After the unfortunate accident with the Dark Lord and his serving punishments. Rabastan was a bit weary when coming home sore or bloody, sometimes he'd blame it on the order. But seeing Aurora's face fall at the mere mention of her brother and the organization he is apart of made it worse for wear.
Both ended with her mood for the day to shift.
So when the time came for him to be called in the odd hours of the evening, he'd lie...
Probably not the best way to start out a new marriage but that is exactly what he had done.
Whether he said he was going out to his brother's or the Malfoy's...He just assumed she didn't know, but when reading the paper the next morning she'd look up to him for a moment and nod.
So she did know that he had been called, or the rallies were at times of the day where she was out and about with her so-called appointments.
One thing she learned early enough was that Rabastan adored when her nails were long, whether it was because he was addicted to how they felt in his hands or how a nail felt on his chin. Whatever the case may be, it gave her something to do besides design the house.
But it also gave her an excuse to go out of the house as well as to get to certain meetings, even if it was just for five minutes. It was a deal that Aurora would check up on Remus, especially with everything going on, he needed a support system whenever the moon was close.
Aurora however, was just preparing her satchel to bring with her to her first session of the three-day course. Otto said it was just an extra seminar but she wanted to attend it never the less.
Rabastan had been as ecstatic as she was, especially when his damnable Ravenclaw had used her Witt and tricked the Britain Wizarding system and took the test in gaining her lab license in Germany and it transferred well enough to their ministry.
Merlin did his wife look excited, so much so that she woke up two hours before she had to go. "Circe have me Rory, you're going to do great love. And when you come back this afternoon I want to hear all about it." He kissed her cheek and she beamed up towards him again, as though all the stress had simmered away.
The moment she had left the manor both were feeling the lack of either of each other's presence. But it was exciting to see Otto in the setting of potions again.
She arrived at his office just like he mentioned and a pure smile formed on his face when his head popped up from his book.
"Good-morning Aurora, come I want to introduce you to..." The man continued to ramble and after five new introductions did she arrive partially late to what she had wanted.
Most of the men, actually all of the men had followed to greet Mr.Handson to be polite.
It confused her for a moment but they all wanted to get a stand-in like she had...
This world was competitive and dark...That she had been warned from by the counted five women in this field.
"Hey darling, mind getting us a few coffees, running a bit late this morning." She turned her gaze for a moment and perked her lips.
"Mate she's Otto's, fit isn't she." These comments weren't a new addition to her life. Hogwarts was filled with jealousy, but in a room filled with males, of course she was going to be singled out.
"Who's that? she's—"
"She is not deaf and she is not an assistant. So shove it." She growled, and the mates almost jumped back in reaction.
A cutting smile already intrigued the majority of the room, as well as throwing out the idea that she is going to demand respect from her classmates.
Already had she heard comments about her arse, tits and everything in between.
She found her seat behind a fairly silent wizard who peeked up but then returned his gaze down. And instantly he became her favorite classmate as he hadn't been the one to make a comment.
As she took innovatory to the supplies and utensils before her she smiled. She did well in bringing her own, and after taking them out the man beside her chuckled.
"Thought they would be better stocked aye? Brought my own too." She smiled and chuckled again, but after he stopped the final swipe of his quill he pulled his hand over.
"Zane Winchester ma'am, sorry about the arses...Would say they were any different but a witch came in prior and it was the same." She rolled her eyes in counter to hear the truth of the situation.
She was in a room filled with nerdy dogs.
"Cassiopeia Lestrange, but please call me Aurora..."
"Aurora it is, how do you know Mr.Handson?" He questioned, and she explained how she's already interned for the past few years as well as planning to take the classes in the fall.
"Same here...Bit young aren't you?"
"Graduated this year from Hogwarts actually." His eyes widened in damnation, the girl must've been smart as he found his desired man.
"That bloke off in the front is twenty-four, thought he was the youngest." She shook her head, being the youngest wasn't new either.
