It was morning already, Rabastan had woken her up late for a few reasons. One she looked far too peaceful, and the second is because he didn't want her to think he wanted her to get ready alongside him.
Rabastan hadn't managed to name each and every step she takes in preparing for the day, but seeing her in a nightgown with merely a thin robe over it was enough for him to wake up with the perfect attitude.
"I'll owl you when I can, why don't you invite Cissy or a few of your friends. Have a girls night." She smiled at the idea, but deep down her first thought had been the Marauders, but it was a good suggestion that she would look into doing when the house was a bit more put together.
She thought of Lily coming into the manor and react just the same as when she visited the Potter residence for the first time. But worse. Sirius would definitely remember the home and suggest all too quickly to burn it to the ground.
Saying her final goodbyes had prompted Rabastan to go through the floo system, as he was meant to meet up with his father before heading straight back to the country they had just returned from.
As she stood staring at the fireplace she began to start feeling...Alone.
But or the first time in...her whole life would she have the freedom to do whatever she felt like, in a whole house under her directive.
With Rabastan's lifestyle for both work and the play of Death Eaters, would this happen at the most random of times. The smile widened as she thought of a few random ideas, and thus Aurora Lestrange nee Black found herself soaking in the master bedroom tub with the music blaring in the background as she hummed along. Reading a book as well as snacking at whatever the elves had placed before her.
"Mistress! Mistress! May Daisy come in?" Aurora's eyes popped up to the door as the elf was questioning, unlike Kreacher who would bloody pop right in wherever he pleased.
"Of course, what is it Daisy?" She spoke, which allowed the little elf to hurry on with their little legs and offer up the letter.
Luckily it had been just her mother, informing of her impending visit later in the afternoon. Which already drained her considerably. "Mistress?" The elf dragged her out of her trans.
"My mother is coming sometimes this afternoon, tell the others to clean the foyer. Bloody women is going to find something to nag about...best to stay out of sight when she does come." Daisy adored her new mistress, her voice had been very soothing when directing an order. Even in the presence of the little elf's master...
Which seemed odd. She's very kind, even to the elf population of the manor.
The elf took the order and the warning went off to heave repairs whistle Aurora tried to ready herself for her mother's visit. She allowed her hair to flow down, as it'll be in a digression that Rabastan likes her hair down.
Then her mother wouldn't be able to say anything against that.
As she distracted herself up until the time slot her mother said she would be coming to, she had a list of what she would need to shop for. The idea of Narcissa doing a project sounded fair, her cousin always had ideas to share.
And both could use a distraction.
"Mistress! Mistress Black is here with young Master Black." Aurora smiled down to the little elf and waved them off before finding her way down to see her mother and brother waiting for her.
"Cassiopeia darling, you're glowing so brightly!" Her mother cheered, and the girl rolled her eyes as she turned to look at her brother. The boy shared an eager look, which was divided by him missing his sister to looking around at the new home, he surely recognized it here and there from their childhood.
"Yes well, the chateau was beautiful." That was enough of a thankful reaction as a mother could handle, so when Regulus stepped forward and embraced her into his hold.
"Did you have fun Rory?" The childish gaze that he gave his big sister was enough to know he wasn't asking about sex. But the grin on their mother's faces surely spoke other volumes.
"I'm sure they did, making some grandsons and you a nephew." That took Regulus by surprise as his brows twitted together while he put the pieces together, and finally, he couldn't handle it anymore and his cheeks flushed.
"What is this darling?" Walburga caught the list in her daughter's hand, and the girl merely held it out. "Just a few ideas for the rooms...That and the master bedroom is empty." Apparently that took Mistress Black to look around the home itself, having not been here for how long?
"It's really good to see you Rory, was France nice?"
"Heavens Reg it was gorgeous. The fields were so alive...Did you go to Germany?" It turned into a bit of a conversation and a catch up between the two siblings as they trailed behind their mother.
The woman herself never had a house to design and was living through the idea of doing it for her daughter. But with two calming hands to rest on her shoulders did Aurora stand her ground.
"Mother this is my project, I'll need something to occupy myself while Rabastan is away." Walburga took the hint shockingly enough.
But then the elder mother turned to her son and told him to find something to entertain him. "Muninn should be outside Reg, ask Dasiy for some treats." Aurora smiled, rather than telling him to find a task she gave him an idea of what to do and something she knew he would enjoy.
