Changing into a floral print pajama set, Yashvi tied up her hair in a bun. She glanced at her face, still flushed from the embarrassment her husband had subjected her to in front of her younger brother. Exiting the bedroom, she found him equally embarrassed.

"Go and change," she instructed, handing him a white t-shirt and cream pants.

He nodded and headed to the bathroom. After changing, he returned to the dining area where he saw Yashvi's mother, brother, and Yashvi herself, setting the table and sharing laughter over something.

"Isn't it a lot?" he whispered to his wife, leaning in close. She looked puzzled for a moment, then followed his gaze to the dining table, which indeed was laden with a feast. However, Yashvi had no complaints; she adored her mother's cooking and was excited for the meal.

The table featured Dal Makhani, pulao, aloo gobhi, baingan bharta, palak paneer, roti, naan, salad, and Gajar halwa.

"Advik, please, have a seat," Amrita, Yashvi's mother, gestured to an empty chair. Advik gladly obliged, sitting beside Yashvi, who had quickly served herself a bit of everything. She glanced at him and furrowed her brow as he continued to survey the array of dishes before him.

She proceeded to serve him with an understanding of his preferences, making her mother smile.

Over dinner, the four of them engaged in light-hearted conversation, filling the room with warmth and laughter.

"Darsh, may I come in?" Yashvi asked while standing outside her brother's room. He immediately turned towards her, setting his book aside.

"You don't need to ask, dii," he gently whispered. As she stepped in, he hugged her tightly, making her smile. She gently ruffled his hair.

"I bought this for you," she said, passing him two packages, and threw herself onto his bed, which made him groan.

"Dii, I just made the bed," he whined, but she chuckled and opened a packet of blue lays from the bedside table. After devouring the chips, she offered him another.

"You just had dinner," he pointed out with a frown. She showed her tongue to him and continued munching.

"Isn't this book still not available in India?" he asked, furrowing his brow as he looked at the book in his hand. He already had a copy, but it was an older edition, while the book his sister had given him was the updated one.

"You told me once when we were talking. My brother-in-law Advait was traveling to the USA, so I asked him to purchase this book for you," she explained while taking a packet of dark fantasy biscuits. He looked at her, surprised.

"But you don't usually ask for things from anyone," he noted. She nodded as she sat on the bed and gestured for him to sit on the floor. He smiled widely and took the bottle of oil and a towel before sitting down.

"I still don't like asking anyone for favors, Darsh, but the family I am married into is big. There is nothing that is exclusively mine or yours. They have so much love among themselves that I sometimes feel jealous. Everyone, from the eldest to the youngest, is so loving, caring, and warm. You remember how I was scared about marrying Advik," she reminisced, and he hummed in agreement as he closed his eyes, enjoying the hair massage he was receiving.

"But now I feel it's the best decision of my life. I feel so loved by everyone," she continued, making him smile. Although he hadn't voiced it, he was initially scared about his sister adjusting to the Mehrotras' way of life.

"I had just asked Advait once, hesitantly. And you know what he replied? 'Bhabhi, you should order me rather than asking me,'" she said, with a minuscule smile on her face. The Mehrotras had surely found a place in her heart in a short period of time.

"But this book must be so expensive," Darsh said, and immediately turned the book. His eyes nearly popped out of his sockets when he saw the price - four hundred and fifty dollars.

"It costs more than thirty-five thousand. You paid him, right?" he immediately asked, and she shook her head.

"Dii, I can't accept it. It may not be much for them, but for me, it's a lot. Return it. Adya can use it," he suggested, remembering that her sister-in-law also studies medicine.

"May I come inside?" Advik asked, knocking on the open door, making Darsh squirm as he nodded.

Advik smiled as he pulled the bean bag aside and sat on it.

"Here," he said, passing two ice-creams to the siblings. Adya smiled as she saw her pistachio kulfi, and Darsh received a simple orange popsicle.

"Darsh, am I not your family?" Advik asked in a plain voice, glancing at his brother-in-law.

"You are my jiju. That makes you my family," Darsh said in a small voice, but a smile covered his face as he called Advik his family.

"So I have to pay you back if I ever ask for something?" Advik asked, glancing at Darsh, who immediately shook his head.

"In the same way, your sister is also my wife and my brother's sister-in-law. She asked something of him for the first time. There was no way he would have taken money. I know it's quite a lot for you, but just don't let money come between us. Please," Advik requested, looking at his wife, who passed him a reassuring smile.

"But jiju, thirty-five thousand is a lot," Darsh insisted. It was quite a lot and worth more than his monthly intern salary.

"Your jiju can handle that. But if you insist, I will pay Advait. He may feel bad about it, but it's okay," Advik said, pulling out his phone. Darsh immediately shook his head. He didn't want his sister's relationship with her brother-in-law to be affected.

"You are my brother too, Darsh. I will feel happy if you will treat me as your brother and won't hesitate in front of me," Advik said before going outside.

"Leave all this. I purchased this shirt and tie for you," she said and passed him another gift, which he happily accepted. Inside was a black shirt and three brown ties in different shades, and he smiled happily.

"How was the walk with Mumma?" Yashvi asked as she stepped into her room. As she had expected, her husband was still not sleeping but rather busy on his phone. He had gone for a walk with her mother after dinner and had returned when she was talking to Darsh.

"Nice," he spoke, giving her a slight smile, then patted the space next to him. She grinned and immediately hugged his waist, hiding her face on his shoulder as his hand rested on her waist, pulling her closer.

"You didn't like how Darsh reacted," she stated, looking at him. He simply hummed and then pecked her forehead.

"I didn't like it, honestly, but at the same time, I understand where he is coming from. The amount, which is not much for me, means a lot to him. If I knew he would feel this way, I would have definitely given the money to Advait. It honestly was never needed, Yashvi. You and I are not different. My money and your money are the same. In our house, nothing is separated, from business to the house. My siblings don't think twice before spending money, and some five hundred dollars was nothing for Advait. I'm sure he had no intention of hurting your self-esteem or Darsh. It's just how we've grown up. But if you want, I will pay Advait," he explained his side, making her nod.

"You don't need to, Advik. I will make sure money won't ever be a problem between us. And in no way did Advait hurt me, so you can relax. As for Darsh, I wasn't aware the book was this expensive. If I had known, I wouldn't have asked Advait to purchase it," she said, making him sigh.

"You and I are above every worldly luxury, Mr. Mehrotra," she said, pecking his jaw. He glanced at her, smiled, and then spooned her in his arms, pulling the duvet above them.

You must be like why so much money talk. It was to highlight the way both have been brought up and so money doesn't become a issue between them in the future.

Are you guys willing to read some smut?