But the closest age being six years her senior was another competition.
"Where did you study then?"
"Home school mostly, mum and dad traveled the world and I'd get schooling here and there...Hogwarts a bit, Ilvermorny...The load." Merlin Zane was traveled and informed on other cultures, it was her dream.
"I almost asked my parents if I could go to Ilvermorny, the states were beautiful when I went." He agreed, but unfortunately Aurora had only seen Massachusetts than anything else.
"California was brilliant, muggle side's a little strange but otherwise it's an experience...Where in Mass did you stay?" She opened her mouth for a moment and she was partly worried she would lose interest in being friends with her.
"Salem. I...I went to the academy there." If he had been. Surprised before, he sure as hell felt it now.
"My sister attended as well, but she's a later graduate...sure this is going to be nothing for you then." She shrugged and gestured to those fooling around.
"How did they manage to get in, there's limited seats here aren't there?"
"The wait list started around Christmas, dunno I'm afraid. One on the right is Damocles, left is Liam." Was it a mistake that she had taken off her wedding ring so it wouldn't get ruined by the fumes like her other rings. Yes. Yes it was.
After talking with Zane for a few more moments did the professor for this session come in and introduce themselves. He was quick in testing the abilities of everyone in the room, so much so that it threw one student in a panic and had it not been for the professor the room would've exploded.
"Simple mistakes can turn fatal, let that be a reminder when you look in the mirror son." Apparently, the poor lad had lost his brows, sure as hell sounds like payback for the sexist comments.
Though she wished it happened to Damocles instead, an assistant? Please.
The task was to use what was before them to create what they knew, and as the professor peaked over Aurora's shoulder he chuckled. "Ms.Black I presume?"
"Mrs.Lestrange now, but yes...It's nice to officially meet you sir." She spoke, shaking his hand. But he was still reading over her notes as she worked amicably beside him.
He left without another word, but she did indeed pick up that he duplicated her written page. "What'd he say?" She shrugged and shook her head, he hadn't really said anything in terms of positive response to her work, not that Slughorn had really ever noticed her enough to aid her in getting here...That she was used to.
As she was measuring her stirs she found comfort in touching the necklace Rabastan had gifted her before she went off to Salem for the first time.
It always her to find calmness these past nine years.
Whyever Damocles found himself by Aurora was going to make her gag anyhow, she glanced to her side and spoke politely. "Can I help you?"
"Just want to check that there's no hard feelings right hun? Damocles." Aurora tapped her stirring rob at the rim of her cauldron and turned to look at him directly rather than just in the corner of her eye.
This lad did not scare or intimidate her in any regard.
She's hosted death eaters and talked one on one with the Dark Lord.
He was nothing.
"I suggest you head back to your seat Mr.Damocles, your flame is a little too high for this type of root-based potion." He wanted to make a smooth comment, that was obvious by his cocky smirk, but looking over to his workspace, he realized she was right.
This didn't escape much of anyone's notice, even the senior potion master had hid his grin from the rest of the room.
She was indeed going to be a spitfire.
"That was brilliant Aurora, you think he burned it?" She nodded, tapping her nose and he groaned. "Do Salem girls all have that damn nose, swear my sister has it too."
"Your sister's in this field as well?"
"Hm, an apothecary in Sweden. Makes it easier with the kids and everything." Aurora smiled softly at the idea, but hearing that a witch was still fulfilling her dreams even with children made it all heartfelt.
"Not there yet."
"Yeah, but I see that shade on your left hand, and name change?" She rose her hands in a white flag motion.
"Careful, looks like someone is already territorial over me." He snickered back down at the sight of Damocles.
"Most of us had a class together before, gets easier to ignore."
"Yes but they're not commenting on how fit you are, are they?" He breathed out and had to agree in that notion.
But Zane would be damned if the girl loses the opportunity over this botched asshole.
Their potions were examined, but there was no comment of results again either. Instead he continued off with a lecture on the base element that we used today, but the second he held up her paper she flinched.
