✧JEALOUS PUREBLOOD✧

In reality, Aria had turned busy with her Wolfsbane testings. Difficult at best and time-consuming. It made it truly difficult considering there was one full moon a month, which meant that there needed to be different versions of one test to make it worth the month wait time.
However, in the end, she needed to speak to her lawyer. And at the moment that meant she needed Radolphous, and goddess it was almost a blessing when she didn't run into Rabastan, and she rolled her eyes at the idea of him distracting himself over his mate's.
Though the thought suddenly washed over her, was he with his mates or his Dark Lord?
Being so in thought, she had only really knocked on the door and walked in—She stood still in reaction to see Radolphous with another wizard. "Ah, what can I do for you, darling?" He cooed, clearly having taken a drink or two this bloke.
Yet with that go-ahead she came forward with the folder in hand.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I rather deliver these in person...Thank you again for doing this so quickly, Mr.Lestrange." He always responded with the same verse or the other, 'you're like family,' but it was usually saved for times when he has firewhiskey in his veins.
Like today.
"And who is this? You're holding out on me, mate?" Aria smiled politely to the bloke and extended her hand. "Aria Crawford, I'm sorry I didn't properly knock. Clarissa said I could right on up."
"Antonin Dolohov, we weren't doing much...Nothing to worry about your pretty little head over, love...Say, care for a drink?" He questioned, walking towards the globe of goodies and her eyes turned off towards Radolphous.
"I'm sure Ms.Crawford is busy with her assignments...I'll owl you once I finish these, tomorrow at the latest."
"Please, even I know a business day doesn't include a Saturday. Take your time, and if you could pass this along for me?" It earned her a laugh to see that it was for his son, but he silently nodded along. And she said her thanks with a small kiss to his cheek and a grateful smile.
"Good day Mr.Dolohov."
"It was a pleasure...And don't be a stranger! Pretty gals like you are always welcomed!"
"I think I'm a little young for you sir, but I'm flattered." She said with a final wink and a wave, and better yet she had continued off and away—Yet just as Radolphous had expected, Dolohov had sat at the ready.
"Don't you bloody—"
"I want her owl."
"—Dare. She's not interested. Take the no." Dolohov rolled his eyes and reached for the folder to get the details and Radolphous had acted quick enough before slamming his draw closed.
"This is sensitive information about a highly successful potion mistress."
"Oh? And why is she calling your wife by first name? I'd say you're much closer than that...The gift?" He thought for a moment, wondering what Aria could possibly gift his son.
But that was non of his business, and so he shrugged.
"She's not interested in looking for a husband."
"Ah, see—So even you tried to get into her sheets? I will say her arse—"
"Enough! I did not accept this meeting to talk about Crawford."
"Oh but we are here to talk about wives, and I'm in search of a potential one as you're more than aware. She's a half-blood?" The question remained unanswered and he smirked. "That or the other, you wouldn't work with mudbloods. I'll find her address on my own, course you could make my life a little easier if you would please?"
"The answer is no, Dolohov. And I've told you, Eliza Fawley is graduating in two years."
"But two years...? I could have Aria now."
"Enough of this! She's with my son and that's that! Get out of my manor, Dolohov." The smirk and wink caused before he sauntered out.
Even worse, Aria had soon followed in with her arms crossed over one another. "I take it you heard?"
"I would like to keep the list of weirdos off my arse, thank you."
"You're around a new view of men, Aria, they seek the younger years to birth them children. It's nothing abnormal, I promise you that."
"Oh, right...I'm a breeder—Thank you for putting it in better terms."
"If he owls you, tell me. I'll sort through it, he's best mate's with Rodolphous, there isn't anything to truly worry about."
"Yes, I just love it when men gawk at my arse like it's theirs to own. And yes, I am with your son. So thank you for shouting that to the world."
"How is that an issue?"
"Because between you and I? You would only want purebloods to mingle with that way, and that is surely giving Mr.Dolohov a run for his money. Or am I wrong? Somewhere deep down would you let your son be with a half-blood?" The man remained silent and she sighed further, taking up the large seat that the fellow before her had occupied.
"Who is it anyhow?"
