Rabastan agreed at the switch of Hospitals, granted this one was built for longer stays and provided a bed for him to sleep in beside his wife. However they managed to conjoin the two, and for the first time in days was he finally allowed to cuddle his wife.
Granted waking up was always a bit of a panic, but his arms were always there to reign her back into reality. Her first bit of hopelessness kicked in, it happened during one of these nightly freakouts.
And Rabastan too worried for the fate of her vision. She began to talk about never being able to see their children. To become this liability?
Aurora didn't favor being helpless in any regard, but this was horrific. And when they were sent home with a concluded concoction, it rallied theories of worries in Rabastan's mind.
Granted the bastards that caused this were facing similar problems with their eyes.
"Raba I can walk perfectly fine." He groaned already, it had been barely two minutes into their manor and she managed to be difficult in that small amount of time.
"I swear to the bloody goddess above, if you offer that cane Malfoy gifted I'm going to smack you with it." He instantly placed it down onto the table before them both and she smirked at catching him.
"That didn't have a smell, you are psychic aren't you?"
"Well that would've proved our Divination's professor wrong, she said I didn't have the talent for it." The woman was dead wrong, Aurora had visions of the future and gifted them to the Dark Lord.
Voldemort assumed that with this loss of vision that she would gain more of these glimpses of the future but they haven't occurred as of late. Granted the last was during the school year, and here she was...End of summer and the third day into September.
"Raba I simply want to read, write a letter to Reg and listen to the radio...You sir have work to do." He huffed, knowing she was right, but bumping into the table proved otherwise.
"Should I let you tackle the stairs as well?"
"You can sleep in the guest room if you prefer, now get your work done." She spoke, attempting to manage the distance between the foyer and the stairs.
And when he looked down he noticed his wife had ended up taking the cane.
"I swear if I hear one bloody word from Malfoy you are really ending up in the guest room!"
"No problem love, I don't like his cocky smirk anymore than you." It was a shared distaste of Narcissa's husband, he was too arrogant for his own good. Merlin Aurora at the current moment could manage him on his good for nothing arse.
"OMEN YOU KNOW I CAN'T SEE!" Rushing up the steps did he see his wife rubbing her knee in a soothing motion, and he sighed.
"Suppose Omen is ending up in the guest room with me?" She hummed as she began to rub her palm against her forehead.
"This is useless." She began, and Rabastan could do nothing more than wrap his arms around her.
"Love, temporary. Don't give up hope in Otto and his team." Granted he had hope, the man was long into retirement in the setting of teams and teaching, but this is what brought him back into the picture.
And he'd be damned if he let his best student live like this.
"How about we put on your favorite book recording and we get to writing Reg, he'd want to know you're home." She hummed, asking if she could have some tea. And if his wife wanted it, she was going to receive anything she wanted.
If it made her comfortable she would indeed get it.
Granted this prompted to her falling asleep wherever, in her study, outside in the Gazebo...Everywhere.
Rabastan did not complain one bit, and Aurora loved him for it entirely. She worried that his parents would push for him to divorce and remarry, but this was probably the mix of potions causing anxious thoughts to fester in.
It was times like this that he loved his mother, she gave the idea of inviting Aurora friends over for a gossip session, and after a full week of dark and gloom, she was indeed excited to hear from other friends.
No matter how down Aurora turned, she did not allow her husband to baby her. And it was all due to her counting her steps. The stairs itself had 19, and from there it was thirty-two steps to her study and twenty-five to Rabastan's. Their bedroom was simply at the end of the hall, close to fifty-seven.
Rabastan didn't question this of her, it was working so so be it. The only problem was he did not like her taking showers or baths on his own.
Where nightmares plagued Aurora, they found their way into her husband as well. Usually it was cured with a quick glass of fire whiskey and a flick of his wand hiding the scent.
But for Rory, Rabastan's soothing made everything better. Her being swallowed by the darkness was one, or how she would run and suddenly have to face a never-ending fall?
Either was terrifying, and on top of that he absolutely hated leaving her in the house alone. In those cases Cissy came over, it got her out of the Malfoy manner as well as the chance to spend time with her cousin.
With the month way mark coming up, it was getting fairly normal to have to feel her way around, however at the current moment both he and his wife were being summoned. So perhaps this would be just a table meeting?
He hoped.
"Rory?" He called out, and his wife attempt to look at the door but was off by a few inches.
"We're being summoned, do you want help getting dressed?"
"S-summoned?" She whispered, anxiety lacing every syllable as she closed her newest brail book.
Rabastan gave her all the props in the world for managing this new talent. Bless Regulus for getting this idea.
"Yeah...yeah can you help me pick out a dress?" He smirked entirely as he led his wife to their room and into the closet.