"What you are in need of occupying Aurora is producing a Lestrange heir." Aurora closed her eyes for a fraction of a second longer than normal before looking at her mother.
"It isn't for a lack of effort mother if that is what you're wondering, we—" Before she could finish her sentence, her mother called upon for Kreacher who held up a rather large box of potions.
"When was the last time you two had intercourse?" Aurora's face went red as she looked away from her mother. "Early this morning..." Although she felt dirty revealing that, Walburga couldn't be prouder.
"Perfect! I knew he was always obsessed with you. The longer you keep him satisfied the easier it will be." Aurora wanted to shout and scream, but held her tongue and offered the foyer to look over the potions.
"We've only been married a week, surely this takes time?" The hum from her mother as she was reading through the potions to find the correct one. And once she had it, she demanded that she prink her finger to test it.
Just to get it over with she pricked her finger and squeezed the blood into said vial. She knew that it wouldn't work, far too early if she was pregnant from all the times the last two weeks.
"Anything else that requires my blood?" She questioned, seeing how badly it had started to leak she began to wrap it with a napkin in hopes it stops in a moment or two.
"How many times have the two of your fornicated?" Now it was damned question that the poor girl couldn't fathom.
"Oh heavens sakes dearie, you think your father and I held back when we were first married?" Aurora choked on her sip of tea and shook her head.
"A-at least...Two times a day?... I suppose...Low balling it..." Was all she managed, barely a whisper.
"Excellent! Good for you darling, make sure this stays the same. At least once a day, granted when he isn't home you'll have to make up for it." She took the hits left and right, keeping it all on file to relay to Raba when he returns home.
Walburga was attempting to reach to something of her daughter's standards and her up a book. "Nothing is better than a guide to tell you what going on, is there...Now tell me, did you secure the virgin rites?" Ahh, so that's what her mother was looking for, the gossip of it.
Merlin was her mother self-absorbed.
"I...I believe so, and if not we shared it." Mrs.Black rose a brow to the newly made Mrs.Lestrange and shook her head. "Cassiopeia that was unwise to give him that scared power."
"I was thinking about his position at a Death Eater and what enemies that we could or would make." The sensibility of it all was surely well backed up, but the mother still shaked her head.
"Your cousin's managed to secure it—"
"Mother I have little doubt Bella waited for marriage." However she managed to make her mother cackled into the air, made some of the tension to leave Rory's shoulders. It was true, there was little foreground to really believe that the two were virgins for the rites to work.
Granted it didn't matter if the male was a virgin during this time, it only mattered for the women holding the barrier of womanhood.
It is where the blood magic lies.
"Unfortunetly I have an errand to run, Kreacher go and get—"
"Regulus can stay here mother, he's always welcomed to spend the night if you and father want an evening to yourselves." Whether that hit a mark or the nail on the head, the mother still ordered Kreacher to go and get the boy. And he returned with a smile on his face and Rowan on his shoulder.
"Cassi said you may spend the night, go with Kreacher and pack an overnight bag." The new wife held out her arm to call her bird back before her brother was sent to go.
"It is wise not to get cooped up in a house Cassiopeia, no matter how large."
"Of course not mother, I plan to work on the garden as well...The dinner parties in the summer were always grand, Raba and I want to continue that." It was good to hear on a mother's perspective that the two were already planning their lives as a couple.
The mother excused herself after a few moments, but Regulus was quick to get the bloody hell out of the house. And she smiled to see the boy with almost a sort of breathless relief.
"Merlin you should hear them at home Rory...That the box then? Can we burn it?" She chuckled, coming closer to the box and sending Kreacher off to bring it to her vanity upstairs. "Yes Mistress Lestrange." He departed with a pop.
But it had both Regulus and herself still for a moment. It caught her off guard at the name he had suddenly whipped out, and Regulus indeed was not in favor of the change.
"I guess you aren't a Black anymore huh?"
"Oh darling I will always be a Black, does it make Cissy or Bella any less than a Black because we're married?" He shrugged, but then sighed out loud.
"I heard them talking about some gal in the year below me...Elenor." Aurora thought for a moment before out her last name. The boy nodded but leaned further back into the couch.
"Merlin Rory I just want to think about catching the snitch not this utter nonsense." Aurora let out a chuckle as she took another sip of tea. "Reg it honestly isn't that bad, Elenor is a nice girl. And you are a fairly nice boy."