"Like I said, he's my eldest son's best mate...He came over looking for a wife."
"Oh, and that's how that works? Isn't he a lil old to be searching?"
"Yes, and you're right he is too old for you. His previous wife died in childbirth just a few years ago...He's a widow." Aria's mouth parted and instant regret rang in her heart, her eyes shot towards the door in worry.
Goddess, she didn't need to be a bitch to him.
"There's nothing to worry about, he's used to it."
"No, I need to apologize. That was uncalled for what I said, surely there's some eligible gals around?"
"We were discussing one in particular, but the last time I checked, she was going to your brother Regulus." It took all of one moment to realize that a betrothal document needed a write-up.
And who else would one go to other than a Lawyer in the sacred twenty-eight?
"You have them all on record, don't you?"
"Of course, my signature lays on half this generation's unions. Fawley is one of the many options." Aria ran through a list in her head before smiling up a storm. "Eliza? Oh, she's an angel, a little racist for my part but a sweetheart non the less." Radolphous had almost forgotten that Aria would indeed know a fraction of the ladies in school and thus she made up a list of Slytherin gals just for the record of helping the old man.
And just as she left for the evening, Rabastan came strolling right alone in with the smell of smoke and liquor on his person. "This arrived for you this afternoon." His father claimed, and sure it sounded like a work order.
"When is it due by?"
"Oh, I'd say earliest as possible, your little bird was here—Just missed her I'm afraid." That certainly got Rabastan's reaction as he ran his thumb across Aria's penmanship.
"Did she say anything of where she was the past few days?"
"Hmm, apparently there were a few fights in his labs. Sounds stressful that she's looking to mandate a private facility to move her own team. Load of work for a young witch to handle on her own...I recommended doing it with a partner, with that Hanson fellow at the least. But he's already come out of retirement once, she doesn't want to pull him out again."
"Merlin, she won't ever slow down...Will she?" The father shrugged his shoulders, it was truly hard to see Aria in any other light now that he had gotten to know the gal for who she is.
"She'd make a wonderful mother in the future, wouldn't she?" Radolphous asked with a smirk on his face, and Rabastan could only groan into the air.
"The best. I'd sell my soul to—"
"Sell your soul later, Dolohov is interested in your witch. This is your chance to prove that you'll protect her, even when you marry her...That won't stop the majority of our population, not when you have a ring on her finger."
This caused his son to frown and he groaned even worse.
"They'll be more inclined to want her..."
"Hmm, you don't think your mother had suitors after we were married? It's why your brother is just as old as our marriage." Now he certainly didn't want to think about that.
"Even if I did marry Ari, she wouldn't want children right away, father. And if I recall you were twenty—"
"Age doesn't matter, acting fast will. But we'll continue this conversation for your wedding day." It was a beautiful thought, sure, to picture Aria adorably pregnant with his child.
Merlin, he wanted it now.
Perhaps he could try manifesting it to become a reality...Surely the gods could be a little lenient to give him a helping hand. All things considering, he was Aria's soul mate after all.
*
After the previous time, Aria was not prepared to tend to the Marauder's injuries. Though this time Rabastan and his mates didn't have the gull to come, not when Avery was meant to not know where her manor was.
With the secret out in the open, Sirius had gotten the full tour that he demanded while the rest slept in the guest rooms. Aria made a small comment of leaving soon to America for the weekend, and of course that made her brother antsy—But it was only due to the fact that Thanksgiving was just around the corner.
An American tradition that she missed terribly, besides, the little visit her family had given her just the other month wasn't enough.
She wanted to enjoy the company of her family, which Sirius could hardly blame her. Not when she filled him in on the previous acts of Walburga Black.
Though the days had become jumbled together, and it turned out that Aria arriving in Salem caused a rather quick frenzy—She apologized to Rabastan that she was going to a few conventions and didn't know when she'd be back, so when December 20th rolled around and he still had seen her in person...
He was starting to worry.
Yet his worries washed away when he caught sight of both Wyatt and Aria in his hallway talking to his mother. An odd sight indeed, especially when Wyatt had run up to him with an excited grin on his face.
