CHAPTER XXV.
chapter xxv.
"So, as you can see, I took some inspiration from Tessa Young for my outfit today." Evie joked as she and Tom walked side by side. The brunet laughed, nodding in agreement.
"It's okay, Tessa rocked it and so do you." He said. Evie felt better cheeks heat up a bit, giggling as she grinned.
"Well, technically we are the same person. Kinda," she told him, Tom just laughed it off.
"I just wore something casual, Tessa, as in my dog not your Tessa, chose the hat. She was chewing on it and brought it over to me. So, I wiped off the slobber and put it on to hide my bed head." Tom explained.
"I love her. She's the most precious thing— well, after Winnie." Evie said.
"Uh, no offense, but my daughter is way more precious than your son." The amusement was clear in his tone, but Evie wanted to play along.
She jokingly scoffed, "Uh, full offense, but Tessa wishes she was Winnie."
"Psh, yeah, okay." The boy rolled his eyes in a joking manner as he held the door to the restaurant open for the girl.
"Thank you, kind sir." She said, mimicking his accent.
"Wow, first you challenge my dog's cutestness then you make fun of my accent? You're on thin ice, Lewis." He pointed at her, pulling a serious-ish face.
They were soon seated in a booth near a window in the back of the restaurant. "Send me a picture of Tessa."
Tom raised an eyebrow in suspicion, but pulled out his phone anyway. "May I ask why?"
"You'll see," She said. She saved the photo of Tessa and found a picture of Winnie and made a side by side collage thing of both photos.

"Well, I'm voting for Tessa. So ha!" Tom said, sticking his tongue out at her.
"Well, Winnie is going to win." Evie said in a matter of factly way. "Okay, let's change the subject for now and we'll check the results later." Tom simply agreed with a nod.
"So, I heard you have an interview coming up?" Tom said.
"Yes, actually. It's press and stuff for After. Hero is gonna be there, too. I'm pretty excited," She explained. The conversation went from there, they kept asking one another thing about their careers, as well as other things they were passionate about.
Evie was going on and on about her love for her career, telling him about how she got into acting, her first auditions, etc. and Tom couldn't help but smile. He found the grin on her face as she rambled absolutely adorable, and he swore he could listen to her talk all day.
After roughly a half hour of being at the restaurant, they were getting ready to pay their bill. They went up to the front counter, and they both pulled out money.
"I'll cover it," Evie said. "I suggested we go out."
"Okay, and?" Tom said, a bit of a grin on his face.
"And it's only fair I cover this because I invited you." She reasoned, handing the girl at the cash register some cash.
Tom sighed, "well, since you wouldn't allow me cover the check, I'll cover the tip." He said, walking back over to the table and leaving a ten dollar bill. Tom and Evie existed the restaurant only to be mobbed by a bunch of fans. They took pictures, asked for autographs, and talked to the fans as the paparazzi took photos from the distance.
"Are you guys on a date?" One fan asked. Evie shook her head no.
"No, we just decided to go out for lunch. As friends," she said, emphasizing the word 'friends'. The girl had this look on her face, Evie couldn't tell if the look was saying, "I don't believe that but okay" or something like that.
"Tom, do you have a girlfriend?" Another girl asked.
"Nope, I am 110% single right now." He said in a joking manner.
"What about Natalia? Why did you guys break up?" She asked as he signed her phone case, like she requested.
"Sorry, darling, that's between me and her." He said, trying not to come off as disrespectful. Which, he wasn't, of course.
The group of fans eventually went away when Tom and Evie told them they had to get going, and that it was nice to meet them.
"I'll never get used to that," Evie said as they walked down the sidewalk. "It's simultaneously great and overwhelming all at the same time. I don't know how to explain it."
"Believe me, I know what you mean. It does get overwhelming, but hey, it's part of our job." Tom told her.
"True, true," Evie replied. "How many articles do you think are gonna he written about us hanging out?"
"I think you mean how many articles have already been written about us hanging out. Because clearly, word has gotten out." Tom joked.