"Fairly?" He pipped up, and she chuckled at his childishness.
"I've heard you cuss on more than one occasion...Now, why don't you help me set up the solar system in my study...Anything you want for dinner?" His parents never truly listened to his favorites in foods, so he threw out ideas for what they could possibly eat and added a dessert with it as well.
His rather excited tone lasted all the way up to her study where they found the trunks that had littered her old bedroom but were now here. The study itself was more or less done considering she wanted it done first, her little reading nook converted a window for her troubles. Drawing area, a desk, shelves upon shelves. But then in the center was already a small dressing sofa that she quickly doubled for the entertainment of them both.
They soon conversed as though they were still in her room, he imaged that they were still in her room and Sirius had just fallen asleep too early to continue the conversation.
*
Regulus was due to return home at lunch, and it was perfect as Rory was going to go furniture shopping. 'Furniture shopping'.
In reality, she was going to stop in to see Albus as she warned on the coin.
She gave her share of whatever details she had learned on her honeymoon, perhaps that promise of 'whatever is said in the bedroom, stays in the bedroom' already broke the clause on that.
The Daily Prophet wasn't something the two spouses shared, or it was and they rallied for the cause. One reason why he wasn't sure she wanted to discuss it was because of where Sirius stood in this war. Otherwise he would've taken her straight to bed after hearing another group of blood traitors was killed.
And yet she had doubt of what Rabastan would do, whether it be loyalty to her or loyalty to the cause. It caused her stomach to rumble the tiny breakfast she ate alone as she sketched on the balcony.
Passing the time as well as asking Otto if there was any way she could just simply take the bloody test so she could have a lab at home.
The man had been more than just a mentor, he's been like a second father in the world for her own didn't know much, if anything.
Finishing these little minuscule tasks did she decide to venture off the property, and it gave her immense anxiety leaving the home without the presence of a male.
She detested to that.
Making her way into the Gringotts building did she smile to the Goblin. Having come in with her father loads of times she understood the transactions, but the lack of her father made her look like any other witch.
"Key please." The little fellow spoke, and she soon explained that she would be adding her name to another vault.
"Vault number, name and wand please." That last word felt so strained to hear, and so she offered up the number and her full name.
It was as if Rabastan or her father was now stationed beside her, for the goblin had been frantic to be adoring and sweet. It was one thing to have a vault that's in the lower digits, but the name truly secured that notion.
The manager of the floor instantly came over and bowed his head. "Madam Lestrange, if you'd please follow me." She followed off to the other side and continued onto the train, one of which she remembered clearer than ever that she enjoys the ride.
The first few times she would squeeze Sirius' hand until it was too numb to really take the needed amount of coins their father sought out.
Dressing well for the occasion did she frown out in seeing the same Dragon that haunted her childhood.
"Madam Lestrange...?" The Goblin had gestured for her to take one of the nose boxes, but she threw her enchanted the dragon to fall asleep for five minutes instead.
"Sorry sir, I'm not particularly fond of animal cruelty." She spoke, continuing past the beast and to the vault that she was now apart of.
Granted she was a little nervous in entering this families vault, but she would indeed manage her spending accordingly.
And put some money on the side.
It became an escape plan well before she married Rabastan, it was just a small bag of coins that she hadn't used up throughout her given years at Hogwarts. Granted it had been a little less since she was giving Sirius a share of her allowance but now it was back to full health.
"Lestrange Vault is cursed, careful Madam Lestrange." She nodded to him and began filling up a few coins as well as placing the betrothed necklace back into its rightful place. There had been endless accounts of jewelry out and about, and the Goblin too found the room in interest.
"Sir...Could you tell me what sort of metal this is?" She questioned, holding out the ring for him to analyze. After hearing the description she smiled and added it to the pile of coins she would leaving with.
Before boarding the cart she had awakened the Dragon so he would be able to continue the job.
The Goblin escorting her was in a massive treat, she wasn't like any of the other Lestranges and was delighted to be in her presence.
But most were taken by the combined Black and pureblood trained female in that regard.
After taking the recite she continued until she reached a designated apprenticing area before going off to the safe house, it took a moment before going through the motion of her personalized knock, but she flashed a smiled to both Alastor and Albus as she relied some of the information she learned over her honeymoon.
A few details that indeed had Mr.Moody gruffing with pride. Siding with the would-be notion that he trusted her the entire time.
