The month's shifts shifted into years, and either the Gryffindors and Aria had been slightly separated due to their acquainted groups and studies.
Though Potter always seemingly had a comment on her technique on the Quidditch pitch. But Sirius rightly forgot about the witch he saved within the first few minutes at Hogwarts and escorted to Herbology that faithful day, sure they saw one another in the classroom or across the ways in the halls. But neither had sought each other out for a conversation, the only connection they held was the adoring infatuation that Remus John Lupin had with the witch.
He came to the conclusion that if he didn't attempt it this year, then what the hell was he going to wait for?
Course the smile she'd give always made his knees buckle, and the audience of his mates was seemingly worse than when in private with her. It caused for teasing later, all of having to do with the height difference, due to the fact Remus has grown another foot over the summer.
Aria didn't mind his height, or his affiliation with books. It made him perfect for grabbing any sort of reading material that was too high on the shelf for her to reach on her own.
One of the many things he learned from spending time with the witch was that she rather do things the normal way than rely on magic. He was one of the few that she opened up to on being an orphan.
Remus hadn't expected that, but she was staying with a family every holiday in the winter and summer when she wasn't in Hogwarts.
So she wasn't alone. Nor did she have to stay at The Fountain of Angels with muggles.
The only issue that stood in his way was the one and only Rabastan Lestrange. Sirius joked that the wizard simply wanted to be reckless and shag a half-blood, what else what cause him to continue a mindless hatred from the first day of school?
Remus had come fairly late the platform and had to hurry along to find his mates, being seated down just a few moments before the train was set to move.
Digging into his jumper's pocket did he sigh in relief that he remembered his prefect badge. The last thing he'd need is to look irresponsible against the rest of the prefect body.
Not that the task would ever be up in the air considering who else it could've been.
"Good sakes mate, give it a rest. We're not even at Hogwarts yet." Sirius scoffed, especially after he caught the badge from the corner of his eyes.
Remus looked to his friend in silence, usually Sirius' attitude would reflect what happened over the summer. His arms crossed over his chest told more than it should've.
So Lupin shrugged and let it fall back into his pocket.
"Almost forgot it." It was James' turn to laugh this time, nudging his mate from their last shared conversation this summer. Causing Remus to blush entirely red from cheeks to his ears.
"Roswell wants to do patrols with you this year? Nows your chance Moony." Remus grinned ear to ear, that was indeed the plan. And it made James all the more excited as Aria was friends with the one and only: Lily Evans.
The given lot had ditched the idea of pranks and planned their goals this year. Remus' first goal was to pass his potions OWL with an Acceptable, granted he was hoping that Aria would tutor him again this year.
Another plan in the works.
A knock jolted the entire lot of them, but it caused Aria to roll her eyes. They were surely up to no good.
"Hello gents, good holiday?" She asked, her smile shining around the rest. And although Sirius tried his best, he wasn't prepared for the gal to take a seat beside him.
"I asked Olivia and Derrick if it's alright we patrol together, thanks Remmy. You're a lifesaver." She reminded him about meeting in the prefect cart in a few minutes, and the poor werewolf was a mumbling mess after being the soul reason for her smile.
Sirius rolled his eyes again, he thought Aria was beautiful sure...But it felt uncomfortable to say it, almost like he had to choke out a comment about his cousins or something.
Instead he leaned back and relished the idea of being able to play against his brother in Quidditch, it was really the only thing they had in common. Granted even then their positions were different.
Regulus was trying out for Seeker.
Soon enough the marauders had lost 1/4 of their numbers, but it lessened the talk of gals and more into the world of pranks. And for right now Sirius could get behind that, his damned mother had been awful all summer. Relentless about who he was set to marry this and that, and he wasn't the only one sporting soar faces.
Rabastan had the same speech, he caught a similar look and cocked a brow.
Out of everyone, he should be thrilled that his Death Eater persona would be granted a gal.
He felt empathic on who it would be.
Aria was just helping a few first years when she ran into Harper, although their friendship started on a very rocky road. Amelia and Isabella had come to her with semiopen arms. Guilt-ridden for how they had acted their first year reflected greatly now. They were over-enthusiastic, but it was better than the ignoring stages, besides...
They shared meals, classes, and a room together.
It was hard to live with an ignoring roommate.
"How's Aiden?" Harper questioned, and a faint blush rallied on her cheeks as she shook her head. "Really well, I just wish the summer was a bit longer."
"So you could ride some more hippogriffs?" Her terminology was fowl, but it made her roommates shutter as she was being swatted by their prefect.
"I regret telling you already!"
"Please! I live for an American love story! It was better than the dinners and events mother and father brought me on." The two continued to chat, only until Aria had been brutally pushed forward.
"Watch it Roswell." A voice growled, and in the chance of rolling her eyes did it earn her another cursed taunt.
"Suppose you had a brilliant summer too Lestrange." No matter how much the girl tried to be friendly, or at least civil. It ended with him being a downright bastard.
Especially on the pitch.
"Mind your tongue."
"Not very friendly, very well." It was a taunting kiss before the two gals had walked on away. Aria was going to walk her friend to the decided cart before returning to the prefect meeting.
