Chapter 21
Y/n POV:
God damn, my head was killing me. I felt like I was smacked with a rock until I realized that that basically was what happened. My eyes adjusted to the surroundings and unlike last time on the rugged floor, I was laying in a fully flourished bed set. White and blue covers with a 'small' blueish-grey chandler hanging above. Strange sun & moon ornaments were on the walls adjacent to each other. A dog plush toy was on the nightstand next to me.
The room had windows, yes, but the door was made of iron like before with no way of getting out from the inside. "What did I get myself into now..." I remembered back at Michi's place. Under any other circumstances, she would have gotten her ass beat! This time, she had gotten her hands on some weird sleeping powders and serums.
It was then that a woman dressed in high costing red & black fabrics, with blonde hair and icy blue eyes walked in. Now I've had my fair share of kidnappings before and I've always gotten out of them. But this one.... just seemed different. I sat up and leaned back against the headboard. It doesn't matter who she is, I don't trust any of them right now.
"My, my... look at you! It's been forever since I've seen a Meif'wa in person." The lady held a motherly tone. 'Ain't no mother of mine.' I didn't say anything to her but kept a sharp gaze and crossed arms, showing defense. Her expression saddened some after looking at me. "Oh hunny... I'm not going to hurt you. I bet you've been through some horrible things. Come, let's talk."
She motioned towards the now open door to this well dressed prison. "What makes you think I'm gonna blindly follow you? I've been kidnapped along with my friends, with no knowledge of where we are." Add that onto the fact that I was still only in under garments. This is unorthodox. "My name is Queen Ylva of the South Eastern Wolf Tribe. You are one of the Meif'wa the scouts brought back that is going to marry my son."
What type of bullshit is this?! A really weird sense of Déjà vu washed over me. This happened before, but I sure as hell don't remember any of it. "No, this isn't legal! I don't want any part of this! You guys are threatening the live of someone I care about over something that I haven't given consent for!" I was angry at the situation and everyone involved in it. To whoever took all my shit, I hope you accidentally break something and blow up from it.
"Sweetheart...I know... I too was forced to marry my husband when I was your age." I furrowed my eyebrows at her attempt at simpathy. "That horrible but then why the hell are you making me do it? I've been accustom to other wold tribes, but I don't even know you guys!" Sound seemed more sensitive to me. Not the fact that it was just louder, but strange background pitches and noises were picked up.
"If I could let you go I would... it's just... the South Eastern Werewolf monarchy has been around for the past 100 years and we are already set in our ways." Even with that this didn't make sense. I can understand if the Queen was a werewolf in her human form but, they are looking for a Meif'wa to be wed with. "Even with that, your logic isn't-- wait, WAIT!"
I stood out of the bed and on the ground in a more dignified stance. "I'm not even a real Meif'wa! I'm a human woman and I somehow was physically changed into this by someone! I have no idea how but I can promise you that I'm not even from this universal timeline to begin with!" It was of no surprise that Ylva was not even the slightest convinced by my sayings. The fact that this even happened was crazy on my standards. "That's similar to the clams of your friend my darling. Can you prove what you say?"
"Uh, that's a yes and no. All my items were taken away by your men, but even then I've had my traveling items that I came here with stolen from me some years ago. I haven't a clue of their whereabouts nor the person who did this to me and my comrades." I sound like I'm trying to pull excuses out of my ass. Intense ones to say the least.
There aren't many people outside of Phoenix Drop that even know I'm from a place that they can't even get too. "Then your claim holds no ground here. Come, let's get you dressed with your friend to meet the King and my son, the prince." I stopped her for a second time, feeling the desperation begin to set into my stomach.
"15 years ago, I helped to settle the war between the Southern and Eastern wolf tribe with Aphmau! I have knowledge that Bodolf had passed away, but I too have known Lowell the new ruler. If you help me contact him, he can tell you who I am!" Ylva cast her gaze down before meeting my eyes again. "I'll do what I can for you my darling.... however know that we are currently at war with the Southern Wolf Tribe."
"What? Hadn't you guys come to an agreement after last time??" She gave a short shrug with disappointment towards her own people in the statement, "Werewolves are stubborn and our rage tend to invoke war often. I'm sorry. If I can send a messanger bird to Lowell I will, but chances are he won't receive it."
