Chapter Two

School was lame as usual, up until a fight happened during lunch between two girls. It was a fun entertaining thing to watch. I could see the crowds of my fellow student's swarm around the two girls like we were in the ancient gladiator days shouting for the next kill. Except for the fact that these students weren't actually killing each other. It was more along the lines of hair pulling and a screaming match.

After school me and Ana headed to Starbucks to meet Blair and Prue.

I'd known the two since freshman year in P.E. class. We got paired up on a basketball team one day and had never parted since. I introduced them to Ana and we all just clicked. Everyone in our group had a special quality about them: Ana was the excited, loud, and social one in our group; Blair was the brains and serious when need to be one; Prue was the athletic, strong one; and well, I guess I was the one who brought everyone together.

In the car I could see Ana twirling her hair with her finger in deep thought.

"Everything okay." I said as I stopped at a red stop sign.

"No, well not really a problem or anything like that." She said as she continued to twirl her hair.

I knew Ana like the back of my hand. Any minute now she was going to explode with information. Id give it five seconds.

Her body turned fully my way at the drivers seat. Right on que. "Okay so there's party to go to by this guy I meet at church. He was pretty hot by the way. Anyways, he gave me the directions and said I could bring as many people as I wanted."

I looked at her as she gave me a cheeky smile. "You talked to a guy, which you were probably hitting on, in a church? I mean couldn't you have waited until you got out?" I said shaking my head.

"Oh come on, it will be fun."

We pulled in front of Starbucks and I could see Prue and Blair sitting outside at the steel tables. "Like the last time we went to Gary's party?"

She bit the bottom of her lip. "That was one time. I promise it won't happen again." Batting her eyelashes at me.

"I still can't get that puke stain out on the floor of my back seat."

She then started to whimper like a puppy dog and give me a sad big bug-eyed look. I laughed and finally gave in. "I swear Ana if you just so much as drive heave or even look like you're going to puke, you're going to wash my car for two weeks." I said as I scolded her as if she was my child.

"Deal." She raised her hand to her mouth puckering her lips as if she was going to spit in it to seal the deal.

"What are we in Elementary school? I aint shaking your hand if you spit in it." I said as a chuckle exited from my lips.

"Just like old times."

"When and where is this great party of yours?" I said avoiding the spit hand.

"It's on Friday out on the county side of out town. I have the directions on that paper I had here somewhere." She grabbed her bag and started rummaging through. "Aha here it is!" Waving it in the air like it was a golden ticket.

Getting out of the car we walked towards the other two. Prue had always been the tall one in are group with long sleek dirty brown hair that was halfway at her back and had the cutest freckles that kissed her nose. Although Blair was the shortest one, that never stopped her from standing out as her clear light complexion made her icy blues pop. She was always changing her hair color. She told me she liked doing that because she wanted it to match her mood. Today it was jet black.

"Took you long enough," Prue said sipping on her drink.

"Yeah, you guys did. I'm already done," Blair agreed as she shook her up letting us know it was empty.

"I'm going to get a chocolate mocha Frappuccino." I said as I grabbed my wallet.

"Can you get me a caramel mocha Frappuccino?" Ana asked giving me her money.

She handed me her money and walked to the entrance. As soon as I stepped inside I felt the cool breeze hit me cooling of my sweat from the dry heat of Arizona.

Getting in line, spotted the most gorgeous looking guy I had ever seen sitting alone at the corner of one of the stalls. His chestnut hair shined through the sun that beamed through the window upon him. I swallowed hard at the sight of his well groomed appearance. He was perfection, as if he walked right out of a model magazine.

I kept glancing at him every chance I got while getting closer to the cashier. I couldn't help myself. It was like I was hypnotized by his beauty. My brain kept telling me to look back as my heart fluttered and felt completed at the sight of this stranger. It almost made me want to cry. I've never felt this way before.

"Hi what can I get you."

I quickly snapped out of my daze as I felt someone tap my shoulder.

"Excuse me, you're next, an older looking woman with furrowed brows said as I turned my head.

I went up to the cashier. "I'm so sorry about that."

"It's okay, I was staring at him too," she smiled as she glanced towards the stranger.

"So, what would you like besides a cup of him?" she looked again.

I could feel the sensation of my cheeks flushing pink, but all I could do was laugh it off. The lady looked to be in her late 30s with light curly reddish hair that stuck out beneath her cap. This lady isn't even my mom and she was embarrassing me.

I took a quick look over to him to see if he heard her. Still sitting there not looking at me. Thank gosh!

"One chocolate mocha frap, and one caramel mocha frap please," I said.

Waiting for my name to be called I sat on the opposite end of the building so I could stare no longer at him as people crowded their way in between us.

"Gracie!" One of the employers shouted.