"I went on a date!" His glance betrayed him as Aria's face fell into her hands as she laughed alongside Clarissa. "Sweetheart, how about you say hi first...Yeah?"
"Oh goddess, I'm sorry 'Bas—It's just I told him in our letters about the gal in my year...I went for it, just like you said!" Now that certainly drove Aria to tilt her head.
"And what type of advice is this bloke telling you behind my back, and why wasn't I the first to know?"
"Because you don't know about asking a gal out mum, duh! Lads do...And it worked!" Clarissa had placed a hand gently on Aria's shoulder as the Badger started to take up most of Rabastan's attention, and he didn't mind it.
Not when his heart was settled just by the act of seeing her for the first time in awhile.
"When did this semester end?"
"I came home this morning, the manor is so big 'Bas. It's amazing! But I wanted to come and tell you about Rebecca first, and mum wanted to see you too so...Shite, I wasn't supposed to say that." It was clear that Wyatt could keep a secret when he was this excited.
"And did your mother tell you what she's planning to do this holiday?"
"Well since she's spent so much time in America, she's staying here for Christmas. Can I come to the New Years party? I saw mum got an invitation." He thought for a moment who was hosting the party, and if he was being truly honest...It wasn't safe for the lad.
"I doubt you'd want to come to those, they're for adults and—Oh cheer up. Wouldn't you rather hang out with Jacob?" The Slytherin wasn't managing to make a compelling argument. Though the idea of 'him not being welcomed' was at all what a child his age should hear.
And when Aria returned from the discussion she was having with Clarissa, she clapped her hands. "Your mother's persuaded me to stay for dinner, Wyatt, would you like to—"
"Can I stay too?" Aria noted that there wasn't any hesitation in Rabastan's decision to have Wyatt stay as well.
Sure it took a few moment's for Senior Lestrange to get used to the idea of Aria being called mum by a thirteen-year-old lad, he had to remind himself that this could perhaps be her only chance at mothering a child.
So he humored the lot, and Clarissa was surprised that she didn't even have to warn her husband to be kind. If anything the little Badger was exceptionally welcoming and polite.
Course when Rodolphous arrived to the manor, his first instinct was to rush over to Loki instead of greeting Wyatt.
"Who's that?" He whispered up towards Rabastan, and the fellow laughed. "That's my older brother, Rolf—Merlin sakes leave Loki alone. Come and meet Wyatt." It was difficult to pry the wolf away from a newfound friend, but his loyalty remained with Wyatt and thus that gave Rolf the interest to meet said Badger.
Yet Loki's true allegiance was to Aria, and once she returned into the room she greeted Rolf politely.
"No stealing my pup, Rolf."
"No promises, Cassi...Funny, I don't think I've seen you around this parts in awhile." She shook her head and explained that she spent some time in America.
"Sounds a bit sudden, going off to America when all hell is breaking loose inside this lad's head." She turned towards Rabastan with a guilty expression.
"I'm sorry, I didn't really plan to stay all that long...Did you get my letters?"
"Yes, rather short for my taste...Perhaps you'll make it up to me later this week for a date?" She perked her lips and Wyatt laughed.
"Can 'Bas celebrate Yule with us?"
"You wouldn't mind darling?"
"No, and Rolf is cool too. I love it when the table's filled up, please mum?" Her eyes flickered off towards the brothers and they bother shared the same delighted smile.
"I wouldn't mind seeing Crawford Manor." Rolf teased and Rabastan nodded his head as well. "Same here, brother." Course it startled the eldest among them, however with that in mind Aria would need to make a much bigger dinner than she planned.
While they still had a few days in between, Aria had soon sent out her invitation to her first party. After having discussed with the long list of people on how to properly mandate a party and all.
"How the bloody hell am I suppose to go to her manor if the address isn't even on the card?" Rabastan grumpled, he and his family had gotten two invitations. Course he assumed Rolf got a set as well, but Avery sighed and flipped the back around. In golden script it says:
My address will appear the morning of...
"Clearly she doesn't want people popping in, and what I hear from Clem—She's still fixing it up."
"The party is in a week, hell Christmas is much sooner. Rolf and I are supposed to go for brunch or something. Goddess, why are these plans never set in stone?" His lads laughed at him but stopped abruptly as they made their way into the main room.
