as Roen sighed. "I can help you out of here, but I don't know where Shiki is keeping Aaron. Or know what's happening to him" he said.

I looked at Roen in concern. "I'm sorry, I can't leave Aaron here. We don't know the reason why they wanted us home, or why they came back here. But I feel like it's not a good thing. I just need to figure out where he's being held" I said, as I walked up to the door. I silently turned the handle, then opened it to see it crack open. "Funny, he left it unlocked," I said, as Roen sighed. "Yeah, he told me to watch you, so I'm guessing that he trusted me to stop you" he replied. I chuckled as he spoke. "It's funny that they trust you. You let us escape last time" I said, as he cracked a smile. "Weird, isn't it," he said, as I opened the door more and peaked down the hallway, seeing that the coast was clear.  I carefully started to step out into the hallway as I continued to search around. "I think we're in the clear," I said, as I continued to look around.  Roen shut the light out and stepped into the hallway as well. "Still got to be careful Ella. We don't know where any of them are. Or where your brother went to" he explained as I looked back at him for a second. "Yeah, don't want to run into him at the moment. I don't feel like going to sleep again" I said, as I got more comfortable with my stance.

I started to walk more into the hallway as I looked around some more. "Ok, so where do you think they'd keep him?" I asked, as Roen closed the door and locked it again.  I glanced at him funny. "Why are you locking it again?" I asked as Roen looked at me. "So they think I'm done and left," he explained.   I took a sigh as I pointed at the door. "Dad left it unlocked. Don't you think it'll be suspicious?" he asked as Roen shook his head. "Your dad told me to lock it when I was done. He'll think I'm done and you fell asleep" he said, as he looked down the hallway behind us. I looked in the opposite direction as I sighed. "Alright, where do we start?" I asked, as Roen started to walk to the right of the hallway. "Follow me. I think I can track Aaron" he said, as he shifted to his pomeranian form and started to walk down the hallway. I followed him without any questions, knowing it was best for the moment.
