2.

Yashvi entered the room after having lunch with the ladies when her eyes fell upon Advik, who appeared frustrated and filled with anxiety. She stared at him in confusion and walked towards the dressing table, placing her phone there.

"What happened?" Hearing her soft voice, Advik looked in her direction and shook his head while continuing to check his laptop.

"Is there a problem, Advik?" Hearing her mention his name, he looked at her and nodded.

"My laptop suddenly crashed, and I am unable to access critical files and data I need urgently for the presentation with Japanese delegates in the evening. I tried to solve it on my own, but it's beyond my expertise." he said, pointing towards his laptop, letting out an exasperated sigh, his lips pressed into a thin line.

He looked at her and then at his laptop, realizing that his wife had expertise in technical aspects. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, he decided to seek help from his genius wife, who was looking at him as if waiting for him to ask for help.

"You are a robotics engineer. Can you help me with it?" Advik asked her hesitantly, rubbing his hands together, as he looked at his wife, who was arranging her necklace and earrings.

"Yes, of course. Let me check." she said gleefully, walking towards him and sitting in close proximity, shifting the laptop towards her. Her brows furrowed in deep concentration as her slender fingers moved over his laptop. She remained oblivious to her husband's admiring gaze, who seemed to forget the urgency of the situation and was simply staring at her.

For Yashvi, her profession as a robotics engineer was the result of all the hard work she had put in, despite facing financial problems. Even though she was a genius, it took her time, consistency, and dedication to make a name for herself in a male-dominated profession.

She felt a deep-rooted connection with innovation and technology, as if she and the machine spoke the same language. When faced with a challenge, her mind raced with possibilities, fueled by the belief that technology held the key to unlocking solutions. When Yashvi successfully brought a robotic creation to life, her eyes danced with pure joy. The satisfaction of seeing her ideas take tangible form shone through, as if her heart swelled with pride. She recognized the transformative power of technology, how it could shape lives, bridge gaps, and make a positive difference in the world, which led her to choose it as her career.

Advik could clearly see the rush of confidence and the shine in her eyes, which made him smile. She seemed incredibly attractive to him at that moment as he studied her face and observed how swiftly her fingers moved over the keyboard.

"Done," she exclaimed cheerfully, placing his laptop aside and looking at him with a broad grin.

"Your file is recovered," she said happily as he looked at his laptop and pulled it onto his lap.

After checking it, he nodded at her with a smile, thanking her. She shook her head and went towards the dressing table, picking up a book on robotics before heading towards the balcony. He watched her retreating figure and decided to give her some personal space for the time being. Sending the file to his brother, he glanced at the watch, which showed 4 o'clock in the evening, and then went towards the washroom.

After Advik finished his business, he walked towards the balcony where Yashvi was engrossed in her book on robotics. The soft breeze gently rustled the pages as she absorbed the knowledge, her eyes shining with curiosity and passion.

Advik leaned against the balcony railing, observing Yashvi with a fond smile. He marveled at her dedication and the way her mind seemed to be constantly seeking new information and ideas. As he watched her, he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and admiration for her intellect.

He took a step forward in her direction but stopped midway. Hesitantly looking at her, he turned back and returned to the room.

By now, he had understood that Yashvi was an introvert, considerate, and thoughtful person. She always had a smile on her face, but she chose her words carefully. His family had surely overwhelmed her, and he could sense it from the way her body language changed and she became tense in the presence of his family members. That was the only reason he was skeptical about their alliance, but he remembered the way his mother had made him understand.

He made his way towards the nightstand and pulled out a box. Taking a deep breath, he walked back towards the balcony.

"Yashvi," he called out, his heartbeat racing and his hands turning sweaty. Nervousness clouded his mind as he saw her attention shifting from the book towards him, completely turning towards him and setting her book aside.

"Yes, Advik?" she said, quickly making space beside her for him to sit. He smiled at her and went to sit beside her.

"What were you doing?" he asked, keeping the gift behind him and rubbing his hands together.

"I was just reading a book. I will rejoin the office next week," she answered, shifting a little away from him.

"Ek baat puchu aapse?" he asked, looking at her with an admiring gaze as she played with the bangles on her left hand. (Can I ask you something?)

"Yes," she asked, raising her eyebrows at him.

"I have bought something for you. Will you accept it?" he asked, giving her a small smile while she looked at him, confusion clouding her mind. Nonetheless, she nodded.

He handed her a gift package from behind him, and she carefully took it and opened it slowly.Inside, there was a smartwatch that was soon to be launched by Mehtrotra's branch of electronic products, Techtronics.

"How can I accept it? It is still not launched on the market, and you are gifting this to me. What if your family won't like it?" He smiled, looking at her panicked face, and then took her hand in his, caressing the back of her palm with his rough yet warm thumb.

"Yashvi, you needn't panic about this. The product will be launched on the market by the end of this month. Why would my family not like it, and above all, how does it matter? You are my wife, and I can gift you whatever I want, and they have no business in this. I can gift you whatever I want, and it has nothing to do with them." Yashvi looked surprised as she listened to his words. She had thought him to be a family man, so such words surely surprised her. Understanding the confusion that was clearly written on her face, he turned completely towards her and held both her hands.

"It doesn't make me less of a son, brother, or grandson. When we enter into a new relationship, we have to give it time, just the way you have to give more time and mind to your new projects. But as it is ready, you can focus on your other work as well. It's just that I don't want to forget being a husband to you in the quest of being a good son. I have been a son and grandson for thirty-one years of my life, but the relationship I share with you is something new, and I had to give it time, truth, and loyalty for it to progress. But I need your help with it, and I assure you that in no way will my family ever involve themselves in our private matters." He stopped talking, feeling her constant gaze on him as his ear helix turned slightly red, feeling her admiring gaze.