Many were dressed in the same black-cloaked robes with metal faces plastered on to hide their identities. But it was fairly obvious who was who among them as to where they stood and at what rank.
They stood at attention and waited for their Lord to start the meeting, and alas—It began.
Most of them started with the usual propaganda, to remind them of what their main goal was and ensure the survival of their kind. However, as the entertainment of captured Auror's had managed to be placed and held down, the true fun began.
Rabastan blocked any thought of Aria from his head, he learned that any doubt in his mind would cause his curses to diminish. As though Aria had the power to weaken the torture he gives from anywhere in the world.
He was thankful that she never asked question about what being a Death Eater is, and frankly, he just assumed she didn't care. But Aria did care, especially in the morning when she'd be forced to look at the aftermath of what the hell they were up to.
Currently however, Rabastan had to ignore the calls for help as the Death Eaters around him had taken advantage of the witches among the Auror group. But Avery just chuckled as he eyed Rabastan's disgust.
"We're not getting any action anyway 'Bas." Avery teased, but that earned him what he could only assume to be a pointed look. "I like my witches wanting me, not this shite." He growled, he'd never condone rape.
"From what I can see, she doesn't want you either." McNair laughed beside him and made Rabastan's gaze turn the other direction with an added frown.
"She wants me, shush up."
"Oh yeah, terribly, she's moaning your name now in the bath." Avery teased, and it was giving him a headache the way they were teasing him while this was happening in front of them.
But it was much better than to try to drown out the noise in a more natural way.
Once it died down however, the meeting finally continued—Only for Dolohov to come forward. And the sight of what he held in hand almost made the lads vomit.
"My Lord, Aria Crawford is hosting a fundraiser coming soon. She's invited the majority us to the event." Rabastan watched in horror as the Dark Lord's face had grown to male a smile.
"This is good news indeed, Dolohov...Do you think you can get the rest of the room invited?" Rabastan's face shot towards his brother and the eldest took lead.
"What is the course of action, my Lord?"
"Surveillance, eyes on the inside of her manor. A reminder that she hasn't answered my kind invitation to the last meeting." Rodolphous gulped and nodded, though his wife was not as cheery with the mission.
She turned rather solum for her persona that it almost bothered the Dark Lord for her lack of enthusiasm.
"I hear that the Lestrange's are rather close with Crawford." Dolohov produced, and that caused the three Lestrange's in the room to still. "Is this true? Bellatrix? Rodolphous? Rabastan? Is what Dolohov saying true?" And before Rabastan could speak Radolphous had answered for his brother.
"Of course, R.L's Attorney has been with Ms.Crawford since the beginning of her career. I'm not sure if father has allowed him to be that close to such high client such as her."
"I've only met with her a few times during working hours, the last was for a potion explosion just after the summer." The Dark Lord nodded along to the brothers, but Dolohov was not convinced.
"No, that can't be right, I just spoke with your father the other day. He called Ms.Crawford 'off the market' because his son was involved...And I don't mean your husband, sweet Bellatrix. I mean Rabastan." Avery's heart had almost stopped beating in the direction this conversation was going, and Merlin, he couldn't even imagine how his best mate was doing.
"I was entertaining the thought, but Ms.Crawford is a busy witch. Most of that is lost in Hogwarts. Besides...My father wouldn't approve of a half-blood in the family." His brother forced out a laugh.
"Merlin, I think father would lose his last straw with this one. A broken betrothed and bringing home a half-blooded instead? My brother doesn't have a death wish, my Lord." It was clear that the lie did not pass, but what did pass was the instant enemy that Dolohov had earned in the Lestrange, Avery, and McNair.
They all had watched as Rabastan withered and groaned on the floor under the curse of torture that had been practiced on the previous Auror's, which were now perfected by this time of night.
"Are you lying to me...Rabastan?"
"N-No my Lord, I am not with Crawford. It's—it's to flaunt our cl-client." He couldn't stop his stuttering, not when his mind was fried and the pain was mere seconds from causing him to blackout.
And Avery was thankful he had, otherwise the Dark Lord would continue.