"Fuck." She whispered, trying to hide behind her cauldron.
"I am absolutely embarrassed by this group...That a newcomer marches in here and does better than all my bloody students." He flashed her paper around and flicked his wand to the board of what she had written.
"Every single combination and then some, and yet you all produce the same potion?! Then three of you decide to burn it?!" Now Rory wasn't the only one with reddening cheeks.
"Closest he gives in comments, you did perfectly." Zane's kind words didn't do much for when most of the class pinned a target to her back.
For once she had been a reason in swearing under her breath in class.
As the class was dismissed she found that not everyone cleaned their materials, actually less than half stayed behind. Since the professor had been angry she didn't blame for most bolting at first light, but the other reason was that these remaining had their own supplies to clean as well.
"Ms? What potion did you end up brewing?" The polite fellow seemingly began the end of class discussion, one of which that the professor had listened intently on but didn't engage at all.
Instead he followed along and almost judged each and every comment that was made.
When all was finished did he called her to stay behind, Zane offered to wait for her in the hallway and she appreciated his kindness and told him he didn't have to.
Which meant he was going to wait anyway.
"Ms.Blac—Mrs. Lestrange, how did you find the class?" That didn't sound like a normal question to her and so she responded with: "Sir?" He leaned back into his desk's chair and shook his head.
"Twenty minutes, in twenty minutes did you set back weeks of work with these fuck—sorry darling...I usually am good with my language." She smiled along, it was indeed humorous.
"I studied until Mr.Handson sir, this—"
"This class is a waste of your time, unfortunately, you have to sit with this bunch until graduation." She figured as much but looked back to the board, her writing was still taking up the blank space.
"Brewed beautifully, who was your potions professor in Hogwarts?"
"Slughorn sir." The man scoffed, almost a forgiving glance back at the young girl.
They wouldn't be getting too many of hers with the way Slughorn was teaching.
"And house?"
"Ravenclaw." He nodded in respect, he hadn't graduated at Hogwarts either but it was a honorable house anyhow.
"Any problems with your classmates you come directly to me."
"Hopefully after the first time, Damocles realizes I'm not the witch to mess with." He had a daughter of his own, and sure enough this was the correct attitude to have in this field.
Competitive and defensive.
"Otto found a gem...Have a good rest of your day Mrs.Lestrange, see you tomorrow." She followed with the same general reply before continuing into the hallway.
"H-he gave you a compliment..." Zane started, she wasn't surprised that he was listening but this was a clear sing of it.
"I think Otto has hyped me far too much, I still need to prove myself...I promised to meet up with—" Mr.Handson had just been on his way to meet with his friend, but seeing Aurora coming this way already put a smile on his face.
"And...How was class?" She said a very polite and engaging response but Zane failed miserably on hiding his smirk.
"Mr...Mr.Winchester am I correct?"
"Yes sir, I had the pleasure of sitting next to this one during class." The three started talking, and the rather protective side came when hearing that they thought she was his assistant.
"I'll handle it."
"Sure you will, now you promised to come and visit Rose..." She rolled her eyes, but of her professor caught up.
"Rose never asked for me to come over, Merlin have that woman!" Zane stood in awe at the flow of the conversation. How could she possibly talk to these high ranked professors like she was their best friend?!
"I think I'm going to have a heart attack." She turned to look up at the taller fellow, he was sporting glasses but not the same as James nor Dumbledore. He had freckles behind those thick frames, all of which had been topped with brown hair plopped on the top.
Rory couldn't even judge his hair at the moment when she came in with her long locks braided from the start knowing the steam would make her look unprofessional.
"How come?"
"That's our professor, he's—"
"He's still a wizard, is he not? Sometimes those in higher positions favor those who talk normally. That's what my father says anyway." He chuckled, if this is what a freshly graduated gal acted...He couldn't even imagine how her father was like.
Or her husband for that matter.
