The plane beginning to descend was what spurred Druig and Soro from the little room and into the main cabin. When they stepped out, Soro first with Druig right behind him like a protective shadow, the others looked up. "You're finally awake", Sprite commented, though there was an underlying note of relief in her voice. Everyone had known her for long enough to read the concern in her face. Soro spared her a reassuring smile as he crossed over to Thena.

The golden haired goddess was seated at the table in the corner. Soro took the seat opposite her as Druig slipped into the one next to him. "Thena", he voiced. Hands reaching across the table. She offered him a watery smile as she took them, clutching them in her own. His skin was still pale, less lustrous than hers and this difference was made more obvious by their hands together. Still, he was regaining his colour and that knowledge eased Druig's concern. Soro had looked much worse. Now the puncture wounds in his arms and shoulders were almost fully healed and his body was refining it's energy.

"I am sorry I missed the funeral. I am sorry I couldn't do more". Soro's words were soft and grieving.

"It's not your fault", Thena shook her head gently. Her smile was warm. Just like how she used to look at them before the Mhad Wr'ry started. That smile just made Soro want to cry more. Instead he blinked rapidly behind his glasses. "Gil chose to save you".

"He shouldn't have had to make that choice".

"If you had not intervened then he would have died earlier. Instead he died saving you. He would be more at peace with that". She squeezed his hands and that was the final straw. Soro ducked his head as tears began dripping down his cheeks. He let go to push up his glasses and rub away at the water with the sleeve of his hoodie.

Druig wordlessly nudged his hands back and cupped his husband's face in his palm as he gently wiped away the sadness. "My divine Soro". The words so quiet and reassuring that Thena barely heard them despite being opposite. She smiled, slightly brighter this time. It helped to see them together again. Soro had not been himself ever since their breakup and she was so glad for them.

"We're landing", Kingo announced. The plane shuddered as they reached the runway. Soro took the moment of physical shakiness to collect himself and rub away the last evidence of his crying.

"Sersi and I will go", Ikaris announced as the plane slowed to a stop. He was already getting out of his seat. Kingo made a noise of protest but Sersi nodded.

"I agree with Ikaris. With what happened, I think the rest of you should stay here. We're safer together".

"No", Soro spoke up. Druig slid out of his seat and the eternal rose, crossing his arms. "I'm coming too".

"I just said stay here", Ikaris huffed. "You're still injured". He gestured to Soro's pale demeanour.

Soro just met Ikaris' stare dead on. He was not in the mood to be challenged right now. He'd had nightmares, horrible nightmares full of past memories of things he never knew. Gilgamesh was dead and he really wasn't in the mood. "Excuse me? Who here has visited Phastos in the last few years? Who here has even seen Phastos since World War Two?" He paused to hear the silence. "Oh yeah. Me and Ajax. But Ajax is dead so I guess if you want to make this visit as easy and as quick as possible, you've got me".

He knew that Druig was smirking smugly behind him. Ikaris deflated in defeat. "Fine".

"I did not know that you visited Phastos", Sersi commented.

"I visited everyone", Soro rolled his eyes. "You know this".

"When was the last time you visited Phastos?" Sprite asked.

"The last time I stayed for more than a day was two years ago. But I drop in for a few hours every few months", Soro shrugged. "Which airport are we at? I know the area". He headed for the door. Sersi and Ikaris right behind him. The door was heaved open by a flight attendant and he exited to bright afternoon sun.

"Wait there", Ikaris stopped Druig in the open door. "You don't need to come too".

Druig scowled at him. "Spare me from your ego. My husband has just woken up from being unconscious for over twenty four hours. I think I am going to stick by his side for a bit longer wether you let me or not". The last part was spoken with a vicious smile that was all teeth. "You would do the same for Sersi", he added quieter.

"Fine but only if you shut up and let us do all the talking". Ikaris punctuated this with a shove to his shoulder. Druig glared at him and stomped down the stairs after the others. Behind them, the airplane door was pulled closed.

Soro was waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs. The man knowing that Druig wouldn't have stayed behind. He didn't want to be separated either, not so soon. He smiled at him as the dark haired male flicked out a pair of sunglasses from the pocket of his leather jacket. "This suits you", Soro complimented as he ran a hand over the fabric.

Druig's glare melted into soft love. "Does it?" He caught the hand in his and pressed Soro's knuckles to his lips. The dark eyed man giggled. The sun bright on their skin and warming his eyes from black into deep cherry chocolate.

"Oi lovebirds!" Ikaris' delightful voice interrupted them. "Come on". Soro and Druig shared a sigh and a look. Sersi laughed at their rolled eyes. "How did we never notice?" Ikaris pulled a face. "You're gross". It was playful, teasing. Rare but it did happen.

"We never did much PDA back then. Considering same sexualities went in and out of fashion in different societies much too frequently back then. One minute it was fine in Japan, the next it was banned on pain of death in Europe. The next it was okay as long as it was behind closed doors in England, then it was back to being a crime". Soro grumbled to himself more than to any of the others.

"I'm still apologising", Druig grinned in satisfaction. "And the fact that you dislike it makes me like it even more. We should have gotten back together sooner".

"You didn't catch me sooner", Soro shot back as he began to led the way towards the road where they could grab a taxi.

"He's got you there Druig", Sersi smiled. She seemed to be enjoying their couple antics now that she was used to the idea. Druig was not at all offended. He agreed. He should have caught Soro sooner. He should not have left it so late.
