✧IT'S NOTHING BUT A QUARL✧

The room was completely still, and Lori was naive to think that the silence was good. But she did pout at the fact that Aidan hadn't greeted her like he usually did, he would hold her up in the air and rub noses.

Yet all Aidan could think of was how many ways Lestrange would kill him for this. And it would be a lie to say that Rabastan wasn't already going in that direction.

"Lestrange." Rabastan smirked, it seemed like Aurora's lover was indeed afraid of him.

Good
, he thought, just as it should be.

"Proctor...I don't recall calling you."

"No, you didn't. I'm Aurora's first contact." Rage inflicted into Rabastan's eyes as he had to tear them away from the wizard, especially when Lori was in between the line of sight.

"Not anymore, you're not." Sweet goddess, Aidan could hardly keep a shiver—Course Aurora had dived a bit into the Death Eater activities. But it was clear as to why the Slytherin in front of him was chosen.

He spoke volumes of pureblood royalties, wether it be by the way he spoke or presented himself. But Aidan had to admit, even Aurora had changed since returning to Britian.

Regulus claimed it was what came with living with a title, that any sort of weakness would be sought after. So did Aurora's sudden fall count?

Was she going face repercussions for this?

"Daddy, is mummy going to be okay?" Rabastan had to withheld his awnser—He wasn't the healer in the room and nor was he daddy.
He was papa.

And while he wanted to be offended, the logical little angel on his shoulder reminded him that Lori had known him for just about the summer season.

She knew Aidan since she was born, and Rabastan hadn't asked if the bloke was present for the birth. Was Lori the reason his wife and this wizard found themselves getting together?

Acting as father and mother to Lori would surely bring them together easier than without.

"She's going to be just fine. Why don't I get you some juice from the cafeteria?...Can I get you a coffee?" Rabastan absolutely hated that the lad was trying to be kind, but dare he take the coffee from the potion master?

"Sure, Rory'll probably be wanting a tea if she wakes up soon as the healer said." Aidan nodded, rubbing Lori's arm before leaving the room.

It was numbing seeing her like this, but Lori was a blessing in disguise. It kept Rabastan calm and away from strangling the likes of the man on the other end of the room, who was reading through her vitals and scoffing.

"Something tickling you over there Proctor?"
"Yeah, she's a new healer—One that's incompetent enough to diagnose what's wrong." And with that, Rabastan was left with his daughter without a proper explanation on what the hell he meant.

Going off towards the same clipboard Proctor was analyzing, he tried to recall what her's looked like when she had been blinded all those years ago.

But his memory failed him, as did his knowledge on the medical world.

The next time Otto stepped foot into the room he'd have to ask for an explanation, however Proctor came back far too easily with a pale looking healer.

Who basically begged not to be reported on neglectful means, and perhaps it was an even bigger fear that the long dead Lestrange name suddenly popping back up—It scared most of the staff that he was here.

"I want a new bloody healer checking over my wife and your supervisor." Proctor didn't even give him a judgmental look, while Aidan know a thing or two in the realm and what it meant to make a mistake like this...He would've done the same.

And a moment of agreement settled the wizards until said fellow returned. But for the record Rabastan was able to use the law on his side, and thus explained the rights he had as the husband to the patient and if he wanted a new healer it was in his right to request it.

Especially in this instance.

"Forgot you're a lawyer." Aidan said, though that only caused Rabastan to cross his arms over his chest. "And you are...?"
"I'm an apothecary potion's master, I—"
"You prescribe and measure potions? I feel as though Rory a few words to say on that end of the having a master degree." The wizard taunted and Aidan had the nerve to roll his eyes.

"Who do you think helped her with wolfsbane?" It caused Rabastan's eyes to flare in the instant—For a simple moment he forgot that this man slept with his wife.

That he fell in love with his wife.

"Uncle Nair!" Thank the goddess above, Rabastan thought. He was going to say some not too kid friendly things in a moment if this arse didn't get a hold of himself.

"Well hello sweetheart, how about I take you to Auntie Evie?"
"But mummy's sick, I want to stay here with mum." She said with a pout, but it was starting to wain on her that it was so passed dinner—And the stress was making her moody.

"I'll owl you straight away Lolli, when mummy wakes up." The beautiful eyes that resembled his wife's looked up to him, they were glossy and read more than the pouts and pleas that the daughter was feeling.

"Promise?"
"I promise, go with your uncle and make sure eat a big suppe. Alright?" He settled a kiss to her temple and it settled her well enough as McNair continued out and carried little Ms.Lestrange out of the hospital and back home.

With the unknown timeline he ordered an elf to pack for the girl, while Loli got together her stuffies that she wants.

However come morning, Lorelei realized she hadn't gotten an owl. And Evelyn, while worried about her friend, worried about her friend's children just the same.

Did they tell the twins? Both in Hogwarts and in Salem?

