Tired and drained from his long day at work, Advik entered his room and was surprised to find Yashvi measuring the length of their room while talking on the phone. She twirled the loose strands of her hair between her fingers, her face reflecting a mix of concentration and distraction.
Yashvi noticed him and, with a smile, bid farewell to the person on the phone. She poured a glass of water and handed it to him. Advik accepted it with a tired smile and gulped it down. It had been a grueling week of relentless work, with early mornings and late nights, leaving him with minimal time for anyone, even his wife.
"Dinner?" Yashvi asked as she pulled an ottoman and sat down. He shook his head, taking off his socks.
"I already had dinner with some clients," he replied, stifling a yawn. The disappointment on her face was evident as she looked at the untouched tray of food she had prepared. They had a microwave and mini refrigerator in their room, and she had thoughtfully brought their dinner there.
"You had yours?" he asked, glancing at her while opening his socks.
Yashvi didn't respond. She got up and headed to her side of the room, taking out her moisturizer. Her hands moved methodically, applying it to her legs, arms, and neck. Advik sighed, realizing that he had disappointed her.
Advik walked over to the microwave, retrieved the tray of food, and quickly warmed up the Rajasthani kadi and masala bhindi. He quickly prepared a plate for her and walked over.
"Yashvi," he said gently, setting the plate aside and looking at her. Her eyes were teary as she stared at him.
"Yaar, don't cry," he groaned, quickly wiping away the tears that had escaped her eyes.
Yashvi's tears were a mix of emotions that had built up over the past week. She was happy to see her husband but also hurt by his long work hours and tiredness. His loving gesture of warming her dinner almost made her cry, and his voice, filled with a mix of frustration and tenderness, was the tipping point.
"I miss you so much, Advik. It has been a week since we haven't talked properly. I miss waking up in your arms, I miss your kisses, I miss your teasing, I miss your care, and, moreover, I miss my husband so much," she spoke with a heavy heart.
As he looked at her, he smiled, touched by her words. She gently caressed the dark circles beneath his eyes, and he held her wrist, pushing her against the bed as he crashed his lips onto her, taking her lips in a passionate kiss.
Her eyes widened for a second before she registers and grabs his collars, pulling him closer as she kisses him as hard as she can. He smirked, biting on her lower lip making her wince. Advik's hand sneaks inside her top as he traces her spine with his index and middle finger making her shudder as she felt her core heating up. Her hands glided through his shirt, opening the first few buttons as she placed her hand directly over his chest, making him stop kissing her for a moment.
As she hesitantly tried withdrawing her hand, he uttered, "I am yours." and quickly discarded his shirt throwing it away. She looked into his eyes and took his lips in between hers as she traced her hands all through his chest down to his abdomen. He was craving for her touch and becoming an addict for her. He felt his heart beating loudly, thrashing to come out and take the woman in his arms to the skies of love and pleasure.
It wasn't the sexual satisfaction he felt inside of him, rather it was something deeper. He craved her in the way he never did for anyone. He felt his skin tingling with the sensations as she traced his back and abdomen with her hands.
She pulled away, her breath ragged, but still not entirely satisfied. He gazed at her, kissing her forehead. His hand rested beside her head as he took in the sight of her flushed face, swollen lips, and tousled hair.
"I miss you too, Yashvi. I miss you so much at times that it feels like I'm going crazy. It's maddening how many times I think about you and just want to run and hold you in my arms," Advik replied, his voice filled with tenderness. He could see the fatigue and sadness in her eyes.
He held her close, his warm embrace offering solace. "I promise to make it up to you. Just a little more time, love," he whispered, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead, as if sealing that promise with his lips.
"Kiss me, love me, please. Do whatever it takes, but make me feel closer to you. Please," she mumbled, her voice filled with desperation. He shook his hea, leaning in to kiss her forehead.
"Trust me, I am as desperate as you are, but I know you are saying this to feel me close. I want to make sweet love to you, Yashvi, a kind that will imprint you as mine and me as yours," he said with a smirk, making her blush as she hid her face in his chest. He laughed, caressing her back.