"That is more of bedroom wear love, I don't want anyone seeing you in that." She smirked over her shoulder as she continued to feel the material.
"I can just wear a skirt and blouse." He agreed but the length of this closest was bigger than either of their previous bedrooms.
He silenced his smile after seeing her in a green blouse, but even better as he watched her dress herself. How she managed to do it automatically without needing any more help allowed him this moment to admire.
This was one of the biggest challenges by far, being intimate. Course he would love to ravish her, but would that be selfish?
While he was battling his own inner battle, Aurora was feeling selfish about not keeping the sex appeal now that she couldn't see.
"Raba can you hand me some panties?" Merlin was she trying to make his life miserable? Grabbing the first pair with little to no thought as he was trying not to gain any arousal from it.
"Rabastan?" She called out mere seconds after being handed the panties, and he couldn't understand what happened. "These are for the bedroom, how about you find one that covers my arse." He choked as he returned it, and now he knew what she was getting at.
"My apologies." He grabbed one that he saw her wear multiple times, granted this too was green. So perhaps it would be color coordination.
"Oh please, you like dressing me for bed." He hid his second choke with a cough, but luckily his wife was giggling off.
"Do you have my wand?" He did, personally he was afraid of her...Taking down a shelf when she meant to summon a book, the Elves would aid her if she needed it.
The two finally managed to leave the manner, granted it had been less than ten minutes. And one of Walburga's suggestion was to put a lace cloth over the likes of her eyes to cease attention, and so here the two were. Rabastan having a very secure hold onto his wife, but she attempted to hear all voices around her.
"Bass finally let you out?"
"Seem's my hearing is failing me, Avery? Did you say something?" His laughter was enough for Aurora to look in that direction and it startled Avery.
"How're you feelin' hun?" McNair called out, and she smiled and nodded along.
"Alright...Perhaps you two could take Rabastan out for a lads night?" It enlightened the mates entirely as they cheered and began planning the event, they still had a few moments as the Dark Lord was conversing with other members.
It happened far too quickly for either Rabastan or Aurora to properly see or feel it come. But the smell of raw magic had her shift partially, but it was Avery who deflected the likes of Bellatrix's attack.
Unfortunately it had been far too strong for the mate and Aurora gasped as her hand clenched the likes of her arm. Blood leaking already as she looked around in a panic.
"Bellatrix," Rabastan growled, his anger leveling far too much. He knew the women was on a mission, but attacking when the witch wasn't prepared?
"Has the classroom made you slow Cassi? Pitty." The taunts were bouncing off the walls, but the arrogance that was killing her pride. She smelled the spell but didn't have the means of defense.
As Aurora turned, Bella had stilled at the cloth covering her cousin's face. "And the missions have made you lacking dueling manners Bellatrix."
The younger Mrs.Lestrange had taken her husbands wand and healed her arm before returning it. But her hurt nature wasn't that easy to ignore.
"What's happened?!" Rabastan explained, and had it not been for the Dark Lord's meeting finally commencing then Bella would've set out to kill the lot of them.
After that mishap Aurora continued off into the meeting room, the smell of death had her nose twitch in disgust. Who died? When? For what?
Her lack of vision did not aid in any regard, and it turned for Rabastan to aid his wife into her seat. But once she was settled she leaned back in contemplating the voices around her.
It was always an odd shortcoming, to have the same view with or without her eyes open or closed.
The voices were telling and everyone assumed she was out of the loop. But she wasn't, she was gaining names and further instructions as to what they were planning.
"Rory?" Rabastan's husk voice pulled her out of her trans. Turning slightly did she already feel sick, the silence was waining in as the Dark Lord had entered the room.
"I'm fine. Promise." She whispered, squeezing his hand before letting go and giving her attention to what she assumed would be Voldemort.
Though she was blind to his expression, Voldemort was intrigued. But he waited to know his Death Eater's health until after the given meeting, the only issue in Aurora's mind is how she would send this to the order.
Granted she couldn't write all that well, but she would sure as hell try it.
Avery watched his best mate interact with Aurora from his stationed position beside her. The looks those around her were giving were all to damning, they saw her as a weak link...But also a favorite, and seeing as how Bella had so easily caused her harm, this would indeed be dangerous.
"Cassiopeia?... Do you believe this incident at your academy was an accident?"
"Yes my lord, the two responsible should never be near a cauldron to begin with." Snape, who had been at the other end of the table smirked.
She would say similar things to those in NEWT level potions class, and even now would she continue this saying. He wondered if she would need anything in the realm of potion review, he too knew a great deal so perhaps it was time to attempt interaction with the esteemed Madam Lestrange.