The rest of the meeting, the given four were just waiting to hear the beautiful words of being 'dismissed' because Rabastan spent the rest of it on the Malfoy manor's floor, drooling and possibly bleeding—Avery couldn't tell where he stood.
Once it had been finished, however, Rolf took the first strides to kneel down beside his brother. Followed by Bella, and thankfully the Dark Lord had gone elsewhere in the manor—But that didn't help.
Not when Bella had gone straight towards Dolohov and sent the very same curse that damaged her brother. The only difference here is that Bella has a quick vendetta and quick to end it, yet no one dared to cross Lestrange when she yelled into the air.
Family was one of the most important things in this woman's life, and to see her husband trying to aid his younger brother to his feet—Well, it made her think of Narcissa in that position.
Defenseless and unable to fight back.
"Follow me to the Lestrange manor, we'll call—" Avery scoffed at Rodolphous' order and took the other side of Rabastan's limp arms.
"Nah, I've got another contact that'll help." He ushered out, and as the group of three conscious and two unconscious managed to find an area that they able to appearent away on, Avery had the go ahead.
They managed to step in sync right through the front door, all without knocking or being invited in. And as either Rolf or McNair had taken a look around, they frowned as the place looked more than unfamiliar.
"Ah, is this that German gal you've been seeing? I'd say she has...Interesting taste," Rolf said, setting his brother off on the couch while the others had a look around.
"Fuck, what's her elf's name...?" Avery huffed, completely forgetting to ask the previous time he was here. And yet the footsteps had caused everyone to hault, and there stood Wyatt in his nightwear—Having rubbed his eyes to remove the sleep, yet when he did manage to see them—He yelled.
"Shite! Mum! Mum!" The sudden eruption of barking and clatter had caused the men to flinch.
"Yeah...She's going to be pissed." McNair said, throwing off both his mask and cloak. And better yet, he started to do the same to Rabastan.
"This better be a bloody emergency or I swear to the goddess that—" Her eyes had stopped at seeing Rolf, and sure he would've made the flirtatious comment upon seeing Aria in her own nightware, just his prescience alone meant trouble.
"'Bas needs some healing, passed out a bit ago." She staggered backwards in seeing his condition. Rushing over and falling to her knees to be beside him, her wand worked its way to diagnose him.
"I need you lot to meet me in the farthest room down that hall, the door'll be open." Before anyone could question, Aria had popped out of the room and called out in the direction she mentioned.
Wyatt was left peeking behind the wall to see all the wizard's rushing to meet up with his mum, the lad shrugged and walked along into the kitchen to ready a pot of tea. Surely they'd want something to drink after all that yelling.
Upon entering in the said room, McNair laughed. "Expected us, did you?"
"Eventually yes, but not before the damn party so I could have it properly stocked god damnit." She cursed, and the group of wizard's watched in awe as Aria did what she did best.
Control this situation and mend what was wrong, thankfully she had dabbed in the art of anti curses' since the last time he had fallen into her fireplace and almost died on her living room floor.
"What the hell happened?!" She hissed, and it was clear that the explanation was clearly set in stone by the evidence. Never mind the fact that he pissed himself, his saliva was mixed with blood from biting his lip and the almost failure of his internal organs.
"What—"
"What do you bloody think well happened? He was punished." The way Rolf had said it so calmly caused Aria to shiver, and since there was a break in between the tonics she rose up against the bloke.
"Punished?! And where the hell were you?!"
"There isn't anything I can do when it's the Dark Lord's order, but if we want to pin the blame on anybody—What the hell were you doing inviting Dolohov to your party? Yeah? That's right, this is all your fault love, spent all the time wondering what he and the rest of are doing? Is protecting your sorry excuse of an arse—"
"Rodolphous..." Avery had chimed in but the elder wizard threw his hand up in the air.
"The Dark Lord wants you, and all of us are trying to keep your name out of the inner circle. But of course the bloke has to grow interested, doesn't he? Because you can't keep your nose out've—"
"Oi, that's enough. Aria wasn't there and this isn't her bloody fault. We promised to protect her long before we took the dark mark." Avery intercepted it this time fully, and blocked the argument from continuing.
