Rabastan had been ecstatic ever since Aurora had mentioned the name of a child. In reality he had been thinking about it as well, but her dream of being a potions mistress is to come first. He reminded himself of that time and time again.
Yet every time he had given her his seed he secretly wished she'd get pregnant, but the wait for her to be healthy once again. Especially since he couldn't bare the idea of something happening to their child or Aurora due to her health.
So after a very drastic and spur of the moment arousal after dinner, the two of them were left breathless staring up at the ceiling with the rush of pleasure surging through their body.
"Ronan..." Rabastan whispered, and Aurora giggled. "Oh you bastard, I was half asleep when I said Romulus and now—"
"What do you think, Ronan or Dimitri?" The second one tickled her attention as she was caught with a titled head. Perking her lips and now giving him her full attention to look directly at him, or as directly as she thought would be.
"How about both? Three children Raba...Romulus, Ronan and Dimitri. I love them all already."
"I bet at least one is going to follow their mother and join her flock." The sound of that had earned him another smile.
"And we promise to...?" She started, and he nudged his nose up in having to say it all. "Treat all our children the same, yes yes Rory. We aren't our parents, and Walburga will not be anywhere near them. Ever." She beamed, humming and nuzzling further into his chest.
"What of a girls name?" Causing his wife to lose the beam and lick her lips. "I thought of Delphi, but it didn't sound right...Then Halsey."
"I might have to stop you at five love." That earned her a barrel of laughter as she sat up, dragging the blanket up for a moment.
"Seeing as we're both eighteen, and adding six years to the count then."
"Twenty four and a home filled with children? One in each year, that sounds a bit much." She sprinkled her hands and agrees. "Three then?"
"Four."
"Four." They agree on set number and she pokes his nose as he had been relaxing into the pillow.
"When'd you want to get started on that counted four?"
"Well let's think for a moment and do a bit of math, we could have two within the same year as that was prove. So I'd need to get pregnant around...Say March?" As Rabastan had been on the sex high his brain been a bit slow in attempting to follow her math trail and then she smirked.
"So when my class is finished, we'll—"
"Celebrate a roaring success."
"And your birthday." His brows wiggled at the sound of that...
However in the coming days, Aurora's sight was slowly but surely gaining the etching of light. Merlin had it been a beautiful moment as she followed towards the window, though it had woken up Rabastan as she hurried along to the confusing shades of black she saw.
"Love?"
"I think I can see the light." Sure it sounded morbid, but he instantly took that as a sign of good faith. He jumped up and made it to her side as he looked to her in waiting for a response.
"I think I'm seeing shades...It's not black anymore." Tears of joy welled in her eyes as he managed to get her clothes in order to head off to the doctor, this was the good news they were waiting for.
An improvement.
To everyone, Otto included, there was indeed a sign of betterment to her condition. From there it was an additive of lesser potions and to better it...Aurora was allowed to take the lecture classes with her class. They would not be brewing for some alluded amount of time, but the witch didn't care. She sat in class and allowed herself the benefit of listening to every word spoken at the head of the class.
Granted, the two who were not be present were Luke and Damocles as Zane had told her. The man was delighted to take his fellow classmate to and from classes as it aided for Rabastan to get his own work done, and to top it all off Mr. Lestrange invited both him and his wife over for dinner while the children played in Aurora's garden.
It had been a perfect night, and although Rory couldn't rightly see how Raba was doing with the children. It was enough to know he was doing well when Zackary called him 'Bass'.
Another week had passed and the shades were gaining to hold just a light tint, this drew more hope than prior. However at the current moment, Aurora would be faced with a problem, two...
But considering she couldn't see the glowing textbook attempting to gain her attention she went with the latter of opening a parcel, a quick flick of her wrist managed to translate the paper into brail and she began reading it.
Upon getting to the details of this addressed letter, she gritted her teeth, hiking up her dress and hurried along to her husband's study.
Her anger could be defined with the knock that she presented herself with, as well as the walk that she managed to count quickly as she slammed the letter onto his desk.
After handing it off she went directly towards the window to hold herself.
"Merlin, what in gods name has happened that you—" His eyes skimmed the paper, over and over again as he tried to understand the reason behind this filed statement.
Damocles Belby was suing Cassiopeia Lestrange for sabotage of his career as a potioneer.
"How much is he suing me for?" He looked over to his wife, the poor woman was clutching her necklace for the dear life of her as she looked mistakenly warn out.
"A million Galleons." His voice was low, but then he started to laugh.
