♚ Zayn's POV ♚

We had searched the entire Manor probably three times over and still couldn't find any clue that would lead us to Odette. Ivy had enlisted all of the Elites as well as the regular guards to help out with our search. Everyone had grown frustrated, particularly Ivy when she discovered the security cameras had been shut down all over the Manor just before Odette went missing. She nearly cussed out the guards until she realized another major asset that had been flawed at the party: the Elites.

"Where were all of you when this happened?" She demanded to know, several Elites trying to hide behind each other and others wincing at the sound of her anger.

I sighed as she yelled at her Elites more, rubbing my temples and walking down the hall to clear my mind. We had called Odette's mother, but she claimed Odette wasn't there. Someone had turned off all of the security cameras before Odette's disappearance. To make matters worse, apparently at the party the Elites were offered a few special cocktails by Seamus as a thank you for helping out with security and all got drunk as a result.

Things weren't looking good.

I sighed as my back slid against the hallway wall, my body lowering to a seated position on the floor as a migraine started forming. Where could she be?

It was just then I saw a blinding flash of light reflect from the floor.

I winced as the light blinded my eyes, but soon rushed over to see what was causing the reflection.

Odette's anchor ring laid all alone on the floor, next to a box that was half opened. A piece of fabric spilled out from the cardboard confinement, heavily embroidered with pretty designs.

My fingers picked up the small handkerchief, my nose picking up a sweet smell on the fabric. As I smelled the handkerchief I felt dizzy, my heart sinking when my mind pieced together what could've happened to my poor little swan.

Odette had been kidnapped at her seventeenth birthday party.

My fingers fumbled to find a tag on what must have been a fake present to her, my grip on the box tightening when I saw the familiar name.

I was going to kill Seamus Deeney.

♡ Odette's POV ♡

I had woken up the next morning with bruises on my arms and legs. Seamus had taken up his proposal of roughing up the hostage the day before, and I hated every second of it.

Now I seemed to be privileged with more company, Seamus pacing around the room while several of his men and a few girls guarded the door. I found that a little stupid, did they really think I was going to bust out of my chains and escape? I wasn't Ivy or any of the Elites.

I had no idea what time it was, but judging from the growling of my stomach, I had been here a while.

It had been so quiet in the room that t startled me when Seamus ceased his pacing and spoke to me.

"I wonder..." Seamus started with a chillingly monotone voice. "What would you say is your best physical feature?"

I was confused, not answering at first. Why would Seamus be asking me this? Was he only going to insult me more? Hurt me with his words again?

I was forced to answer with the rough tugging of my hair in Seamus' fist.

"Answer me when I'm talking to you. What does Zayn love most about your appearance?" He repeated, my head feeling like it was on fire from his harsh grip. I winced as he released my hair, my hands doing their best to rub at my sore scalp, despite still being chained.

"I-I don't know, he never said specifically." I admitted. Zayn had said all kinds of things he liked about me, but never one specific trait.

"That makes this easier then." Seamus replied coldly, snapping his fingers. Immediatly two male guards ran over to me, forcing me to lay on the bed so that my stomach was pressed to the mattress, my hair again being taken up roughly so my head was tilted up painfully. I let out a small whimper of pain, Seamus chuckling darkly as he poked at the fireplace with an iron metal tool. Turning to give me a dark smirk, he pulled the iron spike out of the fireplace and began to walk towards me.

Replacing the guard's hand in my hair with one of his own, Seamus' dull eyes stared into my own, his words aimed towards his accomplices.

"What do you think boys?"

The men seemed a little startled that Seamus was actually talking to them, but answered nonetheless.

"Uh, I-I don't know man..."

"Yeah..."

Seamus seemed displeased with their responses, a roll of his eyes the only response. He took another long glance into my eyes, and with a devilish smile, spoke.

"Her eyes. That's it." He smiled, reaching out to cup my flushed cheek with his palm. I tried pulling my face from his disgusting touch, but to no avail. I kept struggling, but froze when Seamus spoke next.

"I wonder if Zayn would still love you with one eye burned shut." And before I knew it, the hot metal iron was coming towards my face, my heart beginning to race. Frantic cries of help escaped me as I tried to get away from the burning piece of metal, its heat being felt inches away. I screamed as it got closer and closer, my eyes closing shut in fear.

"Stop!" I heard a voice yell, the heat source so close to my face moving away slowly.

I opened my eyes to see a teenage girl with dark hair covering half her face staring down Seamus. I hadn't noticed her in the corner of the room before.

"I thought you wanted to have the greatest hostage ever. If you burn her, Zayn won't want her, and she will be of no value to you." She spoke, bravely standing up on her own.

Seamus paused his movements, the iron still dangerously close to my face. I couldn't breathe as Seamus stood, pulling the iron away from me as he sauntered over to the brave girl. I let out a huge sigh of relief, my body shaking from fright.

"Is that right?" He spoke deeply, snapping his fingers again. The men restricting me released me, running over to their new captive. The girl's arms were taken and her knees knocked out from under her. She was forced to kneel in front of Seamus. The tables had turned.

"I don't like people talking out of line in the Revolution. We need soldiers who will wordlessly obey orders. I think you need a good lesson." Seamus spoke casually, but his words were anything but. I watched in amazement as the girl didn't put up any kind of fight, staring right into Seamus' eyes as he pulled the half of her hair covering her face up with his fist, preparing to inflict what was originally my punishment on her.

When her hair was pulled up, everyone froze.

The girl still bravely held Seamus' stare, Seamus becoming speechless as he stared at her face.

Healed burns covered the left half of her face, permanent red scars covering her cheeks and some of her eyelid. Seamus didn't move as he took her appearance in, the girl only chuckling darkly.

"I get burned by the King in his crop fields, now I get burned by the Revolution's Leader. How ironic." She laughed weakly. "Just do it. I bet I won't make a sound."

Seamus was truly, utterly speechless. For a few moments he didn't move, too stunned by this girl who had the guts and confidence to do what she just did. She had lost everything, so she had nothing to lose.

With a sigh, Seamus snapped his fingers again, and the girl was released. She was a fiery spirit, pushing at the men and fixing her hair with a few choice words. Seamus stared at her for a moment before walking out of the room, his thugs following behind him. The only ones left in the room were the girl and me.

She stared down at me, her eyes dark and emotionless.

"T-thank you." I stuttered, still trying to calm the sobs racking through my body.

The brave girl only stared at me for a few seconds before looking behind her, checking to make sure no one saw her. She swiftly rushed over to me, pulling something out of her jacket pocket.

It was an apple and a granola bar.

She pressed them into my chained hands, her dark eyes seeming more friendly than they had a few moments ago.

"It's not much, but it's all I could get on short notice. He would kill me if I let you starve."

And after that the girl didn't say anything, only gave me a small smile before walking out like the others.

Who was she?