"Why not now? We are already married." She whispered against his chest as she sat on his lap. He smiled taking the plate of food and made a morsel, dipping it into the kadi, he fed her.
"For me, physical intimacy means a lot. I don't want our first time to be in the heat of the moment. I want it to be something we remember thirty years later and still blush about. It's the purest form of love. It's not just about physical activities; I want to connect with your soul. I want you to bare your soul to me, and I want to bare mine to you, so there are no secrets between us. I don't want your naked body; I want your naked soul. The day you tell me everything about your life, your achievements, the hurts you've endured, that will be the day our marriage is consummated in the truest sense." He said with a smile and set the empty plate aside. She looked at him, absorbing his words. She had never met a man like him before, and he had single-handedly changed her perceptions about men.
Yashvi, her head resting on Advik's chest, was lost in thought, contemplating their relationship. As she traced circles on his chest with her fingers, she voiced her doubts.
"How do you have so much faith in relationships?" She asked, her hands randomly making patterns on his arm.
Advik looked at Yashvi with a soft smile. "Trust me, it's not about having faith in relationships; it's about having faith in us," he replied, running his fingers through her hair. "My faith is in what we have, not just the institution of marriage. I have faith in you, in us. I've never met anyone quite like you, Yashvi."
Yashvi's eyes glistened as she listened to his words. "But how can you be so sure?" she asked, her voice trembling.
He gently tilted her chin to meet her eyes. "A relationship is never wrong; it's the person involved who can be wrong. I was raised by parents who love each other immensely and we won't give up on each other."
She looked at him, her eyes glistening. "You really believe that, don't you?"
He cupped her face and looked into her eyes. "With all my heart."
He gently pecked her hairline and then proceeded to the bathroom. After a quick shower, he stepped out, only to find the room empty. Confused, he looked around, stifled a yawn, and then picked up his phone before leaving the room.

Yashvi found herself at the kitchen sink, her hands moving mechanically as she washed the used plates, her mind still lingering on her recent conversation with Advik. With each clink of a plate against another, her thoughts swirled around the man who was slowly but surely taking over her heart.
She was aware that she was falling in love with him. It was impossible not to. The way he looked at her, the way he held her hands, the way he kissed her, the way he fed her, the way he served her, and everything else about him was causing her to fall in love, deeply and irrevocably.
However, as she thought about it more, she realized it wasn't just love in the traditional sense. It was more profound than that. She wasn't merely falling in love with him; she was falling into him. It was like she was being pulled into the depths of his very being. This realization both frightened and exhilarated her.
Her life had been fractured and scarred by her past, particularly her tumultuous relationship with her father. Advik, on the other hand, felt like a gift from the heavens, a warm and comforting presence in her life.
He held a power over her that she hadn't fully comprehended. It wasn't just love; it was a connection so deep and profound that it had the ability to heal her wounded soul. She had never dared to dream of a perfect life for herself, always planning and sacrificing for her mother and brother. But now, in Advik, she had stumbled upon something she never knew she needed. He was her blessing, her salvation, and her perfect love story.
In Advik, she had found her home, a home that she had been denied in her tumultuous childhood. He was the person with whom she didn't need to put on a façade. He could simply look at her, and in those moments, he understood her completely. It was as though he had been etched deep within her, and this realization weighed heavy on her heart.
Never before had she given someone this much control over her emotions. Not having him around for just a week had made her cry. The mere absence of his attention could turn her irritable and restless. It was a level of vulnerability she had never experienced before, and it was both beautiful and terrifying.
Yashvi took a deep breath and turned around, only to come face to face with her mother-in-law, who gazed at her with eyes as gentle and a smile as warm as the man she loved.
"What's the matter?" Sandhya gently asked, wiping away Yashvi's tears.
Yashvi realized she had been crying and hastily wiped her cheeks, shaking her head.
"I just realized something beautiful, Maa, and it overwhelmed me," she said, glancing at her with a smile, calming Sandhya's worry.
"Did my son do something? He may seem stern, but trust me, he has the purest heart. If you want, I can scold him too. You don't need to cry," Sandhya offered, concern in her tone, making Yashvi laugh. She hugged the older woman, finding comfort in her motherly warmth, and nestled her face on her shoulders. Yashvi felt a sense of happiness and security, seeking solace from Sandhya as the older woman gently patted her back.
