The Morning After
*Later that night.*
"So, I think this is the part where I say 'I told you so.'"
"What did you tell me?" I roll my eyes slightly, as I'm about to hear myself nag me to death.
"I told you that AJ was coming back, that you wanted her to come back, that you still wanted to be her friend, that you still miss her. Need I go on?"
"Whatever. It doesn't change anything."
"Hello? Didn't she take the Divas title from you? Like, hours ago? I think it changes something a little bit." I haven't thought about my title for awhile now.
"What side are you on? First, you're saying that I miss her. Now you're saying that..... what are you even saying?"
"I'm saying that the dynamics of your friendship changes."
"What friendship?! There is no friendship anymore!" If I was talking out loud, I would be waking up people in the room, if there were any.
"Let me finish. Now that she has the championship, there's nothing she has against you, and you two can be friends again. And don't say 'I don't want to be friends with her,' because we both know you do."
"How do you know?"
"I know your thoughts, Saraya. I think everything you think."
I stay quiet for a moment. "I would have no problem with being her friend. In fact, we could be friends right now, had she not taken my championship."
"What goes around, comes around."
"Yeah, okay."
I hop out of the shower and make my way to the bed. It's too early for me to sleep. I want go out and get a drink, but I don't feel safe going out by myself at 11:29 at night. I take my phone out and check if there are any notifications, and there were a lot. Most we're from social media--primarily about tonight, some were text messages--primarily how I "put up a good fight", and one missed call from Alicia. I don't know a whole lot about her, but what I do know is that she's a cool person, so I'm gonna call back.
A: Hello?
P: Hey, I know it's late, but I wanna return your call from earlier before it skips my mind.
A: Oh, it's never too late, Paige. I just wanted to see how you were feeling after the show and if you wanted to talk.
P:Is that talk still up for grabs?
A:What's your room number?
P: 523, 5th floor.
A: I'll be right there.
P: Thanks, Foxy.
Within a few minutes, there was knock on my door. I smiled as I open the door to see Alicia holding some bottles. Oh hell yeah.
*the next morning*
I wake up with a loud banging sound in my head. And as if I couldn't hear drums pounding in there, I taste alcohol in my mouth, proving that I was hungover from last night. Great for me. On top of that, I have to work tonight. Speaking of work makes me think back to last night. April. My title. Her stealing it from me. That bitch. Ugh, I'll fuss about her later when I feel better.
I sit up and start to instantly regret it. My head starts hurting even more, so I get up and stand straight up, immediately standing still so I won't get dizzy easily. Then, slowly but surely, I walk over to the mini fridge and take out some bottled water, and then a travel size bottle of asprins from my suitcase. I downed them both in no time; I still don't feel all that hot, but I can fully open my eyes and look around.
I see that the room isn't as wrecked as I thought. There are 2 bottles on the floor, beds are unmade, clothes scattered around, 2 pizza boxes, and a sleeping Alicia on the floor. I walk over and wake her up. She grumbles something, but eventually wakes up and gets up. She stretches then looks at me.
"Morning, beautiful." She says before engulfing me in a hug.
"Morning, Foxy." I say while hugging her back.
"Last night crazy fun! You are officially my go to person when I want to have a good time." She lets go of me and I chuckle. I was about to say thank you, but she beat me to it. "I have to get going, but do you feel better?" What? Why?
"Why would I feel down?"
"Well, considering that you just lost the championship to AJ last night and you were really angry and down about it." She's not wrong. I was angry at first, but now I realize being angry isn't going to get me anywhere if I want my baby back. The title, I mean.
"Yeah, I feel a lot better now. Thanks." "Good, now go take a hot shower. It helps with hangovers, sometimes." We let go and Foxy looks at the medium sized alarm clock on the side of the bed. She looks at it and she looks a bit surprised. "Shit. I have to get going," she looks up at my confused face. "I told Nattie and the girls I'd go with them to the gym to get ready for tonight."
"Aww I'd hate to see you go so soon... and so hungover." I laugh lightly, and she joins in, too. "Oh girl, I drank an acceptable amount last night. You on the other hand..." She trails off and walks to the door, me following close behind. I laugh it off, mostly because it's very true. I think a bottle and a half of vodka is at least what I had. Eh, no regrets.
Alicia walks to the door and turn towards me with a look as if she just had the most brilliant idea ever.
"You should come with me. You can work out all of that alcohol out of your system and we could still hang out." She smiles widely. It sounds good, but I'll probably get too tired. After a minute of thinking, I decide that I'm not gonna go.
"Sorry, Foxy. Maybe next time." I say, and she frowns.
"Oh, boo. Well, I'll be in the hotel gym if you need me. I'll call you later." she says, hugging me afterwards.
After hugging me, she leaves and I close the door to walk over to the bathroom. I most definitely need a warm shower.
I start to run the water, and in the meantime I start to strip down and take my hair out the ponytail, letting it flow Dow my back.
Once I'm ready, I step in and I stand there for a moment and I start to think.