I grabbed my drinks and managed to take one more look before leaving but his seat was now occupied by a couple with him nowhere in sight.

I looked around like the weirdo I am, but he was gone just like that.

Before I could even snap my head forward to the exit door I bumped into someone that had me nearly fall flat on my ass. I felt hands, soft cold hands reach under and grab ahold of me.

I looked up and it was him. My breath quickened at the sight. He was more breath taking up close. His skin looked silky white like porcelain as his light green like emerald rubies with a hint of gold like color around the pupil focused on me. I'd never seen eyes like that.

"Sorry about that," I said softly as I straightened my posture back up.

"No worries." he said.

His voice was terribly amazing, giving me goosebumps all over.

"You should pay attention to where your walking," He smiled at me.

I hope he didn't see me staring at him like a stalker—I'd rather fall than that, how humiliating.

"My name is Aiken." He held out his hand.

"Gracie." I managed to say.

As are hands touched a shock of static erupted between them that sent an energetic wave that ran through my arm.

I didn't want our small talk or what ever this was that was happing to end. "So, do you go to school around here?"

"Yeah, I just enrolled yesterday at North High. I'm heading there to get my papers today for my classes actually." Gliding his hands through his hair.

The brows shot up all the way to the top of my forehead. He was going to the same school I was in. "That's where I go too." I bit my lip to hid the excitement.

His eyes widen. "Oh yeah, maybe you could show me around one of these times."

"Most definitely!" I said in a high pit voice that I soon regretted. I needed to go before I embarrassed myself more. Relax Gracie keep it cool. "I better get back to my friends."

"Ill see you around then, yeah?" Giving me a lopsided grin as his eyes poured into my soul. I could melt right there.

We both parted ways as he walked off in one direction and I another.

Walking back to the table, all of them were gawking at me.

"Who was that?" Blair said with a smirk on her face.

"Id like a piece of him for sure." Pure cut in right after.

Before I could even speak a word, Ana interrupted.

"Please tell me you got his number."

I took a sip of my drink and sat down. "No, but he will be going to our school." I said grinning from ear to ear.

"No way!" Blair shot up from slouching.

"He's going to be the talk of the school." Ana chimed in as she slurped her frap.

Out of all the schools in our town Aiken found his way right into ours. This was too good to be true.

"Oh yeah, did you guys hear what happened?" Blair said, leaning closer to us. "A group of bodies were found along the outskirts of Phoenix torn to shreds. My dad said they're still trying to find out who the bodies are, and which body part belongs to who."

I could only image what the scene was like when Mr. Steel seen the horrific incident. Blairs dad has been an officer since she could remember.

"Oh shit, really?" Ana said.

The news gave me an unsettling feeling. "Maybe we shouldn't go." I said looking at Ana.

"Go were?" Blair cocked her head.

"Ana wants to go to this party she got invited to at church." I said in a low voice as Ana kept ranting on about it.

"This party is going to be huge you guys! I'm going, ain't nothing stopping me." She crossed her arms.

Silence filled the air as I looked away trying not to give in to Ana's pouty face again.

"Not even torn up bodies?" Prue finally said.

"Hell no, besides people around this town are super dramatic with their stories, no offence to your dad Blair."

Blair shrugged her shoulders. "No taken, he can be over the top sometimes let's be honest."

A small chuckle erupted in the group breaking the tension.

It was true. The fact that her dad had her, not only carry pepper spray everywhere she went, but she also even told us one time that he called in an unknown aircraft flying around the town. Turned out it was just a small robotic drone.

"Well, we can't just let dumb-dumb here go by herself." I said, giving in to Ana once again.

She shot up from her seat and gave a fist bump in the air. "Its going to be fun guys!"

Prue gave a sigh. "I guess."

"Yeah, we obviously can't let Ana go by herself... she'll probably get all drunk and pass out somewhere," Blair said with sarcasm.

"Or worse, throw up in someone's car." I gave a smirk at her as she rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, remember when she got so shit-faced at the Back To School Party I had at my house, and Ana ended up falling asleep on my grandma's porch a couple blocks down the road," Prue said as we all gave a loud belly laugh.

"Yeah, yeah very funny. Laugh it up." Ana said but even she could help but join in.

I could see the masculine figure approaching me. His blurred face soon became clear.

"Aiken," I whispered.

His piercing green eyes burned through my aching heart. He was magnificently beautiful. He reaches his hand to me and spoke one word. One soft haunting word.

"Gracie."

Gasping for air I caught myself from falling on the floor of my room. Still in a daze I laid myself back on my pillow throwing the blanket off of me to cool my hot sweaty body. Why was I having these recurring dreams for? And now Aiken was a part of it. My mind wanted to peace the puzzles together, but my eye lids gave in as I drifted back to sleep.
