Imagine: Starring You and Christina Aguilera
Imagine: Starring You and Christina Aguilera
Imagine #16
You and Christina Aguilera have been arch enemies for awhile now. Both of you are the top female vocalists in the music industry and fans have been requesting for the two of you to have a vocal battle as some point. Christina ended up pulling a few strings so the two of you are about to battle it out live on tonight's episode of the Voice, filmed in front of a live audience. You do some vocal warm ups back stage, drink some water, and make your way to the main stage. Good luck girl, you got this... you hope.
When you get on stage, Christina gives you a bit of a dirty look but shakes your hand when told to do so. Since she's one of the coaches on the Voice, she gets to go first. That's fair you suppose but it certainly increases your nerves. As envious as you are of her, you have to admit that she's a legend. Her vocals are incredible. She looks at you with a smirk. "I'm going to sing my song Fighter, one of my personal favorites." The audience cheers before she even starts singing.
Well I thought I knew you, thinkin' that you were true
Guess I, I couldn't trust called your bluff time is up
'Cause I've had enough
You were there by my side, always down for the ride
But your joy ride just came down in flames cause your greed sold me out in shameAfter all of the stealing and cheating you probably think that
I hold resentment for you
But uh uh, oh no, you're wrong
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do, I wouldn't know
Just how capable I am to pull through
So I want to say thank you
Cause it'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighterNever saw it coming, all of your backstabbing
Just so you could cash in on a good thing before I'd realize your game
I heard you're goin' round playin', the victim now
But don't even begin feeling I'm the one to blame
'Cause you dug your own grave
After all of the fights and the lies cause you're wanting to haunt me
But that won't work anymore, no more,
It's over
'Cause if it wasn't for all of your torture
I wouldn't know how to be this way now and never back down
So I want to say thank you
Cause it'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighterHow could this man I thought I knew
Turn out to be unjust so cruel
Could only see the good in you
Pretended not to know the truth
You tried to hide your lies, disguise yourself
Through living in denial
But in the end you'll see
You won't stop meI am a fighter and I
I ain't goin' stop
There is no turning back
I've had enough'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighterYou thought I would forget,
But I remember
'Cause I remember
I remember
You thought I would forget,
But I remember
'Cause I remember
I remember'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
The audience roars and you applaud her because you don't want to look like a bitch. For your song, you've decided to cover a jazz classic inspired by one of the Voice contestants from a few seasons back. Everyone looks at you in shock at your song choice but lets you do your thing. You take a deep breath and begin singing.
I want a Sunday kind of love
A love to last past Saturday night
And I'd like to know it's more than love at first sight
And I want a Sunday kind of love
Oh yea yeaI want a a love that's on the square
Can't seem to find somebody
Someone to care
And I'm on a lonely road that leads to no where
I need a Sunday kind of loveI do my Sunday dreaming, Oh yea
And all my Sunday scheming
Every minute, every hour, every dayOh I'm hoping to discover
A certain kind of lover
Who will show me the wayAnd my arms need someone
Someone to enfold
To keep me warm when Mondays and Tuesdays grow cold
Love for all my life to have and to hold
Oh and I want a Sunday kind of love
Oh yea yea yeaI don't want a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, or Thursday, Friday or Saturday
Oh nothing but Sunday oh yea
I want a Sunday Sunday
I want a Sunday kind of love
Oh yea
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday kind of love
The audience even roars louder for you, which you didn't think was going to happen. Their higher level of applause means you've won the vocal battle. Christina sighs but extends a hand to shake. "I hate you admit it Y/N, but you slayed. Good job." You smile at her for once. "Thank you. You did amazing too. So can we put our little envy party aside once and for all? We'd sound great together on a track for either your next album or mine." She nods in agreement. "Damn straight." And there ends the jealousy the two of you had for another.
