Chapter 12
"No! Lucinda! Please no!" A few nurses had to drag Peter out of the room.
"I'm so sorry, Peter..." Ned said as he and Michelle wrapped Peter in a huge hug.
"I-I need to call, Mr. Stark..." Peter dialed the number, tears streaming down his cheeks. "M-Mr. Stark?"
"What's wrong kid?" Tony could hear his sobs and was immediately worried out of his mind.
"Luci's gone... sh-she just flatlined..." Peter said and there was just silence on the other side for a while until he heard crashing and the line went dead.
Minutes later, all the Avengers were at the hospital and Peter was sobbing on the ground.
"It's gonna be okay, kid... at least she isn't suffering anymore..." Tony hugged Peter and let him cry.
"It's all my fault! Luci would still be here if it wasn't for me!"
"That's not true." Ned said comfortingly.
"Yes it is! It's my fault she was shot! You can't tell me that it's not my fault when everyone knows it is!" Peter trembled as he sobbed.
The nurse came out after a while and Peter just expected to be told that she was gone.
"She is stable and awake but barely," The nurse said and Peter pushed his way in. Dez and Steve did the same thing.
Luci just felt a hand on her and she gave a soft moan of pain. "Who are you?"
"N-no, Luci... you have to remember me..." Peter felt like crying even harder.
"P-Peter?" She recognized his voice but everything was so blurry and she couldn't tell who it was by sight.
"Oh thank the Lord!" Peter gently hugged her and cried into her neck.
"What happened?" Her voice was so hoarse and raspy.
"You were shot because of me... I'm so sorry..." Peter looked at her and caressed her cheek.
"Peter, don't be sorry. I'm sure it wasn't all your fault," Luci assured him and gently kissed his cheek.
"Ms. Rogers needs her rest," The nurse said and Peter nodded.
"Okay but can I get a kiss?" He asked innocently.
"Nope, I'm still mad at you," Luci grinned a little and Peter frowned.
"Okay..." He sulked away and Luci giggled at his adorableness.

Once Luci was discharged, her teachers gave her a pass on the work since she was ahead still anyways. She was able to graduate now but she took extra classes so she would be able to stay in school to be with Peter.
Luci went to her home in Queens eventually and Peter was with her.
"Are you sure you don't need anything?" Peter asked again.
"The only thing I need is my boyfriend to shut up and snuggle with me." Luci just wanted snuggles.
Peter laid down on her bed and wrapped his arms around her, letting her bury her face in his chest.
"Mine mine mine," Peter smiled cheekily as he held her close to him securely and protectively.
"I'm glad to be yours," Lucinda said softly and she smiled when he kissed her forehead. When he was gonna kiss her though, she held him back. "Not yet."
"But Luci!" Peter whined and she giggled.
"Be lucky you're getting snuggles," Luci teased him as she got her face close to his but didn't kiss him.
"Fine... only because I know what I did was wrong..." Peter frowned and looked down. "You hadn't even wanted to give me a chance... I don't deserve this chance..."
"Stop that. You deserve it and I don't want anyone else," Lucinda murmured as she looked into his eyes.
"I just... I hate myself so much... I can't believe I allowed myself to use you like that... that was a really shitty move," Peter sighed softly and he blinked back tears.
"Peter, don't hate yourself over me," Luci said and pressed her lips to his quickly.
He held her close to him and chuckled lightly. "I thought you weren't gonna kiss me."
"Shut up and kiss me, Parker," She looked at him and he kissed her gently.
Peter ran a hand through her hair and smiled into the kiss. He couldn't help but feel like the luckiest guy ever.
After what seemed like forever, the door opened and Steve stood in the open doorway. They weren't allowed to be in a room alone together with the door closed.
"Hey, dad," Luci said after Peter pulled away.
"H-hello, Mr. Rogers," Peter blushed brightly.
"Hello, sweetie, Queens," Steve nodded at them.
"W-we were just-" Peter was cut off.
"I saw, don't worry. I know when to be an overprotective father. Plus, the door always stays open so I know that you to aren't doing anything you shouldn't be. I trust you, Queens. Just don't break that trust," Steve said and Peter nodded.
"I won't. I never want to lose Luci," Peter promised Cap.
"Alright but Destiny finished lunch so let's go eat. She told me to get you two," Steve smiled and walked to the kitchen, wrapping his arms around his wife from behind.
"Just making a few extra grilled cheese sandwiches," Destiny smiled as she leaned against Steve happily. She loved him so much.
"Alright. Luci and Queens are coming," Steve said and Dez giggled. She liked the nickname her husband gave, Peter.
"Okay then," Destiny smiled at him lovingly. "Mr. Rogers."
"Mrs. Rogers," Steve said and he nuzzled her happily. He loved her with all of his heart. He was glad to have met her.
Peter sat down with Luci and smiled at the delicious smelling food.
"Thank you, mom," Luci smiled as she looked at her mom and then at her food.
Peter dipped his grilled cheese into the warm tomato soup. He took a bite, savoring the gooey cheese and the delicious taste of the food.
"This is amazing!" Peter smiled after he swallowed.
"Why thank you Peter," Destiny smiled at him and Luci giggled a little as she took a bite as well and swallowed.
"He's right mom, this is delicious," Luci said and Destiny kissed her temple.
"Just something simple for lunch," Dez said as she sat with Steve and started to eat.
They all ate lunch before the door burst open.