The two continued to discuss before making their way out of the building. Only to see Damocles and Liam resting against the side of the building. "There's the girl of the hour...You proud of yourself witch?"
"Oh of course, it's not every day I can upstage a classroom filled with blokes such as yourself...Especially when you overlooked me and thought I was an assistant." He gritted his teeth, but held it back as there was a bet he wagered in already.
"Let me apologies love...Can I get you a coffee, make amends?" She didn't need legitimacy to know he was a two-faced arsehole, so here he is with a different motive than being kind.
"I think I'll pass." She stated, about to walk away. But Damocles had been upstaged by very little, and in front of his mates, a witch couldn't ruin his ego like that. So he gripped her wrist and instantly a wand had been placed at his throat.
"I suppose you have never been in the presence of a lady so I'll give you few setting rules...Love. Don't grab what isn't yours." She spoke, ripping out the hand that was in his grab, and while he was in the midst of making some bullshited excuse on her not having a ring on her finger.
She smiled with direct eye contact still maintained.
Reaching down to her belt did she grab the massive Dimond that Rabastan had presented her with and returned it to her finger. "Best brush up...Look like our professor wasn't that proud of your work. Have a good day Mr.Damocles." She winked before walking off, Zane instantly by her side again with a hand over his mouth.
"Mrs.Lestrange you're bloody terrifying."
"And he's an idiot, honestly...He left his station to go and bother me. Now he's butthurt because his little ego's damaged...Are you married Zane?" He nodded and shared a small photo of his family, one of which she smiled down to. "How old?"
"Five and two...My wife's a zoologist, she's taking time off to take care of the children at the moment. But after graduation I'm going to be taking time off and get reorganized." She liked hearing these life plans, that he had his life in order.
"Honestly I'm here because I don't want to be a stay at home wife." He scoffed. "Sure your husband is supportive?"
"Oh he is, but it was difficult, not many people work in my family." It clicked for him, she was one of those wealthy families.
He wasn't discouraged, honestly it was odd to hear that she furthering her education and wanting a job. Especially sitting on a vault of gold like any of those families had?
"I want to go into medicine, my uncle died of Dragon pox and I guess it hit me that the wizarding world needs cures such as that."
"That's an admirable thing Aurora, so don't let those bastards get in the way of that." She nodded and bid him a good rest of the day.
It was just about lunchtime when she arrived back home by the front door, and the first elf that seen her rushed to tell her master that the mistress has returned.
He finished his last thought before venturing down to meet up with his wife, but seeing her on the couch and staring up at the ceiling was indeed an odd sight.
"Rory? And how was it?" She scoffed and looked up to her husband.
"The class was good." Now it was his turn to return the scoff.
"Good? Out of all the words you chose good? Something tells me it wasn't that good." Her hands hid her face, only adding to Rabastan's curiosity as he kneed down beside her.
"Come love, was it that bad?"
"I got mistaken for an assistant two seconds into the classroom...Men are bastards." She hissed, he supposed those potion nerds were drooling at his wife the entire time.
That had made him angry.
"Hopefully that didn't ruin the whole class? One bloke?" She shook her head.
"Honestly they were animals, next time I'm sitting in the back of the damn class." He too wasn't admissive to the comments on his girlfriend turned wife.
But she was his to ravish and to come home to.
"And the actual class?"
"Upstaged them all, which I thought angered the professor, but he had a feeling I was getting bored halfway through anyhow." He rolled his eyes, but then turned a bit to the hall.
"Daisy...Is lunch ready?"
"Five minutes sir, outside?" He nodded in response, but his little Ravenclaw looked exhausted to even get up.
"Come on love, unless you want me to track him down and give him a taste of his own medicine then—"
"No...No. Otto and my professor already said they'd handle it, granted I did flaunt my ring to Damocles." She taunted his name out into the open, but it gave Rabastan the perfect opportunity to get some further information about this stalker.
"He burned his potion because he came and talked me, I mean how bloody dumb could you be?"