"Foxy's seems really nice, and last night was really crazy, wasn't it?"
"Yeah I guess so. And I wouldn't call our fun last night 'crazy'. Crazy is getting turnt to the point where the cops are called." I say back to myself as I start using body wash.
"I'm not talking about your excessive drinking and rotting of your lungs," I roll my eyes at myself and chuckle.
"Then what are you talking about?" I lightly massage in the conditioner into my hair.
"I'm talking about how you drunk dialed AJ." I stop dead in my tracks. I misheard my thought. I had to.
"I did what?" I ask in disbelief, starting to rinse soap suds off of me.
"You...Drunk...Called...April." My thought says sarcastically. I turn off the water, hop out of the shower, grab my towel, and make my way over to my bed in one swift movement. I don't believe it. I don't want to believe it.
On my bed is my lifeless phone, but a phone that's not mine is plugged into my charger. I tap the home button to see a picture of Alicia as the lock screen. Foxy left her phone. I have to go and bring it to her.... right after I find out if I actually drunk dialed AJ last night.
This overwhelming feeling of panic and fear starts to consume me; I really hope I didn't do what I think I did. I pick up my phone as I sit on the bed. But, as luck would have it, the phone is dead. Just perfect. Now I have to wait until it's charged enough to where I can turn my phone on. And considering the type of shape my charger is in, it'll take a good while.
In the meantime, I'll have to get ready to give Alicia back her phone. I get up and head over to my suitcase to pull out a quick gym fit, even though I'm going there for a quick second.
*time skip*
Putting a headband on my still damp hair, which is in two space buns, I walk out of my room with my small book bag on, carrying things I need but don't feel like carrying in my hands or pockets.
I head down the hall and to the elevator, pressing the 1st floor button; the ride was short, only going down 5 floors. I walk out and over to the front desks in the lobby. I ask them where the gym was in the building. The lady politely points in its direction and that's where I go.
I walk into the gym, and I take in how beautiful it looks. It's a great mixture of nude and streaks of coral here and there. The patterns are greatly sculpted, and the equipments look brand new. It's breathtaking.
As I'm looking around, my eyes land on Alicia, who is talking with Natalya, Eva, Ariane, and Trinity. It's not that I have a problem with the girls-- it's the fact that they have a problem with me. They claim that I cut to the front of the diva's championship line and that I am given opportunities without working for it. That's their problem, And no matter how much I try to tell them that it's not true, they don't listen. And because of that, I've been given up trying to get on their good side or try and get along with them.
I start walking over to them, grabbing the attention of Eva. She taps Alicia and points at me, grabbing the rest of their attentions. Alicia greets me with a smile and a wave, while the others give me either eye rolls or blank stares.
"You decided to come!" Foxy greets, and before I could respond, Ariane beats me to it. "You invited her?"
"Yeah. I had fun with her last night and I wanted the fun to keep going." I love how independent Foxy is from others. She makes decisions because she wants to, not caring what others think.
"Well, I'm not actually staying that long I just need to pull Foxy really quick. Won't be a moment." I finish with a pull on her forearm as I lead her away from the group. I take my backpack off and start talking to her. "Did you realize you left your phone in my room?" Her eyes go wide.
"Really? I thought I left it in my room." she chuckles. I pull out her phone and hand it to her. "Thank you for bringing it to me." she pulls me in for a hug, which I accept.
We let go after a moment to which she looks at me with puppy dog eyes, "Now are you sure you can't stay? I would really love it if you did." This girl really wants to spend time with me.
I smile but slightly shake my head. "I'm sorry, hun, but your friends wouldn't like it too much if I joined."
She rolls her eyes "Oh, fuck what they like. You would be working out with us for me, not them." I laugh a little.
Before I could give my answer, Foxy looks up past my shoulder and her eyes widen yet again as she looks back at me. "I totally forgot to mention... she's been here working out." My heart drops and it's now my turn for my eyes to go wide. I don't even have to look to know who she's talking about. I can't face her, not unless I know for a fact nothing happened last night.
"Alright, Foxy. I have to get out of here. Like now. I'll talk to you later, okay?" I say as it comes out a rushed mess.
"Okay. Is everything okay?"
"I don't think so. I think I drunk dialed her last night."
"You WHAT?" I nod in response, because that's exactly how I reacted.
"I'm coming with you. Let me get my stuff." she rushes away before I could even protest.
Taking a small chance, I turn my head to try and glance at where April might be. Quickly, I find her on the treadmill running at a fast pace, all by herself.
I think she could feel eyes on her, because she slowly stops running and looks around breathing heavily. Eventually, her eyes land on me, and she smirks, then hops off of the machine and starts walking towards me. Oh, fuck.
Thankfully for me, Alicia comes back over and takes my arm into her hand, rushing us both out of the gym. We get through the lobby and into the elevator without being stopped, thank goodness.
But, before the elevator doors close, I have a clear view of April evilly grinning at me before walking back into the room. I. am. Screwed.