He hadn't, but it's alright. She gained his trust, or as much as he normally allowed himself to trust someone at the very least.
"I hadn't rightly told you the entire list of what happened Albus the last time we talked, The Dark Lord plans to give me the mark in the near future. From the talk around I doubt it's just the wife mark, and I doubt I'll just be placed for potions. Not when Snape is making his way through the ranks." She whispered about, and Alastor growled at a new named Death Eater, it'd be easy to find Severus' weakness.
As she was an order member.
"Your brother has left on a mission, nothing too worrying. But with this freedom of your husband leaving on business ventures it gives you ample time for you to attend meetings." Aurora hummed at the idea, to see her true friends rather than just be forced to mingle with other fanatics.
Her Ravenclaw friends were not in that category at all.
"I see no problem, the house elves don't seem to be too much gossip to what I do. Not yet that is, and Rabastan has too much trust in me. Same with the rest of my family." With another roll of her at the idea of her blood relatives, it made Alastor stiffen.
"Well, I suppose a reward is in order. I'll plant a letter from Salem to come within the week." The girl was more than delighted, however Dumbledore had voiced his concern about Remus' healing situation and Aurora promised to visit him after going to the herbalist store and chatting up with the store owner, who was more than applaud by the women.
A Lestrange Pureblood women suddenly coming out of the massive manor that's been only hinted to the public...Came to talk about potions, creation, and design. As well as what she plans to have in her stores when she does pass the test so she can build her own lab.
But then she remembered a key detail, and it was a combination of her Ravenclaw and Slytherin traits rolled into one. If the ministry wouldn't give her the pass, she'd take it at another ministry.
Had she not had plans at Remus', then perhaps she would've stayed longer, but the guilt of the situation brought her to leave the apparent to the flat.
She's never been here before...
Sirius had promised in one of their messages to one another that he'd force her to come by, but with his missions stacked one after another it left little time for the siblings to get together.
Not even tempting to do so with the hectic schedule Aurora had herself...
As she touched the doorknob she was instantly revealed to be granted entry, Sirius must've done a blood spell. They were still siblings after all, and the number of times the invitation went unused?
He surely planned by this.
Aurora peeked her head into the door and sighed at the state it was in. Yup, defiantly men living here. Granted Sirius did take his favorite pieces from Uncle Afflie's manor as the furniture was stunning.
"Remus? It's Rory...You home?" She called out, alerting the man in bed to shoot right up. Damaging his poorly wrapped bandage and groan in response.
The young wife had waved her wand fruitfully a few times over, allowing the books to return to their designated spots. For the pots and pants to start cleaning and she sighed when she stood in front of the door to either her brother's room or Remus'.
"Are you indecent or can I come in?... Rem I have cat ears, I can hear you breathing." She cheers, which he huffed in aggravation as he always hated and forgot that aspect of her. So hiding away the picture of her from the wedding did she knock one more time before coming in.
The state of his room had seen worse, but her judgment of a tight lip was not one he needed right now. "Come to gloat?" He growled, attempting to get up onto his feet.
"No, there's a kettle on the stove. If I wanted to gloat I would've done so. Be a git, see how far it gets you." She spoke, allowing her wand to wave too and fro as it silently cleared up the room, even adding a signature scent of fresh herbal bliss.
Damnit he couldn't stay mad.
He soon followed her out of his room to see that the kitchen and living room were in the same state of being cleansed. But even Aurora still faults in the room.
"I'll give it the benefit that neither of you two live here all that much, but really?!" She issued, and he huffed again.
"I fancied my books on the floor." She rolled her eyes at that notion, knowing it was completely a lie and that he was a nutter about the condition of a book's cover as she was.
"You alright then? Because your cranky self is showing quite nicely...I'm even getting flashbacks to 7th year when you—" He groaned at her ability to call back, he had been moody and...Close to verbally abusive to her...The excuse of the full moon didn't rightly work.
"Rory I apologized for the entire year for—" Her smirk rallied, the second that she mentions the given even his guilt takes over. Thus creating a better mood to deal with him in. "Yes, you did. And I did apologize as well."
"A week later!" She smiled off behind her as she looked on around before eyeing her brother's door.
"Should I even dare?" She asked, and Remus gave a look of horror and silently shook his head in warning.