"Oi, I happen to have made that mistake before!" Rory simply caressed his cheek, Merlin was he such a child when he pouted.
"Yes, but I'm your wife now. He's just an arsehole." His wife was angry, and as his civic duty as her husband he found it in his best interest and he's to treat her as best he could. Lunch had been an affair of talking about anything but potions, and then after a good while he offered a bath.
Purely in hopes of calming her anxiety.
Which...Lead to an activity that did indeed put her in utter bliss.
*
The second day of her class hadn't been eventful, the two dumbarses kept to themselves. Zane wasn't surprised to see Aurora taking the back seat of the classroom now after everything, he truly hoped that these blokes wouldn't discourage her from continuing her education.
From sitting in the back she had gained another friend, Bennet. They made the class worth the strain, and at the end of the day they would clean up their brought from home materials before departing.
After her third and final day she had some news for Rabastan, apparently her professor was having a convention hosted in the winter so he's starting the class earlier than anticipated. By a week, it wasn't that major, she just hoped it didn't damage any of the Dark Lord's plans.
"Ah, there's my beautiful wife...How was the final session?" She held up her first certificate and he smiled just as wide.
"Brilliant love, utterly brilliant. Knocked 'em dead did you?" Putting her satchel down onto the ground beside her was he entirely open to a quick cuddle when listening to her last day.
"Raba I smell like a cauldron, let me take a shower before—"
"I might as well get used to it..." He held up one of the surprises, the envelope from the ministry with her name on it.
He stayed silent as she ripped open the paper to get to the contents inside. Though he had to take a moment to see it being addressed to Cassiopeia Lestrange.
"I...It worked...It actually fucking worked!" He rolled his eyes at her swear, he didn't rightly mind curses. But she was far too excited that her arms wrapped around his shoulders, rocking the sofa a bit in her wake.
"You tricked the Ministry, very Slytherin of you."
"Tricking the ministry yes, but the idea was all Ravenclaw." As well as the idea from that lovely shopkeeper, she would indeed go there for stocking her stores for sure.
Curtsy of course.
"Go take a shower love, I have a surprise." Her fear settled in, she didn't like the idea of surprises. Merlin this whole summer was a surprise, so she eyed him cautiously.
"Raba—"
"Nope. My little potions mistress is going to march up those steps. Take a shower, and we're going to enjoy lunch." She gawked at his order, but never the less followed through and made her way upstairs.
He hadn't even joined her or snuck his way in like he usually has in the previous days.
"What is he up to?" She pondered, drying her hair the best she could as well as dressing comfortably did she managed to see him awaiting at the bottom of the stairs. "Please tell me nobody is here."
"Nobody is here...Just you and myself."
Meow!
"Of course you too, merlin Omen how inconsiderate of me." Aurora's giggle to her husband's conversation with the cat always managed to get her to crack a grin.
The cat surely understood English.
Rabastan had offered a cloth to wrap around her eyes and she instantly retreated. "It's part of the surprise."
"Rabastan I swear if—" He huffed impatiently, it was one thing for her to turn limp at him proposing but now? Now she was being difficult.
"Why can't you just accept gifts like a normal gal?"
"Because I'm not normal in the slightest, and I have enough as is." He knew from a young age that Aurora was stingy in terms of materialist goods. Sure jewelry was one, but other than books and the occasional blanket. Rory didn't need much.
"I promise you'll love it." She closed her eyes and he wrapped the cloth around them just for that second level of coverage before wrapping his arms around her.
The quick apparation didn't flop her stomach like it usually had, but a quick listen to the birds and the breeze...She could tell she's outside.
He aided her into sitting down, and just as he finished his own placement did he lock his chin into his hand resting to the table as he allowed her to take off the napkin.
Her eyes widened to see what laid before her. It was the gazebo.
"You...You had it made...how?"
"Simple really, it took all of this mornings classes to get it done...I think you did fantastic in the drawings." He said, looking around to it as she inhaled the sight before her.
