{ Nine }
*Sin POV*
"Does it hurt a lot?" The features of his face softened as he tried to locate where exactly in my shoulder the bullet was.
"The only thing that hurts is looking at that pathetic face of yours." I rolled my eyes in annoyance but stopped when I saw him look down sadly and nod humbly.
"Hoseok baby, my darling, you know I didn't mean that. Stop being such a fucking pussy." I shook my head at him and he nodded again, silently grabbing the bullet with sterilized tweezers. It actually did hurt as he started to pull it out from the inflamed muscles that it was so deeply lodged into.
"Tsk, you're such a bully, little crow." The smooth and purely seductive voice had me smiling immediately. I reached my hand out and felt a bottle of alcohol being placed in it.
"And you, Nina, are a dirty but darling saviour." I leaned my head up and drank a few long sips of the strong alcohol. I lent back with a heavy sigh, staring up at the ceiling as Hoseok removed the bullet and prepared to disinfect the wound.
"Nina….where's that half-metal face of yours?" I laughed and her head appeared above me, her piercing-filled face still attractive for some reason.
"Why are you so careless, Sin? Hmm?" She sent me a disapproving look, her eyebrows raising in a way that made her piercings move. Unsettling but hot.
"It's not me, I didn't think that old man would have the shriveled-up balls to actually shoot me.” I shook my head in disappointment and she sighed in disbelief. Wew, the alcohol is getting to the foreplay.
“You need to decide what you want.” Nina lent down so her face was much closer to me. Upside down, but closer.
“What are you talking about?” I hissed in pain as Hoseok applied disinfectant to the already burning gun-shot wound. I downed a few more gulps of the smoky bourbon and exhaled deeply.
She sighed again and leant up, scratching the shaved part of her head. “You either have Jungkook for yourself or you use him to get that damn hotel. What do you want? A pussy of a man or the vintage landmark where your mother was-“
“Stop talking.” I looked away from her face and felt my jaw tensing up. That’s not why I wanted the place, although it would be a nice bonus knowing that the lobby of the old establishment was stained with my mother’s blood. Unloving whore.
“Hoseok are you done?” I lifted my head up and looked at him as he was tying up the bandages.
“Yes. Don’t move it too much for a few days.” He grabbed the dirty bandages and tools before bowing and leaving the room.
I looked at the door that he had just gone through, catching a glimpse of Jin on the other side, leaning against the wall. He's so quiet and serious while Hoseok is such a wimp. Why can't I have a normal man?
“I know why I want Jungkook so much.” I slowly sat up and swung my legs over the edge of the table. I looked up at Nina, her face showing both humour and sarcasm.
“It’s because he’s normal.” I smiled slightly as I remembered the emotions he had felt in the sparce encounters we shared.
“He can love, cry and feel fear. Those are things you and I don’t get to experience.” I looked down to the ground, feeling a strange sense of longing.
“You...you think he can bring you back?” Nina staggered towards me, her delicate brows furrowed in denial and confusion.
“Either that or he’ll die trying.” I smiled faintly to her and the room fell silent. I studied her unique features and soon found myself lost in thought.
It must feel so nice...to tremble in fear. To cry when you think a loved one is going to be taken away from you. It must be so different to the laughter that normally escapes my mouth when people die.
“Nina….let’s go.” I slowly eased myself down from the cold medical table and stood on the ground firmly. My left shoulder as it rested was almost completely useless but I was right-handed and Nina was more skilled than anyone I knew.
“Is that wise...don’t you think you should wait and assess the situation? You’re not untouchable you know.” She stepped forward and placed her hand on my arm, her Ivy green nails shimmering in the cold white light of the tiled room.
“Someone like him...needs to be protected from the world. He needs to be sheltered from all the people that want to take advantage of him.” I grabbed her hand and intertwined my fingers with hers. She looked down at our connected hands, her deep eyes were hazy and unreadable but her expression gave off a vibe of misfortune.
“I can do that. I can protect him.” I smiled wider, my mind already thinking ahead of everything we would do together. All the things I would teach him.
“And maybe, just maybe in the process I accidentally corrupt him.”
