where is she? (thomas)

**warning: I haven't read the scorch trials :(**

Thomas' POV

We did it. We escaped the maze.

I had my arm tightly wrapped around Y/n in the helicopter, not planning on letting her go anytime soon. She looked up at me, before cuddling into my side.

We had eventually landed, the armored men helping us out of the helicopter. The large door on the front of the building opened up, revealing more men, but with guns strapped to their chests.

I was more anxious now, walking towards the building. One of the much larger men walked straight up to me and y/n.

He caught me off guard, shoving me away from y/n and picking her up.

"Hey!" I shouted, scrambling up to my feet. I lunged at him, trying to get y/n out of his grasp. The rest of the gladers had joined in, fighting the other guards that had surrounded us.

"Let her go!" I yelled, kicking and punching. Anything to get y/n.

I felt armor grab me from behind, pulling me away from him. I struggled, but getting out from his arms was no use.

"Thomas!" Y/n cried as the man carried her towards a smaller building to the left.

"Y/n!" I screamed, kicking even harder. I felt one of his arms leave only to bash the back of my head with the end of his gun.

I collapsed, my vision blurring out. And the next thing I know, I'm unconscious.

~ later~

I jolt awake, laying in a bed and in different clothes. What happened?

  Y/n.

I look around the room and the rest of the gladers ended like me. In a bed with a new set of clothes.

"Hey." I whispered, standing up. Newts bed was next to mine and I shook it, startling him awake.

He mumbled as he sat up, taking in his surroundings.

"Where are we?" He whispered. I shrugged.

"Boys, wake up." Newt slightly spoke, but enough to wake them up. They started sitting up, looking just as confused as the one before.

I walked around the room, mostly towards the metal door. I tried the handle and it clicked, opening the door with ease.

"Why would they put us here with an unlocked door?" Minho asked. I continued out the door, entering a hallway with bright lights.

Every now and then, a window would be on a wall, revealing a shade that was blocking us from seeing what was inside.

Until one window appeared with out a shade. I looked in, seeing a metal table and some pictures on a board. I looked closer, trying to get a good look at them.

One showed a girl, much like the others but this one was y/n.

I could barely see all the wires they had connected to her arm and neck.

I let out a shaky sigh before continuing on.

We have to find her.

At the end of the hall, was a big concrete door. With no handle attached, I assumed it slid open.

"Thomas, what now? It's not like we have a password for this thing."  Newt said, putting a hand on my shoulder.

And just like that, the door slid towards the ceiling, opening itself.

But behind the door showed people in lab coats, clipboards and other things.

"Ah, Thomas. Boys. Glad you're all up. Would you mind following us?" One woman spoke.

"Where is she?" I spat. These people work here, they took her away.

"Sorry I don't know who you're-"

"The girl. Y/n. Where did you take her?" I interrupted. She looked a bit taken back by my outburst but quickly recomposed herself.

"Oh. Her." She said before looking down at the papers in her hand. "She's been moved to a different building. Currently being tested on."

What made that sentence worse was how nonchalant she was. As if she was talking about something that didn't matter.

"Tested for what?" Minho spoke up. She rolled her eyes at our persistence.

"Nothing of your concern. Now follow us, and nothing has to go wrong." She said, her teeth clenched as she spoke.

I stood my ground until Newt appeared beside me. He gave me a look before speaking.

"The more we know about what's happening to us, the more we'll know on how to find her."

I sighed, following Newt out. We walked behind them, towards another room with a metal table and a board.

They made us all sit down and handed us all files with our names on it. The woman began to talk but I was too engrossed in my file.

Everything on the first page was just things like my age, blood type, and height.

I turned to the page behind it to reveal pictures of us in the maze.

I knew they put us in here but why take pictures.

Every single one of these pictures had one other person in them.

  Y/n.

Things like us walking around, sleeping, talking under the tree, even kissing. Seeing all these memories hurt, knowing she was is some other building having who knows what being done to her.

"And.. Thomas?" I heard the woman's voice echo. My head shot up from my file, looking at her standing at the other end of the table.

"Your girl, y/n. She's a special one. Not only is she immune to The Flare-" she stopped.

  "She's immune to everything."

She smiled at my confused expression.

"You see, before putting you all in the first trial, we had you all tested.
Putting you in a group we knew could work together to survive in such conditions. Y/n, however, was the one test we couldn't explain."

"Any sickness you can think of, doesn't affect her in the slightest. Chicken pox, the common cold, pneumonia, even something as large as cancer. Nothing. Not even the sting would effect her. But in order to test this, we put her in with you. To test her true 'immunity'."

We wore the same expression. Shocked. Confused. Everything? She was immune to.

"Why take her back to test now when you already did before the maze?" Newt spoke for me.

She gave us a sickly grin.

"Oh. Sorry, we're not testing her this time."

I egged her on, leaning in.

  "We're taking her blood."

A shiver ran down my body. No. I wasn't going to let them do it. I won't.

"This, Thomas, is necessary. One girl could cure anybody of anything. And you're letting something as pesky as 'love' stop that?" She sneered, slamming her hands on the table.