It was bigger than she first wanted, but eating outside was always something she adored so a bigger table for family could be placed it one was to take out the couches that were placed by the fire.
Leaning in did she plant a kiss to his all too awaiting lips. Yes. He was a sucker for doing a good deed for his wife, she'd get so bubbly and happy that it was hard not to. That and she wouldn't fail to give a nice and loving thank you tonight either.
Although he did hear that her actual class would be within the next given days, it was a mixture of sadness and enthusiasm. He wanted his wife to succeed, but in these three days, he barely saw her at all.
His wife being a quick study to his expressions divulged that her classes would only meet three times a week as they were all piled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
So the weekend, as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays, would be free.
It was far too late to take his words back, nor did he want to. He was fortunate in having Aurora as a wife at all. Not to mention the given promise he had to Orion.
Today however was the first of many lessons that Rabastan would have the face with now having a wife. Her first week had already flown past but now he felt neglected in terms of what's happening in the bedroom.
Aurora had stayed up late the previous night to study for her first exam that Friday, but now she was just resting in the gazebo and reading along the syllabus to get ahead.
He had a bit of wine his pursuit of his plan of seduction, she was currently bitting her nail while regaining all the knowledge of that book in her hand.
"Thought I'd find you out here." He cooed, and she head turned back and graced him with a smile.
"New favorite spot, it's too warm to stay inside." He hummed in agreement and offered up the bottle of wine. Causing Aurora to abandon her book and tuck legs even further under her.
"My first break we should throw a party—"
"Merlin Rory a party?" She rolled her eyes and gestured around.
"The garden is getting healthier, though I'm still waiting for the shipment your mother ordered for me. But the rest of the house is all set." He had to admit, his wife took the liberty to incorporate himself into the design as well, another one of the things he wanted next was a portrait done with Rory.
One thing escalated into another and the two began snogging as though they were back in Hogwarts in the clocktower. However when the movement of progressing things came along, Rory hesitated.
She caught her breath and stilled, an action that even her tipsy husband could see.
"Rory? Everything alright love?" She offered a smile and guilty eye reigned up.
"Raba this isn't a good time to—"
"We can move to our bed Rory, I didn't mean to make you feel comfortable if..." He began rambling but she giggled.
"Perhaps another time outside?"
Had she tired of him already?
Was she bored with sex?
Their marriage was still in their blissful honeymoon stage, this wasn't meant to happen just yet.
A loud sigh escaped her as she scratched his chin. "Do you remember that Transfiguration class...Where I was feeling shitty?" Looking back did he try and recall what she was referring to, but he was taking far too long and so she said it out loud.
Causing him to flinch.
"Y-you're—"
"It's going to happen every month as it has before Raba, just because we're married it doesn't stop." He was still widely confused as to what was happening in her at the moment, but he felt oddly uncomfortable at the moment in the position he was in.
"Everything month." He repeated, and she nodded. "It's only for four or five days, other gals have it for longer or shorter..." He cleared his throat, an obvious sign that he was not having any favor in this little aspect.
"I uh...I'll just—"
"Should I expect this when I give birth to a child?" She could see from where she sat that he hunched his back in another flinch. Men. Honestly, they were growing less and less in favor. Blood in any other form was fine, but the second it came from a female goddess forbid.
Rabastan felt a damn arsehole having walked away like that, but when he tried to come outside and apologies Aurora had moved.
"Daisy, where's Aurora?"
"Mistress ask for tea in the library, mistress no feel well Master." He was a bastard, he left her high and dry, now she was facing the pains.
He rarely came down this wing as it was filled with guest rooms as well as the entertainment rooms. His mother always called it a mini ballroom, granted it's seen better days, but Rory liked the tall ceilings for the piano.
For a moment it felt like he was back four years ago when Rory stayed over for a few days in the summer. But now they were married, and now he had to apologize for his insensitivity.
The master of the house was just around the corner, but the blood-curdling screaming had him turn defensive...Had the Order come to the house?!