"And if she'd just marry him and stop being stubborn this wouldn't have happened. We wouldn't have had to lie that we know her, that we know she's a Black daughter!" Aria stumbled backwards, just in time for McNair to catch her.
"Easy love, easy—You inconsiderate arse, Rabastan never involved her with the details. Don't taint her with part of the story." He dwelled, and Avery soon followed in suit.
"Then how about either of elaborate what's missing, Dolohov wants to fuck you and we're all caught in this bloody mess!" The stress of the situation had finally caught up to Aria as she shook in McNair's hold.
"Go get your damn father then, at least he has the decency to explain it in simple terms." Aria's hiccup and the sound of her soft sniffle instantly threw Rodolphous guilty, it was so odd to see a woman cry in their world. But the witch wasn't looking at him nor the others, she was locked eyes with Rabastan's unconscious body.
"Alright, I got some tea for every—" Wyatt said with a bright smile on his face, only until he caught sight of his mum sobbing in McNair's stable hold.
"Oi! Get the hell out've my house!" The little Badger said throwing up his wand after placing the platter down onto the counter. "Wy—"
"Best put that down lad, might hurt yourself if you point it at anyone." It was in that moment, that a loud had erupted just seconds after Rodolphous had been knocked back into the wall.
His body slumped down with a groan as he let out a string of swears. "I take it all back, the lad's got a kick in his step."
"I'm not asking again, Rolf." He deemed, and the eldest Lestrange did just that—He left.
But not without the others trying to rectify and explain in a much calmer voice of what happened. When all was said and done, Wyatt had brought them to the guest rooms while Aria remained with Rabastan in the infirmary.
He had once thought it was a useless addition to add to the layout, but now he knew it wasn't for them—It was for others. It was for the snakes and lions.
Wyatt swore that sometimes his mum resembled a Hufflepuff with the way she was loyal until the very end. And her loyalty stood true as he caught her sleeping on the floor beside the bed, with no use in moving her, he wrapped a thick blanket around her figure and placed a pillow for her head to lean back on.
The following hours already introduced the morning, and the firm hand on Aria's shoulder caused her to shift and shake it off. "Aira...Aria, darling? Please, get to sleep in a proper bed." The voice didn't register as she peeked open one eye and rubbed her fist into it. Yet the clean cut of Radolphous Lestrange was not what she expected.
"Mister—Mister Lestrange?" The faint chuckle barely managed to be heard as her yawn settled in. "Please tell me you didn't sleep here all night?"
"No, I think they came around one in the morning...I must've fallen asleep at 3? He was convulsive and I had to make some guesses." The elder had sat down into the chair and sighed.
"Thank you, I know your image of me is probably tainted beyond belief at this point but—"
"No. I think your eldest son is on the shite list now, no offense."
"I'll have a word with him, what did he do?"
"Nothing. He told me the truth." That had certainly confused him and she smiled up sadly up to him.
"That you all work behind the shadows more than I ever knew, Avery and McNair swore to protect me and hear out from the meetings because I offered them healing. You and your son and daughter defended me, but Dolohov was...Well...I don't know what really happened other than he outed Rabastan."
"Yes, and Radolphous is rectifying that situation as we speak. On top of what Bellatrix did." Aria hummed, but the urge to fall asleep continued to plague her mind.
"Owl me when this one wakes up, and you better look much more awake. There might be a few things we need to discuss with your father." She pouted but nodded along.
"I'll bring him to my room then—Oh goddess I know exactly where he gets his smirk from now, knock it off."
"What can I say? I'm a dreaming wizard, hoping for a sudden change of heart." Taking hold of Rabastan's better half, she allowed her own lips to turn up in a grin.
"Well then you've gotten a slight change of heart." Her final words could've knocked him off his feet had he been standing. However he wasn't able to question her, not when she popped out of the room with his son in the midst of the apparition.
Deciding it was best to go home and explain the situation calmly to his wife, he drafted a parcel in the hopes that when they did wake up—That they'd owl him close to immediately.
This was no longer just a matter that could be controlled by the Lestrange, Orion would have to get involved—Better yet, perhaps Cassiopeia would finally make her grand reappearance.
