The Jarred Girl (Mushy98)

The Jarred Girl

Like juice

Like water

Like spices

Like pickles

I am jarred.

A girl

A daughter

A girl

A mother

A girl

A sister

A girl

A friend

A girl

A soul

A girl

A wife

They jarred me in.

I am a girl

Who wants to say

That I am a girl.

That I am a strong girl.

That I am stronger than this glass jar.

That I am stronger than those girls and women who jarred me in.

They jarred me in when they got the impression that I was a parasite

As I was,

Pestering them to teach me

How to read and how to write

Wishing to speak through what I will write one day.

They weren't strong enough to have accepted it

But were weak enough to have jarred me in.

Like juice

Like water

Like spices

Like pickles

They think I am going to die oh so easily

That am going to suffer from some kind of disease

Which has the power to kill a parasite.

I might die

Today

Tomorrow

Or in the next moment.

But,

My soul.

She will not leave this jar.

In fact, she will stay in here for the next century,

And the one after that;

Until each and every girl on this planet

Gets her deserved freedom from jarred lives

Until each and every girl on this planet

Attains strength.

Until the end of time.

I dedicate this to all those girls and women alike who lived in the medieval ages. As education rights were not open to women in many countries back then, social reforms and movements(led by women) have changed all that to what we girls and women can do today. So thank you Brave Souls.:'))))
