slow kids at play

**warning: they make-out. alot. **

Y/n's POV

Tonight, me and my friend were going out. He had decided that after our whole week of exams, we deserved a reward.
I was in my dorm, getting ready for the night out. My hair in messy curls and my favorite black dress already on.

It's been awhile since I've been out. College had obviously consumed whatever extra time I'd ever had.
The knock on my door startled my thoughts. I went and answered to door, showing my friend Tyler.

"Wow. Those guys won't know what hit 'em when you walk in." He said, wiggling his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes and closed the door behind me.
We headed off to the bar down the road, and on the way there I noticed various lamp posts with the same flyer for a band. "Slow Kids At Play". They sounded... interesting?

We made it to the building and Tyler opened the door for me. I giggled and curtsied. He rolled his eyes, laughing and walking in behind me.
The smell of alcohol hit me like a bus. Not necessarily badly but, it was quite strong. I could already see the multiple drunks stumbling around for their next sloppy make-out.

My eyes met with the bar stage, where a band, no doubt the one from the flyers, was setting up. Six guys tuning instruments, moving equipment, and probably preparing for the performance.
One member caught my eye. The guy sitting behind the drum set. His hair gelled up in the front, his flannel hugging his perfectly sculpted chest and arms.
His tongue was stuck between his lips as he concentrated on his drums. Of course, the rest of his face was equal in hotness to his body.

I felt a shoulder suddenly nudge my body. I looked up at Tyler and he smirked.
"So you're into drummers?"
It was my turn to roll my eyes.

"Who said I was into him?" I retorted.

"Only your whole face. The obvious 'omg he's like so hot' face." He said.
I sighed.
"Whatever. It's not like I could even get him to talk to me." I said, sighing.

"Why?" Tyler stated, totally confused.

"Tyler. I know your not gay, but look at the guy! He's kinda the definition of amazing." I exclaimed, motioning towards the drummer.

Tyler groaned and threw his head back. "Y/n, tonight is one of the rare nights that I get to see you in a dress. A sexy dress, at that. And, putting this lightly, I'm 99.99% sure every guy in here wants to bang you."

My mouth dropped and I let out a breathy laugh. "Really?"

He nodded. "Oh yeah. Especially the drummer."

What? I looked to the drummer and, sure enough, he was looking at me. He gave me a slight smirk before he returned back to his drums.
I turned back to Tyler and crossed my arms.

"So, should I go for it?"

"Mr. Amazing is waiting." He dramatically called.

••••••••••••••

I'd gotten my first drink just as the band had started. As soon as I turned around, one of the band members began to speak into the mic.
"Hey everyone. We're 'Slow Kids At Play' and this is 'Bonfire'."

It'd already been the first song and I'd already loved them. The hot drummer might have been a factor but they were good anyways.

••••••••••••••

The band had continued to play multiple songs until they called for a, probably much needed, break. I watched as they hopped off stage, not before telling everyone to have a goodnight, and herded to the bar. The drummer had taken a seat next to the band, casually adding conversation.

I just finished my third drink and although I wasn't drunk, I couldn't say I wasn't giggly. I put the glass down and begin to search for Tyler on how to approach the fine drummer.

"Looking for me?" A voice said.

"Oh! Tyler thank god-" I started as I turned around, only to come face to face with a stranger. One that obviously reeked of loads of vodka by the way.

"Oh I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else." I said, nervously. The man grabbed my hip and put one hand on my back, leaving me trapped.

"I could be anyone you want tonight baby. Just tell me." He slurred into my hair. I squirmed and continued trying to push away, this only causing the man to grip harder on my hip, for sure leaving bruises I'd see tomorrow.

"Let go." I grunted, struggling even harder now. I repeated this over and over, when suddenly the man began to move, dragging me away with him. I squeezed my eyes closed until the man abruptly stopped.

"Get out of my way." He angrily grunted. I couldn't see the person blocking him, but I was happy they were there.

"I think she said let go. I suggest to do it before I make you."

"As if kid. Now move befo-" The man was cut off by a forceful punch to the face. I let out a shriek and as he began to fall backwards, taking him with me, the other guy pulled me out of his grasp and pulled me close to his chest. I moved as close as I could into his chest, feeling his muscles on the side of my face.

Soon, I stepped away, my breaths now long and dragged. I looked up to my savior and noticed it was the drummer.

"Are you alright? He didn't hurt you did he?" He asked me, taking a full body examination. I let out a sigh of relief.

"I am now. Thank you so much..." I trailed off, asking for his name. His eyes widened.

"Oh! Uh- Dylan. It's Dylan. And you?" He said, gesturing.

"Y/n." I smiled.

"That's a beautiful name." He winked. I blushed.

"Nice drumming skills by the way. You're really good up there." I nodded towards the stage. He smiled.

"Really? Thanks, I uh, usually feel like I look like an idiot up there." He explained, giving a short laugh at the end. I shook my head.

"No, definitely not. I bet you'll have all these girls by tonight." I smirked.

"Ha, no. I was actually only hoping for one." He said, staring at me. I raised my eyebrow, slightly smiling.

" I didn't know you were so smooth." I joked, stepping closer. He put a lop-sided grin on his face that I swear, could've made me do anything.

"If only it were true." He laughed. I smiled, stepping even closer now. I could look up into his eyes, his lips only and inch from mine. His eyes flicked from mine to my lips, obviously asking. I bit my lip and nodded and as soon as I did, his lips were on mine. His hands immediately went to my neck and hair as mine did the same. Between this time, Dylan had managed to direct us to a wall, where he had me pressed up against. This was no doubt the best make-out ever. His tongue was exploring around mine, eliciting moans from me. My body had attempted to press itself against his, receiving the same reaction from him.

We'd broken up for air multiple times before going straight back to each others lips, hungrily gripping at each others clothes. Dylan's hands had found their way up my shirt, grabbing at my chest.

He slightly broke apart, speaking in between kisses.

"There's-"

"-a band room-"

"-with a-"

"-couch." His heavy breaths carrying out his words. We continued to kiss.

"Can you do this and walk?" I asked, my words coming out on his lips. He opened his eyes and smirked before his put his hands under my thighs and began carrying me as he walked. He kept his lips on mine, not even slightly messing up as he was walking. He stopped before I reached behind myself and turned the knob, pushing the door open.

"I can do much more."
