i think theres somone in the house... (dylan)
**warning: cursing**
Y/N POV
It was around 10:30 that I'd decided to go to bed. I'd been going to bed a bit later, avoiding the empty left side. Dylan had been gone for Maze Runner filming so I'd been in the house alone for around 5 months now. Yes, we occasionally skyped but with his schedule, it was rare we actually did.
I slipped under the comforter, pulling it up to my chin. It usually took me about an hour to fall asleep ever since Dylan left. He'd usually be here rubbing circles on my shoulder as he held me, making me fall asleep instantly.
I was turning over when I heard a door smash open. My body went stiff and I suddenly got nervous.
That was the front door.
I started sweating when I heard two men talking, rushing through things downstairs. I quietly got out of bed, grabbed my phone, and locked myself in the bedroom closet.
I softly dialed 9-1-1 and waited for the woman to speak.
"You've called 9-1-1, state your emergency." She said in a routine voice. Words barely escaped my mouth, not wanting the intruders to hear me.
"I think there's someone in the house..." I whispered. I pulled my knees to my chest, curling further and further into the corner of the closet.
"Okay ma'am. I'm going to need an address and help will be on their way."
I gave her the address and she asked if she needed to stay on the line. I answered no and hung up.
Waiting was the worst part. Especially when I could hear them smashing things, stomping around the house. What if they finished downstairs and decided to come up here? What if they walked in here and found me? Tears silently fell and I covered my mouth, refusing to let any noise escape.
I checked my phone and when it really was 20 minutes, it felt like 20 hours. I started to cry even harder when they walked up the stairs.
I finally heard the wail of sirens, the men's feet stopping.
"Oh shit! The cops!" One said, before they both barreled down the stairs. I heard multiple car doors slamming, cops yelling. I stayed in the closet, shaking and not able to get up.
More stomping up the stairs, I heard footsteps enter the bedroom.
"Ma'am. Ma'am?" I heard a cop say, walking into the bedroom. The closet door eventually opened, revealing the cop. He spoke into his earpiece.
He helped me up and out of the closet, escorting me out of the house. He kept trying to ask me questions, like if I saw them or was my door locked. My mouth was frozen, just like my body.
We walked out the ruined front door and towards the multiple cop cars. They had already set up tape, some cops guarding off the paps that had shown up.
I guess when Dylan O'Briens house gets robbed, they had to be here.
I could see the occasionally flash of a camera, capturing my, probably, horrific appearance.
I probably wouldn't have to tell Dylan, he'd hear from some news channel in two minutes.
"Ma'am, we're gonna have you answer some questions. Can you do that for us?" I heard. I simply nodded, not looking at them.
"Do you know why these men would enter your house?" He asked. I shook my head.
"Did you see the faces of these men?" He continued. I shook my head.
"Ok miss? Do you have anyone to stay with?" He asked. I shook my head.
Dylan had been out here anyways, so I moved in with him. Any family of mine was states away. I could fly to Dylan and stay with him.
"No one?" He confirmed. I finally raised my head to speak.
"M-my boyfriend." I mumbled. He nodded.
"Could you get him on the phone and set up an arrangement? Or do I need to?" He offered. I shook my head, pulling out my phone.
11 missed calls from: Dyl
So he already knew.
I tapped his number and put the phone up to my ear. It rang once before he picked up.
"Y/n! Oh my god, thank god you picked up." He rushed into the phone. It made me smile at how worried he was.
"Yeah. I'm okay." I whispered. Well, physically I was.
"Are you? I'd be pretty shaken up." He added, slightly laughing.
"Uh- n... Not really. Is there anyway I could fly up there with you? I- I just can't stay alone." I said, softy crying.
"Y/n, you don't even have to ask. Do you wanna come tomorrow morn-"
"Tonight." I quickly interrupted. I wanted to be with him as soon as possible.
"Okay. I'll book it, you just head to the airport. I'll see you soon, okay?" He soothed. I let out a deep breath.
"Okay."
"I love you." He added. I smiled.
"I love you too."
We hung up and the officer looked at me.
"I can get you there with a police escort if you'd like?" He smiled. I nodded.
"Thank you." I said, opening the cop car door.
"Anything for young love."
He hopped in the drivers seat and sped off, breaking the limit completely.
We made it there in 3 minutes flat, a usually 10 minute drive.
He led me to the front desk where I got the ticket that Dylan had booked. I thanked the officer before boarding my plane.
It took about 5 minutes to take off and it was a 3 hour plane ride, making it around 2 in the morning.
I didn't have anything so I simply walked off the plane, into the waiting area. I nervously crossed my arms and searched for the person who'd take me to Dylan.
I couldn't see anybody with a sign. Not even with Dylan's name. Then how would I get to Dylan? It's not like I knew where he was staying.
"Y/n!" I heard a far off yell. My eyebrows cinched.
Who-?
I turned to see Dylan, clad in gray sweatpants and a navy tshirt. His long hair was messy, yet still attractive. He looked relieved as he began jogging to me. I started speed walking to him, pushing past people.
His smile got bigger as we got closer, until it was almost too big.
We finally reached each other, his arms wrapping around me. I hugged his torso, breathing in his familiar scent.
He lifted one hand to smooth out the back of my hair.
"It's ok. You're okay. You're here. Everything's gonna be okay." He whispered. I slowly nodded against his chest.