"Bastard thinks he's going to get a bloody Knut out of us he's surely mistaken...Let me owl my father Rory, don't worry about a bloody thing." Rabastan had started to get up for a moment but the girl was shaking.
"He's blaming me for the incident...Raba h-how could someone be such a—"
"Love there are a dozen things I would love to do when meeting this bloke, but Zane said he was booted out of the program. I'm going to owl Otto and my father." She nodded, and mumbled that her own father would have some insight of this as well.
Which caused an outroar as Orion had been the first, followed by Otto while Senior Lestrange came with a suitcase and a filament of his firm.
Rory was in her study, attempting to clear her thoughts as she was pacing back and forth. The elf begged her to sit down, begged her to drink some tea. But it was the entrance of her father that would give her some clearance.
"I don't want to come downstairs Raba I can't." His daughter was crying, as if she hadn't suffered enough.
"You don't have to, you don't have to do a damn thing my little light." It had been a long time since she had been called that, since her wedding day...And here they were, already in the middle of October.
"Money, he's asking for money. You'd think the bastard would be fine with a return in education."
"From what Otto has claimed he did more than just flirt in a classroom setting." Although odd to hear from her father it was true, he had snuck glances left and right, he made her feel uncomfortable in class with the added attention.
No wonder he managed to fuck up a potion.
"Otto is going to get members of the board and your professor, you have nothing to fear." She found comfort in her father's hold, it was an issue that his daughter would get throughout her life.
But this stress was not good for her health, so he took the words of the worried elf and made his daughter finish the given two cups worth of it.
Props to Rabastan for lacing it with calming drought.
*
The army that Aurora had behind her was strong, and nothing compared to what Damocles could have managed. Her father had the means, Otto had the representatives, Malfoy had the pull at the ministry and the Lestrange's?
Both were too involved with the law not to aid their newest member.
With the help of Clarissa had Aurora looked her damned best for the hearing, the lace was added last on top of her face as her the likes of her eyes still made people stare.
That made her uncomfortable.
"You keep your chin up darling, lad won't know what hit him at all." She offered her mother in law a smile before escorted to the ministry, the issue with this being a hood was placed over her head as Rabastan protected his wife from the endless amount of cameras flashing.
Merlin was she sick of the noise, it used to aid her on where to walk and where everyone was. But the shouting was causing her a whirl of anxiety straight away.
On top of all this, the smoke and camera ash made it an added irritation, it came to the point of Rabastan taking her into his hold entirely before they made their way to the elevator.
Her team blocked it all, in reality it was a strong team. Circe have Damocles if he survives this, because the outrage the Dark Lord had?... Goddess be damn near a blessing if this man lives through the rest of the year.
Downstairs they had met Malfoy who had kissed Aurora's cheek in good luck. Though entering the stage like area did Aurora smell the mix of people in the audience.
The way that her father in law had worded it, is that each person had already come in with a deciding side. It was their job to either change their mind or keep them leveled on the same side.
Easy enough.
Rabastan took one look at Damocles and anger filled him instantly, as this is the man who was causing the direct glare to an unknowing woman.
Had there been no officials merlin would he love to torture the living lights out of the half-blood.
"This room is now in session, we're called to this room today by Damocles Belby. Mr. Belby has taken Mrs. Cassiopeia Lestrange due to defamation of his public image. The bargain price to drop all charges is one million Salleons. Mrs.Lestrange, how do counter?" Her in law had risen and claimed that they weren't going to take the alluded amount and finally...Finally, Damocles felt the pressure.
"Minister, if you check the first section of the course case you can clearly see my defendant here is innocent of any and all claims that this wizard attempts to make. Not only had he managed to put all those in Dareth academy at risk, but he had injured himself and others in close proximity." This had caught the minister's attention as he directed his attention to the woman of the hour.
"Mrs.Lestrange what are your injuries."
"Past the chemical burns. I am still dealing with vision impairment." Words like blind and temporary were cut out of her vocabulary at Rabastan's attics.
This would sucker those around her further.
"My client had made a general mistake minister, Dareth academy has suffered incidences in the past, three accounts this year and none have resulted in expulsion." Aurora clenched her teeth, and Rabastan held back a grunt at how much force his little wife was squeezing his hand with.
"Now what does that have to do with my client and the notion that she destroyed Mr.Belby's image, it seems he managed that on his own...But if Minister you would like to know about Mr.Belby's image, he harassed my client repeatedly throughout the likes of the classroom. And multiple students within the classroom could testify further." This had set Belby off.
"You had me expelled of purpose, you foiled my potion!" He yelled, and Aurora huffed in annoyance.