"Thank you," Yashvi whispered in her ear, surprising Sandhya, who looked at her with confusion.
"For him," Yashvi clarified and left the kitchen, leaving Sandhya to smile, understanding the depth of her daughter-in-law's emotions towards her son. She then made her way to her room, her heart warmed by the love blossoming between the two.

"Where were you?" Advik asked as he encountered her on the stairs. Yashvi shook her head, smiling at him with twinkling eyes, and took his hand.
"You don't want your tea?" Yashvi teased, to which he chuckled and shook his head.
"I don't have the energy for that now. I'm sleepy," he said, glancing at her as she shrugged off the overcoat she had worn before heading downstairs. Checking the time, he pulled her closer, hugging her tight against his chest, making her smile as she wrapped her arms around his back.
"Thank you, Yashvi, for everything. Happy two-month anniversary," he said, making her eyes widen as she glanced at the table calendar and then back at him. Looping her arms around his neck, she pecked his forehead lovingly.
"Happy two months of togetherness, Mr. Mehrotra," she whispered and kissed him gently, making him smile as he deepened the kiss, pulling her closer.
She broke the kiss with a sweet smile on her face and looked at him. He had nothing but love for her, and she could clearly feel it. He didn't need to voice it out for her to know that he loved her.
He gently wiped her lips and then playfully pinched her lower lip between his thumb and index finger, making her swat his hand away. They pulled apart just as they heard a knock on the door.
"Open it," Yashvi said, checking the time on the clock and then looking at him. He picked up the discarded overcoat, helped her into it, and tied it up before walking towards the door.
At the gate stood Adya, Adarsh, and Advait with a small cake adorned with two kissing bears and a bag.
"Tumhe aaj bhi chain nahi hain," Advik remarked, allowing them to enter, and looked at his siblings, who hugged their bhabhi. He couldn't help but smile at the joy on his wife's face. (You still don't have peace today.)
"We arrived ten minutes late to give you two a chance to wish each other in style," Advait quipped, earning a blush from Yashvi and an eye roll from Advik.
"Cut the cake, please," Adarsh urged, placing the cake on the table. Yashvi admired the cake, and Advik and Yashvi smiled as they cut it and playfully fed each other, with Advik planting a gentle kiss on Yashvi's head.
Adya produced a photo frame she had assembled herself and handed it to them. It was an elegant white frame with two Polaroid photos of Yashvi and Advik, one taken during a recent mall outing where he was kissing her forehead, and the other from their engagement, with Advik looking at her. The frame was beautifully decorated with a calligraphed love quote and a real preserved rose.
The attached note read, "If it's meant to be, it will be."
"Is this the rose you asked me for?" Yashvi inquired, recalling how Adya had requested a rose her brother had given her a few days ago. Yashvi had reluctantly handed it over at the time but now felt happy that she had.
Yashvi embraced Adya warmly, planting a kiss on the young girl's head, making her giggle with delight.
"I've cleared your schedule for tomorrow," Advait declared with a wink, delighting both Yashvi and Advik, as they realized they had the whole day together.
"I wasn't sure what to give you both, so..." Adarsh began, presenting a box to them. Yashvi smiled, accepted it, and opened it. Inside was a personalized 3D illusion LED lamp engraved with their names and their wedding date.
"Turn it on," Adarsh requested. Advik glanced at him and then placed the lamp on his study table, switching it on. He was taken aback when he saw a picture of him and his wife displayed, which hadn't been visible before.
"I don't really know if it's useful or not, but it looked incredibly pretty, so I customized it," Adarsh said, rubbing his neck, earning a warm smile from Yashvi, who hugged him and side-hugged Advait.
"It's gorgeous. And more importantly, thank you for making so much effort for us," Yashvi said with a smile, caressing Advait's cheek, eliciting a goofy grin from him.
Advik couldn't help but smile as he looked at his siblings. He gave his sister a side-hug and his eyes settled on his wife, who radiated happiness, causing his heart to dance with joy.
