Chapter 25

Aphmau POV:

I had lose my sense of time, I don't know how long ago. They had allowed me to keep the outfit Ylva gave to me, but it's been covered in dust and dirt from sleeping on the ground. As uncomfortable as this it, I had no idea what Y/n was going through. Laurence was missing, she's been blackmailed, we're the hostages, and everyone's a Meif'wa! I hope things start getting better...

Y/n POV:

"You need to make this quick. I can only get you away for so long. If you're going to talk to anyone you need to pick one person-- you don't have time to talk to Laurence, Katelyn, Aphmau, and Abby. Abby is in the 1st cellar. Laurence is in the 4th. Katelyn and Aphmau are in the 3rd. Pick one and go, I'll distract the guards." Ylva only once instructed me, and I descended down the ladder.

I wanted to make sure everyone was okay, but there wasn't enough time. I could only get information for the greater good of all of us. This was distressing. I heaved a breath and went down into the 1st cellar. A dirty blonde with green eyes. There was a sudden nag of familiarity it was subtle, so I ignored it. "Huh? Who the heck are you... you're a... Meif'wa?" Abby of course didn't know who I was, weary of my future actions.

"I'm Y/n. I don't have much time to talk to you nor will you understand my situation right off the bat but...You're down here because the King is forcing Fenrir to marry, and is using you as leverage. Fenrir wanted to know if you had any knowledge or connections that could get us out of this."

Abby informed me that she already knew of the marriage(the guards aren't the quietest of talkers). There were in fact some helpful hands, but if the King was being this oppressive then we needed the help of the Lord of Scaleswind. Nicole. I didn't know how we could be able to contact her though. Apparently Abby was also a friend of Nicole's, and instructed me to go to the tavern in town.

"Tell the barkeep "The Wind Scales South East Wolves" he'll know what it means!" I thanked her as we heard the footsteps of someone approaching. Abby at least looked healthy, so they were at least feeding everyone. "Oh, by the way. I forgot to tell you my name. I'm Abby, Abby the Golden Heart." A sharp pain shot through my soul as that feeling of recognition finally made sense. "W-wait, wait I know you! You're Jef-- HEY! Get your hands off me! A werewolf had comedown the ladder and latched onto my forearm, dragging me back up.

Ylva and I were standing outside the said tavern from earlier. The guards were still with us, so it kept me on edge over what I said. "This is the last time I can use my authority to move you from place to place. We are now accompanied by wolf guards. You best make this pre-wedding 'drink' quick." That was what we were calling it. I still can't believe this bull is even happening in the first place.

I felt it of place completely, once opening the door. This is a wooden tavern, with someone dressed in all white walking in. A couple people were definitely side-eyeing me. I tried to pay no mind and sat on a barstool. The tender immediately decided to ridicule me. " Oy! What can I do for ye'? AH! Look at that, you got yourself some kitty-cat ears? Hahaha! Never seen one like you befer'!"

I forgot those were even there for a minute. "The Wind Scales South East Wolves." His joking expression left and he became more serious with me. "... I hear you loud and clear. The wind will blow as fast as it can I'm sure, Mother Nature is tricky eiyh these things of things. Beg your pardon, I didn't realize you were someone of a Golden Heart. Now, allow me to get you a complimentary drink on the house."

I thanked him with a nod, a drink was definitely something I needed. Before I was forced back into the room with Fenrir, that is.

The bright white and giant tree. It was so peaceful in here, but my mind felt so hectic. Almost nothing was going right and I was constantly being monitored for absolute shit. I walked around for a minute in silence, staring at the grass. Blowing from a wind coming from some direction. I heard a scratching that got louder as I came back around the truck. I was confused before seeing what was now written down.

'ARE YOU OKAY?
-BLONDIE'

My knees gave out and I fell to the floor. A dry laugh left my lips as I took in the fact that both him and Aphmau were here with me, and I wasn't alone like I thought. It took a second for me to realize I was crying. It had been a... while, since I actually cried from genuinely being upset. I covered my face with both my hands, still angry at it all.

"Aph... I hope you and Katelyn are alright. Once this was over you two would have been free to go, but... I found where Laurence was. He's in the cell next you you guys, hah. A-and now... because of me... he's gonna be killed on the day I'm forced to marry Fenrir. A-and here's the big catcher! It's tomorrow!!" I tried to give fake enthusiasm before I completely lost it.

'my fault. My fault. My FuAlT.' I wipe my face off, getting my breath leveled again. ".. But hey, I sort of recall this happening to you guys, and you somehow got out of it. Maybe there's a chance it'll happen again...! You guys don't deserve this.... in the likely chance it doesn't... visit Nicole for me. She is now the Lord of Scaleswind and has been babysitting a package for me. It's due that I pick it up."

The church bells started ringing again in the background. I don't know it they were listening, but this made me feel better. I wasn't crying anymore. I didn't feel he need too. "And Blondie," the scenery was starting to fade out. "I'm alright. Thanks for asking." I turned to the right, he used to stand on that side when we walked. Don't know if he was over there though. I hope we get him out soon.

I woke up slightly disoriented. All the red in the room was almost hurtful to the eyes. Everything faded back in as I saw Fenrir pacing back and forth. "Oh god, my head." He snapped his head over and jumped. "W-WHERE WERE YOU! YOU HAD ME WORRIED SICK!" I cringed at his volume. "I was right here. Like I said before, I made a sleep contract with my friend in the dungeon. She was having one of her dreams."

"You. Had. Me. Worried. SICK! I thought you decided to forget about everyone we're trying to save and just got up and escaped on your own... Not that I would blame you for wanting to escape but... you'd be killing everyone in that dungeon by doing so..." I would never do that. Their lives matter much more than mine. I tried to calm him down with another explanation. "... I'm sorry, I just don't know you that well... and yet we're being forced to marry today..."

"THE WEDDING IS TODAY?!"