"You've got a sample from the first test. Just use that." I spat, standing up from my chair. Guards that were leaning on the wall immediately stood up, aiming.

"We could." She said. "But this is more exciting."

My body almost dropped from her sentence. They have what they want and they're killing her anyway.

They all exited the room except for two guards, closing the door behind them. They all looked to me as I thought of a plan. If we were going to save her, we couldn't go out unarmed.

I gave them a quick nod.

"Can you take us back to our room." I said, looking to one guard. He said nothing only walked in sync with the other guard to open the door. I waved my hand, ushering the boys towards them.

With both the guards turned away from us, we gathered behind them ready to jump.

"Now!" I yelled, knocking a guard into the wall. He crumpled to the ground, dropping his gun. I quickly grabbed it, aiming it at him. He froze in place.

I quickly turned my head, seeing Newt with the other guards gun.

"Where is she?" I said, turning back to the guard on the ground.

He kept his mouth shut, looking at me straight in the eyes.

"Where is she?!" I yelled, shooting his foot. He let out a groan, before taking deep breaths.

  "B-building B." His voice shaking.

"You better hope you're telling the truth." I said, before walking out. The door had opened, showing us an empty hallway.

I quickly walked the other way, looking around the corner.

I turned my head back to the boys who had followed.

"There's a sign at the end. It'll tell us where B is." I breathed out, before looking one more time.

I ran out from the corner, towards the board on the wall.

I stumbled up to it, reading the multi-colored arrows.

I remembered the way to building B, just like a path I'd take in the maze.

It was only a left and a right turn, then through the side door that showed building B.

"Alright. Let's go." I said before running down the hallway. I took a left, ran down a hallway, took a right then ran down the hallway.

I saw the door, only guarded by two men.

We stayed behind the corner and I looked at Newt. He nodded, walking to stand next to me.

"3." I whispered, looking at Newt.

  "2." Looking at the door.

"1." Aiming my gun.

Me and Newt both uncovered from the corner, shooting both the men. They groaned, falling to the floor.

We ran up to them, Minho and another glader grabbing the guns this time.

I kicked open the door, opening to outside. I could see the small building from here, a blue-ish light glowing through the window.

I ran across the sand, propping my gun up. The gladers trailed behind me.

I reached the door, seeing the padlock on the handle. I shot it, breaking the lock off the door. I burst in the room, letting out a sigh of relief no one was in here.

I looked around seeing chairs placed in a circle around a cylinder in the middle. There was a curtain over it, the blue light glowing from the bottom of it.

Around the room and on the walls, was technology and flashing buttons.

I slowly walked over to the cylinder in the middle, pushing chair out of the way. My hand reached out to the curtain, gripping it before ripping it off.

There she was.

Floating in water, I assume, her eyes closed, only wearing her underwear.

Not that it would be a problem right now, the only thing to worry about was getting her out.

"Oh my god." A glader blurted out. They all surrounded it, looking for a way to get her out.

Newt walked over to the panel, before looking back at me.

"We need a password." He sighed.

I let out a breath, putting my hands through my hair.

I was looking at the ground, near the bottom of the cylinder. I narrowed my eyes, crouching down.

I knocked on it, feeling the glass against my knuckles.

"It's just glass." I whispered. I stood up quickly, looking at Minho.

"It's glass. We can just break it." I hurried. Minho gave me the same look Newt did.

"Thomas- we don't even know if she's.." He trailed off, not wanting to say it. I shook my head.

"No. No, she's alive. I know it. Help me. Shoot the bottom of it with me." I quickly said, backing up to aim.

The glader with a gun joined me, looking at one another. Did they really think she's dead?

We all shot the bottom once, the glass cracking, water spilling out of the bottom. The rest cracked, breaking and falling to the ground.

Y/n dropped to the platform of the  cylinder, curled up. I dropped the gun, rushing to her, I picked her up in my arms, cradling her head in my elbow.

"C'mon y/n. I know you're there. Wake up." I whispered, tears falling from my face as the seconds passed. Her body not moving at all, just limp in my arms.

"I'm sorry." Newt whispered from behind me, gripping my shoulder.

All I did was shake my head, over and over.

"You're not dead. You're not dead, okay. You're here. You're ok. I've got you now." I whispered to her, in hopes she'd somewhat hear it and wake up.

My hand was shaking as I moved the wet hair from her face. Tears from my eyes fell, disguising themselves like the water from the cylinder.

"I'm sorry." I finally said, putting my hand on her cheek.

"Maybe if I'd just gotten here quicker-"

Her body started confulsing in my arms, shaking. My eyes shot open as I tried to keep her in my arms.

Her eyes opened, before she began coughing and heaving. When nothing but water came out, she finally calmed down, taking deep breaths.

She looked up at me before giving a weak smile. "Thomas." She whispered.

A smile broke on my own face, as she became more and more awake.

She sat up on her own and the first thing I did was throw my arms around her, pulling her to me.

Her wrapping her arms around me gave me all the conformation that this was real. She was alive.

"I love you." I said into her hair. She nodded, digging her face into my neck more.

"I'm never letting you go again."