She smiled slightly, pulling her hands away as she took the smartwatch, admiring it. It was black in color with the Mehtrotra's logo in the right corner.

"I have seen people gifting jewelry and all, but this is something new," she said with a chuckle, her heart warming up as she looked at his dimples when he smiled wholeheartedly.

"You already have plenty of jewelry. You are a working woman, and that too in the robotics and automation division. You don't wear any jewelry, but this smartwatch will be helpful for you," he said, taking the watch from her hand.

"It has personal safety, health diagnosis assistant, augmented reality integration, and above all, you don't have to charge it. It will charge itself using solar energy," he said with a huge smile, making her chuckle. She smiled, looking at his enthusiastic face, not correcting him that she was in the team that designed the watch, as they continued to talk about business, the market and technology.

"Will you accompany me?" he asked all of a sudden, glancing at his wristwatch, which showed half-past six in the evening.

"Where to?" Getting up on her feet, she pulled out her reading glasses and kept them in their case, then picked up her book and walked towards the huge glass sliding doors leading back to the room. He followed her as she placed the book on the table in the small library he had set up in his room.

"By evening, if we're present at home, we all gather in the garden to have some evening tea and snacks. The weather is beautiful today," Advik said, glancing outside the room as the sky had darkened a little, indicating rain.

"Let's go then," she said, turning towards him, a gentle and calm smile playing on her lips as she bent towards the dressing table, picking up her phone.

He nodded as he walked towards the door, and she followed him. Once outside, she closed the door while he leaned on the railing, waiting for her.

"Though humongous, your room is pretty," she uttered, making him smile as he shoved his hands inside his lounge pants.

His room was indeed pretty, decorated in shades of gray, white, and blue. It was aesthetically partitioned into two sections, with an attached bathroom and a walk-in closet. One side of the room featured a small library, a sofa, and a cushioned armchair. A recliner sofa bed was also present, while the other side housed a king-sized bed, nightstands on both sides, and a dressing table. The balcony, adorned with a small artificial pool and lush greenery, caught her attention. A shaded seating arrangement with rugs, sofas, cushions, swings, and a wooden table added to the ambiance. Wind chimes, fairy lights, and decorative lanterns created a magical atmosphere. However, Yashvi's favorite feature was the circular swing. Painted in black and white, with a shade above and a glass door separating the pool area. The cozy and warm setup was undeniably aesthetic, although she realized it might be expensive for a salaried person like her.

"My mother and aunt put in all the effort, but Adya designed the balcony prior to our marriage," she nodded, listening to him and realizing how many changes he had gone through before their marriage. Not only her, but his life had also changed.

She walked behind him as he guided her to the garden area, her eyes scanning the surroundings. The huge mansion seemed like a labyrinth to her, who had lived in a flat all her life.

The back door opened, and a smile spread across her face as the cool breeze gently caressed her skin. Advik observed the serene smile playing on Yashvi's lips and couldn't help but smile himself. The garden was large with a huge pool, wooden sitting arrangement at center, a tennis court and basketball at one corner, a shaded sitting area at the other corner and decorated with various exotic flowers.

"Dadu is fond of gardening." Advik remarked as he saw her looking at the flowers.

All the family members were sitting in the garden area, engaged in conversations, while Adya and Advait were playing tennis. Indian evening delicacies, along with tea and coffee, were placed on the coffee table in the center, and staff members were serving them. Advik walked towards Advait and grabbed the racket to join him in the game.

Yashvi's mother-in-law looked at her with a warm smile and instructed the staff to serve her as well. Yashvi observed as the kitchen staff served her bhel puri, along with a samosa and chutney.

She continued listening to the conversations when Adya came and sat beside her, grabbing a handful of bhel puri and stuffing it in her mouth.

"Glutton," Adarsh commented, sipping his coffee, to which Adya playfully stuck out her tongue, eliciting chuckles from everyone. The environment was lively and filled with laughter and happiness, showcasing the mutual love and respect between family members.

Advik, a few moments later, joined them, a little sweaty and breathing raggedly from his intense game of tennis.

"Go and wash yourself, Advik," his mother said, making him frown. He nodded in disagreement and was about to grab a samosa, but his mother lightly slapped the back of his hand. He sighed and grabbed a face towel, walking towards the basin in the garden to freshen up.

A few minutes later, he returned, joining Yashvi once again, sitting close to her. Her breath hitched as she felt his hand behind her back, and she couldn't help but be drawn to his masculine and spicy scent. Taking a deep breath, she replied to Advait's question, who was sitting on the grass happily munching on his samosa.

Advik served her tea, surprising her with his attentiveness. He noticed that she preferred tea in the morning, unlike the coffee that was also served, and made sure to serve her tea again. She for sure preferred tea over coffee and her heart tingled feeling the care and attention he always gave her.

Advik, as a husband and person, deserved all the love, care and pampering which he gave to people around her. A gem, that is what he is, and she has to cherish him. She has to learn to let go of the past, not to be stuck in it and get hurt by it. Just because her mother has been treated unkindly and felt unloved doesn't mean history will repeat itself with her. She deserves to be treated kindly, with love and rewarded with loyalty and the man sitting beside her was chosen by destiny for her. She had to reciprocate his care and kindness and treat his family as her own in the same way he had accepted her mother and brother as her own.

Rather than thinking about how to get to beautiful phases of her life, she has to make the phase she is in beautiful.