"Blind Death Eater? Couldn't even block Bella's—"
"How's Clementine Mr.Rookwood? She was complaining to me about yourself just the other day...Do you remember the promise that I made perfectly clear if you wrong her?" The wizard stilled, not only had she caught him in an immediate outing, but all the attention had been brought to him so kindly.
His anger greatly displayed.
"How dare—"
"Careful Augustus, that is my wife you're talking to." It silenced him in the instant, going against a Lestrange would send the rest in his direction. And after Bella's mishap just under an hour ago...She was going to attempt to get back into her sister's good graces.
The Dark Lord saw humor in all of this, even under the small lace cloth that covered her head like a mini veil it still provided entirely horrifying as her white eyes were indeed noticeable underneath it.
When dismissed Aurora stayed seated as she knew getting up was always a fall point, and when Avery had rose he leaned into Rabastan's ear.
"Perhaps it's unwise to leave Rory alone tonight..." He warned, and Aurora knew instantly that those at the other end of the table would be against her.
But would they really come to the manner if Rabastan wasn't there?
"That's a great idea love, you did buy that poker table for a reason." She cheered, and Rabastan could've kissed his wife at that brilliant notion, and thus it created a night they've only duplicated from their time at Hogwarts once before his wedding, but now he was the master of his own house.
The bar has been fully stocked for a while, and with Aurora's push to go through he was reluctant to agree. That and because his mates would protect Aurora as well.
They've proved that before.
"Cassiopeia...A moment." The Dark Lord called, and Aurora held out her hand for Rabastan to aid her, though she rightly didn't need it all that much.
It was more so she didn't know where the Dark Lord was at the moment.
"Leave us." The Dark Wizard ordered, and a quick kiss on Aurora's knuckles told her she would be left alone for the few short moments. "Gave your husband quiet the scare, he had to leave a meeting early due to your hospitalization."
"I'm sorry my Lord, he's been rightly by my side through this entire ideal." The man hummed, he did not have much of a scent, but the looming aura was far too be able to ignore.
"Your husband said that your eyes changed drastically, is it true?" She formed a sad smile before lifting up the small cloth that covered the likes of them. And when her eyes popped open once again he chuckled.
"You've been gifted seer eyes..."
"M-my Lord?" It was an odd revealance, and an even odder proclamation from someone like him.
"I have yet to have any visions my lord, all my dreams are plagued with nightmares and are nothing but darkness." He hummed once more, and somehow he tipped her chin up with the likes of his finger.
"What is your thoughts of Rookwood?"
"There is a reason he is at the other end of the table my Lord, that says enough." Whatever came out of this young Ravenclaw's mouth was indeed witty and clever.
But it wasn't laced with fear and the desperate need to please him.
"My Lord you said I have gained Seer eyes, do you believe I will ever gain my actual sight back?"
"Seers have the ability to see even if they are blind, my concern is how the Order will view this as." Aurora hummed.
"I'll be a liability, but there is little to no reason to leave my manor." It was true, rightfully Aurora didn't even need to leave her study either.
The meeting hadn't taken all that long, and when she had finally found the door Rabastan was quick to go to her side. "And, are your group of gamblers ready?" He chuckled, and the added laughter of his mates continued this smile.
The entire lot of them continued into the Lestrange manor and they went off in excitement to have some fun. It was McNair, Avery, Rodolpous, Dolohov, and Yaxley.
Had Rookwood not made a comment I'm sure he would've gained an invitation as well.
"Bet Rory could still come out on top...Want to join us love?" She waved her hand over her eyes in sharing the fact that she wouldn't be able to see her cards or anything.
"I'll be alright." She smiled, and when asked if she would just join them for a drink it was a saddening revelation to know she couldn't drink on the medication.
"Merlin bless that woman, smiling even when she can't bloody see," McNair mumbled, and Rodolphous hummed.
"My brother lucked out, now who's dealing?" The night went rightly like that, cigars smoked. Whiskey poured, the lot of them didn't gamble in real money but it was the idea of being the better player.
Their wealth combined in inheritance was far too great, even Aurora's was higher than the rest.
"You believe the Order will try and get Rory?" Avery questioned, but McNair scoffed.
"Rookwood is more of a candidate...What is Sirius going to do that he couldn't do before?" Rabastan stayed quiet for a moment, taking a long inhale from his well-handcrafted cigar before making a comment.
"Neither are going to get close to try a damn thing." He huffed, placing a bet as the game continued.
"Rookwood better watch out, cause I still get nightmares on what Rory said would happen if I hurt Harper." A smirk rallied, even though Yaxley had just started seeing Isabella this summer, he received the same warning.
That night Rory rewarded herself after she completed another chapter with little reference to her beginner brail book, and she indeed took her drops and managed to enjoy a whole kettle of steaming hot tea.