But the girl revealed her wand once more and braced herself for the impact. "OH MERLIN HAVE THAT FUCKING BOY I SWEAR TO BLOODY CRICI HERSELF REMUS IF YOU DON'T YELL AT HIM I'M—" Although Remus' ears were a bit on edge, it was nice to hear her vocal in a funny way about her brother.
As she looked at him in complete anger did she summon a blanket parchment. As well as a quill as she wrote a note, an aggressive one from the looks of it.
"I would bloody lose my mind if you left him a howler Rory." She pointed her finger and squinted. "Oi, your room didn't look that swell ether mister. You'd think a bloke would clean their room if they bring back dates." She reiterated her brother's antics for sleeping with random gals.
If it happened in Hogwarts why would it stop him out here.
Remus scratched the back of his head, he hadn't done that for...Or since the beginning freedoms this apartment allowed, he did bring a girl home once or twice.
Not to Aurora's knowledge of course, but her assumption had been right. Always the little seer.
"Shirt off. Now." He flinched at her demand, his imagination had rallied something else. His hormones quiet drastic, especially since her perfume was drastically louder than anything else.
So she tapped her own nose and he pouted, she smelled the blood. "I'll hold your tea hostage, up and at 'em." He carefully threw off his warmest jumper and placed it down onto the table. Once again he wasn't fond of her seeing him entirely for his scars and bites.
Considerably she was the only one he trusted beside Madam Pomfrey who's job it was to heal him. Rory always did it with a lot more care. And so when she left to find the bathroom and pulled out the little first aid kit did she find and figure out the best to help his scratches and bites.
"Rem, this is close to infection...What are you doing?" He narrowed his eyes to look down at it, perhaps he had missed a bandaged change because he was so bloody tired. But realistically he didn't want to bother anyone, and the girl in front of him was basically untouchable.
"You know what...No, we have to find a way to communicate quicker. Rem if you left this...You could've gotten sick." Her worrying was straining on him further and further as he sighed.
"I...I can't find Pad's notebook, have you moved in yet or-" Her hesitation before she nodded was violently highlighted in his mind.
"And, how is the bloody mansion? Did you run off to Spain for a honeymoon?" She perked her lips and shook her head.
"France...The house is fine...He's on a business meeting." Remus scoffed at the idea of Rabastan's 'business meeting' but he was indeed working with the ministry, of course FOR furthering the Death Eater community.
"France, close...Not quite." He spoke, and she frankly had enough judgment that she issued him a sort of antibiotic to fight off the closing infection.
"Drink up, Lily and Prongs will have my head if you die before the wedding." He downed it and let the bottle lightly drop to the table, only for Aurora to catch the whistling kettle in time.
"Yeah, will you save me a dance then?" He issued, and she smiled. "Of course, but Siri beat you for the first one." His eyes sparked, he hadn't known that it was a definite invitation for her to come. It felt like a breath of fresh air truth be told.
As Aurora placed the tea in front of him did they share a few words before the girl had to go, he was initially sad but she demanded that he go hang out with Prongs and give a letter to Lily.
He had half a sense and prepared for Lily to yell, but hell blew on over as the girl let him have it after reading what Aurora had written.
"She tell you where she went for her honeymoon?"
"Yeah, they bought her a France summer home. She looked disgusted but...We all know she likes a big field to run in." He offered, seeing as how he was granted another cup of tea and rallied it as he had an excuse and an invitation to stay.
Although they all laughed to when Aurora had seen the state of their flat. To the exact words she screamed in bloody murder.
Aurora, on the other hand, was present with another parcel from Rabastan as she silently ate her dinner and smiled. He'd be coming back in two more days and she pouted at the extra day, but archived it just in cause he protested against her 'going to Salem'.
However, the extra catalogs she requested lined beside the endless amounts of receipts of furniture that she had already ordered, the focus was on their bedroom. As well as some finer sheets, she knew Raba didn't rightly care but the girl had been picky due to her life of being spoiled.
It irked her, especially when it meant she changed out the Hogwarts standard sheets because they weren't enough.
It was rather exhausting moving things along, but the elves were more than happy to help. Especially since they've been stationed at this house for so long already without anything to do.
Yet the bedroom and her study were almost complete. But going to sleep in an empty room was rather boring, perhaps she could convince Raba to allow her to get another pet
Omen already gave her the stick eye, as if she heard Aurora's thoughts. Causing a bit of pampering and a cuddle session by the fireplace in her study.
She couldn't wait to start her potion career, because a taste of this life without anything to do was already making her drown.