He didn't doubt that a last-ditch effort on Sirius part would be to kidnap her, but as he burst into the library and scanned the room all he could find was Bella in one of the isles.
"I KILLED SIRIUS BLACK! I KILLED SIRIUS BLACK!" Aurora's cries were desperate and strained, and when he saw her down on the ground he realized what this was.
It was a boggart.
"Ridiculous!" She shot the spell, and it mortified into an easier version of herself. The opposite of Bella had been a childlike Aurora in pure white.
"Raba no don't—" She warned him, but the boggart caught wind of him and his fear. So the creature took another form of Rory.
Only this one was sporting Death Eater robes and struggling to get distance from Rabastan.
"G-get away! Get away from me!" The girl screamed, and the real Aurora on the ground wiped away her tears and struggled to get up to her feet as she hurt her ankle.
"Raba! That's not me love...She's not real!" Aurora's voice was desperate, but he needed to know. He needed to battle this fear of his.
"Raba...Raba look at me." His eyes flashed towards her in complete awe, that there was another one of herself. So with the unstable wand rose up further.
"R-ridiculous!" It was lacking the meaning in it, but had Aurora gone back in front of the boggart she would just face her nightmare yet again in.
"Again...Rabastan again. You have to mean it." He followed up with another attempt, but it was on the third chance that the boggart swirled and took the appearance to what she was currently wearing.
But before it could retreat to it's hiding form, Rory killed it.
A Boggart was not going to infest her library, heavens no. Not under her watch.
Sitting up straight did she lean her back against the bookshelf and sigh in relief.
"What a bitch." She breathed, shaking her head and attempting to calm her breath.
"R-rory I—"
"Rabastan I am not scared of you, are you going to get it through your thick skull that you're like a cuddly bear when you're with me?" His eyes were dancing between where she was placed to the Boggart.
"Can you help me up?" She questioned, and it instantly kicked him into gear as he jolted at the action. Only when she put pressure onto her ankle it stung.
"What...What is it? Does something hurt? I can get—"
"Just a sprained ankle, takes a second to fix. Will you breath a little?" He tried to smile but he was feeling the anxiety of it all. That seeing with a simple sprain was giving him an attack.
With a flick her wrist she repaired her ankle and slipped out of the small heels she had been wearing. Granted they had broke when she fell so it was no use continuing to wear them.
It was from there he babied her, he didn't allow her to walk on her two feet.
Instead he had Daisy put in the reading chair from her study to his own, it was nice sure. But he would continuously ask if she was alright.
And nothing annoyed her more than that.
So when Omen snuck her way in, Rory ditched her book and cuddled with the cat. "I think you should curl up with that worry wart over there darling."
Meow!
"That's what I think too Omey."
"Merlin. Have you gone mad?" She turned her head back to look in his direction, he amused sure but she hugged Omen further.
"Well no cuddles for you then. Sir." He huffed in damnation, he didn't forget that she called him a teddy bear.
He was indeed soft in the presence of his wife, but a bloody teddy bear?!
"Cuddles, Circe Rory I'm a bloody Death Eater."
"And I don't care if you're the king of England, you can't tell me that what I saw downstairs isn't your greatest fear. We're each other's weaknesses." She was right and he knew it, but that didn't mean he had to voice it out loud.
"Rabastan I'm sitting in your study now because of a sprain I mended two hours ago...A-Are...Were you scared of mine...Is that why you-" He stood up abruptly and kneed down beside her.
"Kitten, absolutely not. I wanted to go and apologize for my insensitivity and then hearing you scream I thought the order came." A whelm of understanding flew through her as she took in Rabastan's cheeks.
"I didn't mean to scream Raba, I swear it's—"
"A perfectly normal reaction, there had been a boggart in our room. Perhaps we should have an exterminator come." Rory agreed, but she felt rather guilty in causing him to panic, her being kidnapped wasn't all that difficult to see.