It settled her enough to start heading to bed, granted she needed to call Daisy in hopes of getting the proper clothes and finding her way into the bed.
Having already taken a bath today she went to sleep soundly, however the staggering steps of her husband had woken her up. Mostly due to the fact that he had sat down on the side of the bed and began caressing her cheek.
"So beautiful...My wife." The slur and scent of his breath was easy to identify, but he moved away before she managed to properly ask how his evening went.
He undressed, took a quick shower as he didn't want to smell like booze for his wife. And before she knew it, he wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close, whatever tea she had drank that evening smelled delectable and sent his hormones into overdrive.
Unknowing to him his hand started to have a mind of its own as it caressed the likes of his wife's arse. Gripping a tugging to feel through the fantasy his drunk mind was taking.
However, Rory being half asleep moaned at the sudden sexual attention.
"Raba?" His rough hand continued the motion, causing her bum to shift in pleasure.
Is Rabastan holding back?
"Rabastan?" She called out, and instantly the wizard kicked into gear as he pulled her close in thinking she was having a nightmare.
"Kitten, everything alright?" Bitting down on her lip did she shake her head, suppose this would be mean but he was the one feeling up her arse in his sleep.
Instead she gained the lead position as she turned to face him, and he so easily caved in.
"I wish I can make the pain go away love...You're so brave my little kitten." He was indeed drunk, these spouts of love only happened a few times, but it was adorable never the less.
So instead, Aurora felt down the likes of the nightshirt that Rabastan threw on, and once she managed to make contact with skin she kissed his chest. Making her way down further and further all while his hands resumed their place on her bum.
"Rory what...?"
"I've missed you Raba...Am I not the same now that—" He interrupted her with a kiss, never, never ever would he allow his wife to think that she was below average.
Dragging her back down so that her head could rest on a pillow made for the perfect motion of her legs wrapping around his waist.
"Are you sure love?" She nodded, her eyes looking directly into his, and a part of him was torn that she could no longer see his reactions to any of her actions, but he would treasure her in this moment, as she was missing him.
"I've neglected my wife...Allow me Rory, please..." She perked her lips, his body pressing down on her awaiting an answer. She leaned forward and kissed the nose before he met her once again.
"You playful lil thing." He inhaled her deeply to her neck and nipped.
"Little?" Instead of leaning backwards into his hold she leaned away, laughing up to the ceiling.
"Have I offended you Raba? I didn't mean to." She spoke, and he too found a bit of laughter in him.
Her dress so suddenly inched up high in terms of placement on her thigh, her legs wrapped strongly around his waist and griding into him in every angle but one.
The one she knew he adored.
With his aggravation and dedication had it aided her quest in getting undressed all the more quicker. Yet it was her sudden fear starting to soak through her veins.
"Slow Raba...For now take it slow." He hummed, unbuttoning the rest of her shirt and following the revealed skin with a sanctioned kiss in its place. When her giggling and laughter return he knew he had his wife return.
And all too easily, with a quick recollection of previous bouts of passion, the two soon fell into complete sync.
Gasping into the night's cold air did she hum in pleasure, she had missed him, in this context of course. But being treated with full health was another thing, especially when she leaned into his already opening hold.
"Was I too rough love?" She disagreed and kissed the essence of his bare skin. "Utterly Perfect." Her breasts pressing against him was heaven on earth as he planted a kiss onto her forehead.
As sleep started to plague the two spouses Aurora had an idea. A flashbulb moment as she whispered the name:
"Romulus." That instantly had Rabastan eyes pop open, anger and rage filling them. Had he heard her correctly?
"What?" A smile grew onto her face as her hand felt up and around his chest, the dazed smile and lingering kiss that she offered calmed his nerves, but all for a moment.
"...Romulus? I find it's a good boys name Raba...Have you ever thought of—" It was as if the entire earth shattered and suddenly supplied him every sexual fantasy, every whisper, every giggle.
This had been better than the Christmas dress she wore.
Even in her tired state did his sudden placement of her onto his body, separating her legs onto him as rolling back to be on top once again.
"All this baby talk...You know I made a promise with your father." Now that stopped the mood in its entirety, her hands managed to gesture back the messy strains of hair on his head that begged to be in the front.
"What promise?"
"That your career comes first." That stilled her in his grasp, her career was indeed put a halt. Even if she wasn't affected as much as she had been, the entire school was on a cleanse to ensure proper exterminate to any negative side effects from breathing in the air.
"Then...I'll focus on getting better, but right now it's just you..."
"And you." He smirked, his head feverishly devouring the swell of her breasts to enact yet another round as a splatter of laughter to boost the mood once more.