"Ari! Thank you for the birthday gifts!" Clem shouted, tackling the girl with a hug. But Izzy threw her head back. "Can we talk about the birthday gift Aiden—"
"Gotta run! See you at dinner!" Aria had quickly avoided the conversation further, and luckily Remus hadn't heard what Isabella had said, instead the two walked down to the cart and found their seats with Lily and a few other Gryffindor and Ravenclaw prefects in the older years.
"How was the Hippogriff farm Aria?" The girl smiled, sharing the small adventured she had gone with the Halliwell family. Both Lily and Remus knew that she spent her summer with friends rather than family, considering she was still in the system here in Britain.
But Lily offered her home if she ever was left with that damned Fountain of Angels.
If anyone knew what it felt like to be a freak in a muggle environment, it'd be Lily. Especially with a sister like Petunia. The only factor that the rest of the student body didn't know was that Aria had no knowledge of her blood status, a pure or half-blood.
But even now she was starting to get the idea that she was indeed pure.
And that she made her skin crawl.
She was booted out of the snob filled people like Lestrange and Carrow. It was fortunate in one regard.
The idea of having to go to parties and events all for the sake of being royalty?
It sounded as exhausting as Harper told her.
The feast was brilliant as always, but Aria found herself more than tired as she followed her roommates to the Ravenclaw tower and settled in rather quickly.
Aria was running around like mad witch trying to aid all students, whatever their house is. Even smiling down to the young Slytherin as she did indeed have a friend in the house.
Regulus.
Granted she assumed that Regulus would suddenly turn cold like he usually did after holidays, that and his opinions were completely managed by the likes of Mr.Lestrange.
But Regulus needed her if he wanted to pass potions, and she couldn't help herself if she didn't offer herself to someone who needed help learning her favorite subject.
Mr.Crawford and his wife already were lining up opportunities in America for her to take this coming year. Especially if she has OWLS under her belt.
The first week had passed without much of a second thought, Aria had simply been reading her morning mail and rolling her eyes down to the parchment in her hand.
"Is that from Aiden?" Harper teased, and Izzy nicked the letter quickly from her hands. "The dreamy Aiden?"
"The talented Aiden?" She had more than enough as she summoned her letter back in her grasp and stuffed it away.
"You lot make it sound like a novel." Harper's brow bounced and nodded in confirmation.
"The way you wrote it Aria, he took you on Hippogriff ride and showed you a hidden part of the property? I can't believe you held back...I would've just—" Izzy had been the closest to Harper and was able to slap some sense into her, especially since some the curious Slytherins and Gryffindors were starting to listen in.
"My life is not a novel."
"We'll see how it ends then, what's he saying?" Aria shared that he was simply excited to return back to Ilvernmorny, reaching down for her own satchel was she attempting to write a reply before class would start.
Otherwise she'd forget.
On the side of the Gryffindor table however, Remus was lost in his own stricken gaze to Aria. For Sirius this was a normal part of his day, especially when it was James who would be star struck that his Lilyflower put her hair in a new style.
"Oi! Mate!... Good Godric could you bloody focus? You have rounds tonight with your little gal friend and are unprepared! Unless you want to be drooling on her the entire night." Remus had finally given his best mate a moment of his time as he watched Sirius scoff again.
"I don't drool." He reinstated, and it caused James to rub the corner of Moony's lips and there was indeed a bit of drool. "Come on lover boy, what's the plan for tonight?" Sirius attempted once and Remus simply shrugged into his bowl of cereal.
"That's not gonna fly, ask her about her summer, America...Bloody Quidditch I don't know. Merlin, didn't you guys owl each other this holiday?" Remus might have over-exaggerated the given four owls, though it was difficult considering how far they were away from each other.
That and she had her internship at Salem for the camps there, suppose that's what happens when she's staying with families that is so interconnected to it.
He already had a bit of worry that she'd leave Britain after Hogwarts, but that was his own telling anxiety, how was he supposed to have those long term plans when he couldn't even manage a full-length conversation with her?
Before long the boys had been in the zone of plotting, completely missing the fact that Aria had switched to the Gryffindor table to mingle with Lily and Marlene.
"Oi, Wells! How's your turntable looking?" James shouted getting the girl's attention. The Ravenclaw politely finished her conversation with the lioness and sat beside Sirius to get a peek.
"We'll have most classes together because of the OWLS. Fancy yourself muggle studies?" Sirius chuckled and rolled his eyes.
"Anything to upset mother and father, that and I want to learn about those...Damnit, Moony what were they called?" Sirius turned off to his best mate, and Remus had finally taken the glance at Aria and rolled his eyes.
"A motorbike. It a mistake to share it with him."
"Oh they're brilliant! My friend, he charmed the actual bike to have it fly...I'll have to ask him what he did exactly, i-if you want?" Sirius eyed the Ravenclaw with suspicion, but it was well known that the girl acted much like a Hufflepuff and didn't discriminate.
So he erupted in a smile.
"Thanks Wells, perhaps we won't be too much of an arse at the pitch."
"What's the fun in that? See you all in charms!" She cheered, a smile still bracing her tentative to enjoy the rest of her day.
She even dodged an attack from Lestrange, his bitterness hadn't been strong enough to destroy the mood.
It elated the likes of Remus Lupin as he was in sure need of a positive gal like Aria Roswell.

I know I skipped the prime years at Hogwarts, but it's just easier to have them at least almost legal. That and I didn't want to focus too much time of them being in school, so be prepared for the fifth year and maybe sixth to be the most detailed.