Evelyn had a small inkling that Rabastan wouldn't think to tell the children, not because it wasn't on his mind—But after a few weeks of getting to be reintroduced to the Lestrange family, Rabastan was still having trouble realizing that the children weren't all that childish anymore.

There were times that Evelyn could see Romulus as the spitting image of Sirius and Regulus—But with Aurora's mannerism and kindness.

It wasn't until the third day of Aurora's unconscious state that the head healer had to explain to not only her husband—Who was a former Death Eater released on a pardon and miscommunication. As well as Otto Hanson, one of the biggest contributors to Saint Mungos. Then to be back checked by Aidan Proctor, it was a deadly combination.

And Aurora, who woke up to see the display of aggravation without any noise to follow their moving mouths. But seeing how angry Rabastan was caused her to frown.

So in question of her senses she started to snap her finger right beside her ear, and sure enough. She couldn't hear anything, though it did catch the attention of the others in the room.

"Love...How're you feeling?" Rabastan followed with dozens of questions as he gripped her hand that she was used to snapping beside her ear. And when she tried to use her other hand, it had been numbed with the rest of the side of her body.

She tried to read from his lips, but they were moving far too fast for her to properly translate—Added with the idea of an accent made it worse. So she wiggled her hand out of his steel tight hold and snapped her finger back to her ear.

"Well that's just grand, I'm deaf and numb on one side. What'd you make of that?" Aurora said, but while Rabastan gave her a rather firm look, Aidan was chuckling—Or at least she thought he was.

Rabastan turned to the healer in full expectation as to why his wife was feeling this way. And in record of that he stepped to the opposite side and Aurora was prepared for such an evaluation.

"She's taking to the medication, the numbness isn't a usual symptom of the tonic that was used by a small percentage may feel numbness. It should wear off as the medication leaves her system. As for the deafness, I'll have to take a blood sample to see what type of tonics Mrs.Lestrange is already taking that might've enacted this response." Rabastan nodded, but Aidan frowned.

"So you're saying that the nurse didn't take a blood test before giving her a dosage? For goddess sakes it's obvious, you gave her too much for her system to handle. Don't coat around the bush!" Rabastan smirked and tilted his head.

"I believe we'll be checking into another hospital, I want my wife ready to be moved and perhaps then we can have some competent explanations and not one that, try to blame it on my wife's health status." Aurora looked between both Rabastan and Aidan, their lips moving but no voice to follow on whatever they were discussing.

Whatever it was...They didn't look happy.

"Suppose that's a good sign?" Aurora mumbled, and the silent sigh of Rabastan caused her to frown. He turned around and held up a small cup and she instantly recognized the scent of tea as she looked readily excited about it.

Course she's been out for more than twenty-four hours.

"Aurora, do you have all your other senses?" Aidan asked, but with her eyes not looking towards him, the voice was lost. So Rabastan sat down in the seat to gain her atttention.

"Love, can you smell?" He said tapping his nose, and perhaps it was because Aurora had just woke up but she was massively confused.

"Oh goddess help me, what was that damn song—I hear it, I see it, I smell it—" Aidan sang, his hands hovering over the said body parts. Only to be stopped by Aurora's laughter.

"I am so bloody relieved I cannot hear that damn song, but I guess you're asking if I have my senses...It's phantom touches, but it's dead silent in the room. Pretty eery if you ask me. Otherwise I can certainly smell and taste the tea." She said, going to take another sip of it.

But Otto still looked in pure amusement of Aidan singing the children's song.

While Rabastan was left to not know what the hell happened, however in seeing her trying to rise to sit up—He aided her quick enough and she smiled.

"Thanks." She whispered, trying to roll her numb shoulder but it was of no use. Otto on the other hand brought out a pad and quill to write down a few sentences and she blinked down at it.

"Scratch that, my sight's a bit blurry...I could write them all down for the new facility. Hopefully you didn't give them too much of a hard time?" She spoke, and just like she expected either wizard was talking over the other but Otto just chuckled.

"She can't hear a thing you two, save it for later—actually don't. She might pretend it by then to escape the bickering," Otto said before giving Aurora a kissing on the crown before leaving fully.

While she couldn't hear, it didn't mean that she wasn't oblivious to the tension in the room now that Otto had left. However the long she was awake, the less high she appeared.

"Where's Lori?" Aidan hadn't a clue who the 'Uncle' was, but it was the same who warned them to stop conversing at Rory's party. So he was left to remain silent.

"She's with McNair love, she already owled this morning." Rabastan spoke slowly, having recognized that she was staring at his lips more than his eyes—However once he handed over the parcel, it caused the mother to smile.

"Can you owl Romulus and Imara?" Aurora question, and Rabastan ended up having to agree. Especially when they were moved to a new facility that claimed she would need to stay for observation for the next three days.