"Actually Mr.Belby, you are alive because of Mrs.Lestrange's quick actions and confining the blast." Merlin was she going to give her second father the best damn bottle of fire whiskey she could find after this bloody thing.
But after Damocles continued his out of lead comment Aurora interjected. "Do you deny saying I'm having an affair with Mr.Hanson?" She spit, and that caught their attention.
"I never said—"
"Yes. I believe the correct words were that I was fit and that Mr.Handson was a lucky wizard...Those don't sound like classroom comments either Mr.Belby." She caught him in her clutches easily.
"And what eighteen-year-old witch manages to gain entry into a private academy such as Dareth." She smirked rallied.
"At least I know how to properly watch my cauldron and didn't cause a fatal rookie mistake. Minister, in the realm of potion making he made a second-year error." The chuckles were found across the room, many of which were potion fanatics or knew their studies enough to properly oversee this case.
And they instantly know.
"I believe that's another addition to the list Mr.Belby, that my client slept her way to the position?... Minister, this case was in demand of a failed potioneer who panicked and wished to make amends in all the wrong areas. What has happened to my client physically had indeed caused her great grief and paused her academic status. Why should she face the unjust while he walks free?" It caused a rally, one of which that the minister silenced with a slam of the small hammer.
With the progression of witnesses and their doctors who treated both of their injuries had those sitting in the case seemingly gain information step by step.
But this one comment threw Aurora of balance.
"What is a witch doing as a potioneer anyhow?"
"To get my potion mistress license Mr.Belby, I'm sorry you feel so threatened that you're trying to ruin my own credibility now. But truthfully I wouldn't trust you cleaning my dirty cauldron. Your work is sloppy and an obvious danger to those in the classroom and around it." It was then that the wizard had taken too much as he stood up.
"Sit down Mr.Belby...I believe it's time we cast a vote." Aurora sat once again out of the loop, but Rabastan counted the numbers in favor of her opponent and the given five that raised their hands.
They were his supporters or supports of his family.
"Mrs.Lestrange is dropped of all charges pressed to her from Mr.Belby, as well as Mr.Belby being charged with defamation of Mrs.Lestrange's image and comments of harassment. The counter to redeem his actions?" Senior Lestrange took a moment to whisper to his daughter in hearing on what she wanted.
And money wasn't one of them.
Rabastan and Otto had heard the sentence, and that was entirely worse than anything else. "6 months of community services at Saint Mungos, in addition to clearing her name in the paper." Sure he had added it, but it was his name. And there were already three sets of Mrs to the Lestrange name.
The slam of the hammer commenced and Aurora let out a breath. "The settlement starts at the first of November, Mr.Belby will take to whatever Saint Mungos has in aid for a work of 40 hours at minimum. Case dismissed." An anxious tear slipped down her face, because even with this out of the way...Even with Damocles out of the picture, she is still blind.
"Mrs.Lestrange?" A voice popped up, the smell rightly unfamiliar but the voice surely was. "It's the minister Rory." She offered a smile and her hand out in extension, granted she rightly didn't know if he offered first or not.
"You did a service to the Dareth academy when defending the classroom and the likes of it, my son in law attends the facility in the classroom closest...Had you not acted then my daughter would be without a husband and their children without a father. And I'm sure the council at Dareth is beyond thankful." Otto had smiled and offered a hand onto her shoulder.
"More than that minster."
"...For your quick thinking, I am awarding you second class order of Merlin." Cassiopeia Aurora Lestrange nee Black had missed a heartbeat, had she heard the minister correctly?
"Sir?"
"Well I can't think of another way to properly reward, especially when you're still facing the vision impairment." How...How in the ever living hell did she manage to get an Order of Merlin at eighteen?!
The bouts of congratulations followed through, and before Aurora knew it she would be forced to make it through the sea of cameras again.
"And?" Lucius questioned, and Rabastan chuckled out.
"This one came out with an Order of Merlin." Aurora jabbed her elbow into her husband's side.
Lucius Malfoy took a share of laughter as well, it was indeed funny. Coming here on account of being sued and still managing to be placed up top.
"Cassi are you alright?" The conversation around her continued and although she nodded to her father, the bustle all around her was starting to give her a migraine.
"Come love lets get you home." The cameras hardly bothered her, the likes of her cloak and Rabastan's hand adding another layer of protection to his wife. Merlin did he want to break every last one of them...But with Aurora's blindness came the sense of gaining empathy.
"Raba please...Calm down." His grip on her had tightened far too much for her to handle, but as lead her into the floo system to arrive back at the manner, instantly she fell to the floor.