I shook my head before being told again to follow after Ylva. "Dry your tears my princess. If you are picked, you'll learn to love your new prince. Now, come with me." I didn't have much of a choice in the matter considering what the stakes currently were. The castle was huge. Many hallways and corridors made me dizzy. Not once did I see an exit either. So as far as I knew, we were on the second floor or higher.
~oOo~
I was dunking on a giant bath along with Aphmau(thank god). She had the same experience with Queen Ylva as I did. At least she wasn't hurt. Queen Ylva was in the room also but turned away to at least give us some space privacy. With nothing to do, I had been left with my thoughts. How much trouble I could get everyone in with the unstable range of a temper I tended to show to different people. Short one day and long the next.
"Here is a towel for you sweetie. Come over to the vanity once each of you're done so that I can fix up your hair." I climbed out of the luke warm water still haves knotted nerves of stress being built up. As much as I wanted to trust her, I wasn't taking chances with anyone at the moment. One bad move on my end could set off a chain reaction. I willingly sat down in the chair that was placed in front of a dresser with a large mirror. A vanity.
"Queen Ylva, are you positive that this is surely set in stone... There is nothing that can be done to avoid this?" Since I in fact had dreadlocks, Ylva couldn't simply comb or brush through them. "I'm afraid not. I've sent one of my ladies-in-waiting to send the message, so hopefully something comes up. I really do want to help you, but like I said... we are set in our ways." I felt a few of my locs being pulled and braided together. "That's the thing that has been bugging me. We aren't not even a werewolf, nor do we even know you guys! I'm a..... Meif'wa."
She just smiled at me through the mirror. "You're a beautiful Meif'wa, here... Lets finish this hair and get you dressed in the right attire." It was quiet between us for a moment as I stared down the backs of my hands. Both being clentched while sitting on my lap. "...We received a prophecy from the moon a few months ago... As the moon was shining on the sacred lake it gave my husband, the King.... visions of our future.
"He then spoke of what the moon told him, 'If our tribe's Kingdome is to grow and prosper... a child born of both Meif'wa and Lu'pine blood must be the next heir to the throne.' Therefore my husband put a bounty for any who could bring a female meif'wa with exceptional traits."
"What about Michi? she is a Meif'wa as well!" Aphmau brought up Ylva scrunched up her face from behind me. "Michi? you mean that woman. She's a rotten one, I'll tell you that. Why, she kicked and screamed when I tried to give her a bath. She acted like a self-absorbed brat. My husband dispised her but was willing to have her marry the Prince if it ment having the prophecy fofilled. However, Michi made a deal with my husband. In exchange for her freedom, she would find more female Meif'wa with better personality traits for the King to pick as a suitor for our son.
"If she failed to within 2 months we'd go after her for lying. Her 2 months are actually up tomorrow. I was worried she wasn't going to be able to deliver mor Meif'wa but now you're here my little Princesses." I refused to look at myself once Ylva was finished with both our heads, before she started helping me get into a strangely fitting dress. "Why do you keep callin us your Princess?" Aphmau asked a little hesitant. Not the weirdest nickname I've heard, but it's still up there.
"I've always wanted a daughter cub. since one of you are marrying my son, you are my closest thing to a daughter." From how touching that would have been, it wasn't. More off putting than anything. "What if either of us don't even end up marrying him?" Ylva's head lowered some. "....Then at least I had the chance to pretend like I had a daughter. Either way, it makes me smile and I can still help you. I am a mother, all children are my cubs."
"..That's sweet of you to say..." She gave a small smile to herself before finishing up. "There! You're both dressed and ready to meet the King! Well, what do you think?" I was forced to face the mirror, seeing what I had been turned into. We had been pampered head to toe in nothing but white. A completely off the shoulder dress with sleeves that ran over my hands. Short at the bottom with open toe shoes that were higher than I would like. Light blue and siver highlighted all over, giveing no place to actually rest my eyes on.
Aphmau had her hair put into a low braided ponytail, as mine was put to one side.
"I look pretty.....Thank you.."
1865 words.
