•FOUR•

As the days pass, Thalia and Noah keep getting closer and closer, their night talks was a habit they got accustomed to. Despite that, they both couldn't help thinking about how unusual their relation is, are they just listeners to each other? Or are they friends? But do they really look at each other like friends?

Those thoughts weren’t going through Thalia's mind at this moment, her thoughts were directed toward Noah of course but not his presence in her life she was thinking about his alarming and sudden disappearance. They have been talking nonstop for a couple of weeks, and they are getting to know each other really well, but it has been a week and he wasn't responding to her calls nor did she see him around, her worries were getting to her so she decided to just go up there and visit his house.

His mother opens the door after her third knock, and she tried to be as polite as she can be.

“Good morning Mrs. Walker.”

“Good morning Thalia, can I help you?” She asks with a sickly sweet smile.

“I actually came to ask about Noah, is he here?”

“No he isn’t, but please come in, I want to talk to you.” She came in indeed wondering why might Mrs. Walker want her.

“You see Thalia, you and my son are getting pretty close these days, and I consider you like a daughter to me, so I have to be completely honest with you, Noah, my son is à patient of OCD.”

“Um..yeah, I know that.” Her answers takes her by surprise but she didn't let it show and continued.

“Then why are you here? Why are you still talking with him? Is it pity?”

“No ma’am, I talk to your son because we are friends, and I appreciate who he is.”

“Friends? And you appreciate him?” She laughs and it sounds to Thalia like a failed attempt of being evil. “Well, I don't really know what you could appreciate in such a freak, but I hope you know what you are doing, dear.”

“Thanks for your care, but I do know what I'm doing, now if you excuse me, I have to go please tell Noah I passed by when he comes.” By this time she was trying with all of her willpower to maintain her anger and be polite. But what she says next, makes her stop in her track.

“If he comes back.” She says so calmly.

“What does this mean?” She asks on the edge of screaming.

“He hasn't come home for three days.” She answers shrugging.

“And you haven't thought about calling the police?” This woman is getting on her nerves really bad.

“No, why would I waste my time? He doesn't have anywhere to go, of course he will come back.”

“ARE YOU CRAZY, WOMAN? What kind of mom are you? Your son of your flesh and blood is missing and you are sitting there? Don’t you have any feelings? How could you treat your son that way? How could you blame him for something out of his hands? You are definitely not a mother, you don't even have a sense of humanity, you are a shame to the human specie.” With these words, Thalia leaves her shouting without a care of what she is saying.

For the longest hour in her life, she has been trying to remember every small detail that could tell her where he is but she couldn’t find any, she begin to think of just driving around in her car but she knew that it won’t get her anyway. Suddenly it clicks, the only place disorganised yet soothing. She runs like a mad woman to her car and drive it past the speed limit. She get there and see him sitting on bench enjoying the soothing voice of the crashing waves against the shore, she approaches him slowly relief washing over her.

“Give me a reason to not punch you in the face right now.” He looks at her,and a million emotions burst on his face, joy, happiness, relief, admiration,and..love?

“You have spent gas especially for me.” He tells her with a smile, as she sits next to him.

“Well, I guess you will have to pay for it later.” They stay in comfortable silence for a couple of minutes until he breaks it.

“Amazing.”

“Yeah it really is.” She answers looking at the line where the sky and sea meet. Then she turns toward him and catch him staring at her, realising what he meant she looks down and blushes.

“Um..I wanted to tell you something, so um..I may have shouted at your mother, I am sorry, actually not really, but she kind of deserved it.” He had an amused look and just shrugged in an ‘I don’t really care’ way.

“Well, I want to tell you something too, I may kind of like you.”

“Well, I may kind of like you too.” She looks at him and they laugh, then he sighs.

“Give me a reason to like someone like me.”

“Well, I have too many, but the most important one is that you are imperfect.”

“Imperfect?”

“Yeah, just like me and everyone else” she looks at him in his eyes “but it’s the imperfection of those we love that makes them perfect.”

The End.
