keep me sane

this is for MrsDylanOBrien12

Y/N POV

Two weeks.

It's been two weeks, and you'd think I would've composed myself by now.

But here I was, thinking again about how I don't remember anything, how we're stuck here, surrounding by the impending doom that is the maze.

I tried to sit in the glade, using the smooth grass as a way to calm me down but nothing was working.

My breaths were still quick, almost non-existent.

My hands were shaking, almost to the point of continuous vibration.

I can't handle it anymore. Just let it be over. I don't want this anymore.

"Y/N?" A muffled voice yelled, and a blur in my teary eyesight came closer.

"Y/N? What's going on?" They repeated.

"I- pa... nic, at-t-t" I stuttered uncontrollably, not even able to finish.

"Oh. Oh god. What do I do?" They rushed.

I just kept shaking, trying to tell them to just keep talking. That always helped me calmed down. Especially Thomas' voice.

Whether he was just speaking, or actually talking to me- his voice gave me a sense of safety. It had a certain deepness and smoothness to it that always soothes me.

"Come on. I got you." They nodded. I felt their arms pick me up, and start rushing.

Soon, trees came into vision, their branches blocking me from staring up at the sky.

The person carrying me kept on, until they showed down, lowering me against a tree.

"What do I do? What can I do?" They asked again, almost sounding as afraid as I was.

"I-I- jus... talk." I whimpered out.

"Okay. Okay- Y/N? Just- think of calm things. You're favorite... color. Favorite thing to do. Favorite person."

My mind instantly flashed to Thomas again. His soft brown hair, his toned arms, his rough hands.

Even though they were rough, the way they enclosed over my hands gave me a warm, tingly feeling.

Just like the person holding my hands now, who sounded much like Thomas.

The more I thought, the more I could breathe.

I let out a huge sigh and my vision came back to me, the tears being wiped away by the person next to me.

I sniffled, taking deep breaths now that I could.

I looked up at the person who'd helped me, seeing the oh-so familiar face.

  Thomas.

"Hey. You alright?" He smiled, his hazel eyes staring straight into mine.

"Yeah." I nodded, blushing. Although the redness from not being able to breath properly masked it.

He smiled and took a seat next to me, leaning his back against the tree.

"Thanks. For helping." I said, looking at him next to me.

"Speaking of-" he grinned. "What'd you think about? Did it really work?"

"Yeah-" I smiled, looking down at my lap. "It did."

"So, what was it?" He shrugged, leaning in slightly.

I thought about it, before giving in.

  "You."

His mouth slightly dropped open, still keeping the smile.

"Really?" He said, his eyebrows cinching.

  I nodded, looking down.

"I don't really have much- or remember much, I guess. So, being close to you helps me. Keeps me... sane." I breathed out.

His grin grew, and his cheeks became a slight pink as he glanced down to the ground.

"Do I really?" He slightly said.

I nodded, and bumped my shoulder with him, causing him to look up at me.

He kept his grin and bumped me back, letting out a laugh.

I let out a squeal and grabbed his shirt as I started falling back, making his arms reach out to help me.

When he lifted us back up, my hands were still clasped on his shirt and his arms were still around me.

I watched his eyes flicker down to my lips and back to my eyes, a certain look in his eyes.

He leaned in, making me follow. His lips quickly reached mine, instantly moving his lips against mine. I hummed on his lips, making him kiss me harder.

One of his hands reached from my back, gravitating towards my cheek. His lips were so soft, easily moving against mine. Even though we'd forgotten a lot-

He sure didn't forget how to kiss the hell out of someone.

Suddenly, I felt him moan into my mouth as my tongue swiped his bottom lip.

He immediately gave me entrance, our tongues massaging each other as we heavily breathed.

"Oh my god." He huffed, moving his lips slightly rougher now.

He leaned forward, until my back met with the leaves and he was hovering over me.

Thomas' lips still kept on mine, giving even more emotion now that he was pinning me down.

"Thomas." I chuckled, the name coming out in a short breath.

  He hummed in response.

"Are we seriously doing this in the woods?" I giggled, taking my lips off almost all the way.

He sighed, leaning back. His smile still plastered on his face.

"Okay. Okay." He laughed, backing off. He sat up, pulling me with him but this time, he wrapped an arm around me and pulled me into his body.

"You're mine too, ya know." He said, looking down at me.

"You're what?" I raised my eyebrow.

"What you said about me keeping you sane? You keep me sane." He smiled. I mimicked his grin, leaning in to peck his lips.

I always will, Thomas. Don't you worry.
