Imagine Sherlock comforting you
Imagine Sherlock comforting you
You ran into the flat, throwing yourself down onto the sofa in heaps of tears, breaking down finally into uncontrollable tears. You didn't know where to go, but you could never be safe, not from him. You ran to the only place you knew, away from the burning wreckage of your once home, to your longest friend, the only man who could protect you. As always, the front door had been left open so you'd ran inside, not even bothering to check if anyone was home. Several minutes had gone by, which felt like years, as you'd laid there on the sofa, your face buried into the leather as you spilled out your heart. "Would you like some tea?", a familiar voice asked, a little uncertainly. You immediately sat up, startled, looking over at the desk to where they sat behind the laptop, watching you with a confused expression. "W-what? H-how long have you been sat there?", you stuttered trying to calm yourself down between broken sobs, brushing tears out of your eyes. "Tea. It's a customary drink to offer people, particularly when distressed, as it calms the nervous system as well as offering comfort. I'm asking if you want one. And answer to your question, 73 hours and 18 minutes, why?". Only Sherlock would reply an answer with a question, his sharp cheeks and pale skin making him look ghostlike in the light off the screen, his black curls untamed and messy. Usually you'd laugh at his awkwardness, but you broke down crying again, curling up on the sofa burying your face into a pillow as Sherlocks puzzled look deepened. He stood up and came over, sitting down cautiously beside you, biting his lip, unsure what to do. "Mrs Hudson?", he shouted down as his brain struggled to come up with anything. "Yes, what is it Sherlock?", she chuckled peeping her head inside at the unfortunate sight. "What do I do?", he quietly asked her, his voice wavering as he looked down at you. "Comfort her Sherlock, she needs you. Tell you what, I'll go make some tea", she chimed, and was gone before Sherlock even had chance to object. "Y/N", he said gently, as he carefully placed his hand on your shoulder, looking down at you, his eyes scanning every detail. "Go away", you croaked, trying to shrug him off but he kept his hand on you. "I can't do that. This is my flat , technically you are the one who's breaking and entering-". "You left the front door unlocked again". He froze, his brain in mid thought, which made you chuckle, his mouth hanging slightly agape. "I meant to do that", Sherlock muttered, tapping your shoulder as you sat up to look at him. You saw his eyes flicker all over you in a second, reading you, judging you, trying to piece things together, until his eyes finally settled on yours. "I will find him. I promise. I will never let him hurt you Y/N", he said gently, his hand resting on your shoulder. You threw your arms around him, burying yourself into his shirt as he embraced you. "H-he l-lied to me", you choked trying to hold back tears. "I know, but you're with me now", Sherlock said, his head resting on top of yours, as he leant down and kissed your forehead. You immediately looked up at him a little surprised, he'd never kissed you before. "I'm sorry, I thought I was suppose to do that. I could try the other option I had if you like?", he said a little unsure. "And what's that?", you said to him. He smiled, and then leant down and pecked you a kiss on the lips. You sat there stunned, before he did it again, this time holding it for longer, and you didn't object. "Oh how sweet, young love", Mrs Hudson chirped as she came bustling into the room carrying tea. "OUT!", both you and Sherlock shout, both point towards the door not daring to part the distance between you. "Young people these days", she tutted as she stormed out of the room, causing both you and Sherlock to fall into pleats of laughter once she's gone. "I will protect you Y/N, you have my word", Sherlock said before you crashed your lips onto his, not wanting to hold back any longer.