"Aurora, what is it? What can I do?" She girl instantly threw off the cloth covering her eyes as she attempted to sooth her trembling migraine.
"P-potion...The headache came back." Rabastan took the liberty of carrying his wife up to the steps and playing her onto the bed.
"How about you take a bath darling, doc said it'd help." She hummed along and thus it settled the order for a bath, though the request cold bath that confused him.
Although he wanted to wait with his wife and make sure she is settled, she claimed that Daisy would help if she needed it...Besides, most of today's group were downstairs and it'd be rude otherwise.
They all understood that it had been emotional and draining for the young witch, so they excused themselves politely. Orion had been the last, urging Rabastan as a reminder if there was anything that they needed he would come.
When he returned to his wife however she was already in the tub, well into the tub as she submerged herself underneath. And a moment or two later she sprung up and gasped for air.
"I didn't think the trial was that bad to think of drowning yourself love." She scoffed as she pushed back her hair.
"It was all the noise and the—the flashes." Waving her hand did they end by caressing her eyes, truthfully he had seen his wife doing that far too much.
"I didn't say thank you to—"
"Rory you need rest, you were tossing last night. My father knows you're grateful." She let out a weak smile.
"Join me?" His mischievous smirk rose as he quickly undressed and positioned himself behind her.
"Merlin kitten, how are you not freezing?"
"Let's leave Merlin out of this." He leaned to catch a small kiss at the top of her cheekbone.
"My wife...Second class, Order of Merlin." Her smile was indeed wide, he rightly didn't see this coming either.
"Hmm, when did you have to go on that trip?" The Dark Lord wanted him for a mission, but in that instance he was going to make sure that Aurora was taken care of.
Not wanting to her in the Malfoy manner by herself with only Narcissa he decided that if he was indeed put on the mission then he would put her with his parents.
His mother would adore some time with her daughter in law.
Granted Aurora's headache simmered down quite a bit but spiked throughout the rest of the day. Rabastan assumed it was the build-up of this ministry meeting, but seeing how she fell asleep far too easily, and then woke up in a panic nightmare just an hour later caused an entire mess of fears on his own account.
"Kitten it's alright, shhshh. Listen to my voice darling, right here." Wiping her eyes did she motion to her nightstand.
"I...I had a vision Raba...I need those bottles." It was the oddest request but he wasn't going to deny her what she needed in order to serve the Dark Lord. So he handed her the bottles but the witch couldn't find her wand.
"Aurora, tell me what you need."
"M-my wand." The woman had started being careless considering she used it so little, but he wasted no time in handing her his own.
It tingled sure, but like the wand was threaded with the likes of Rabastan's soul and bonded with him. That spread to his wife and allowed the proper use of dragging the memory out of her head.
"It was all sounds...It sounded like a battle of some sorts, it was loud...Goddess it was loud." He rightly never knew how draining it was or how much this already was for the Dark Lord.
He aided her in allowing the memory to fall into the bottle smoothly as her air wasn't rightly accurate at the moment. However she automatically had gone for a second memory.
"There were two?"
"I keep one just in case...They're in my study if the Dark Lord ever asks." How she didn't skip a beat in a lie, he nodded and allowed her to continue in utter silence.
"Daisy, get a cup of tea for Rory." He ordered, more than likely waking the poor elf up. But Aurora couldn't even hide the guilt as she still felt the odd texture of some sort of swamp, she was going to review it later when her heart wasn't pounding and Rabastan wasn't mother-henning her.
He allowed her to sit in the same position that they usually do in the tub. She was leaning against his chest and sipping her tea delinquently, her eyes closed as she was attempting to remember it.
"I heard your voice...You were yelling out, but it wasn't to just me...There was so much smoke, I felt like I was choking...Then—Then I felt like I was in a swamp, it doesn't make any sense." Rabastan ran a hand through her hair in an attempt to remind her that she wasn't alone.
"Do your dreams always make sense?" She shakes her head. "It's always broken like that, but you are usually always in here...Actually, I think I saw our room one time." He stilled, had she known that they were going to get married?
"So you designed the room from a vision from the future, that is a little too much for me to put my head around love." She shook her head.
"We weren't sleeping, Raba." His brow rose, though she had no knowledge of it. "And when was this dream?"
"It was one of my first, so Third year—" He instinctively leaned down to her ear and whispered the first thing he thought of.
"My dirty little kitty." Hiding her shy smile into her smile. These moments were starting to grow more intimate, him just holding her in his protective hold...
Yes, Rabastan Lestrange is indeed content.
