i'll always be here (thomas)

**warning: cute**

Y/N POV

I woke up, feeling the itch fabric of the hammock. I attempted to roll out but the side of my hammock prevented me.

I suddenly felt the hammock being picked up, wrapping me in it.    I let out a scream, struggling against the fabric. I could hear the grunts of gladers trying to keep hold of me. I kept trying to scream louder, my lungs only allowing me to scream so loud.

"Hurry up! They'll be up soon!" I heard one say.

"By her screams, they probably already are! Dump her in!" The other groaned.

I felt them release the bag, but grabbing me out of it. One held me as the other put a cloth over my mouth and tying it at the back of my head, and one on my wrists.

They struggled to pick me up, as I was thrashing my legs and arms. But when they finally held me, they tossed me into the box and locking it closed.

  Great.

I couldn't scream to let the others gladers know I was here. I couldn't hit the box, seeing as it was too tall. I began to sob, the tears absorbing into the cloth.

"Where is she?!" I heard Thomas scream. My eyes bulged as I stood up, trying to scream through the cloth. Nothing. I could barely hear it.

"She can't just walk out of here!" Thomas letting screaming. My heart wrenched. My boyfriend was up there, looking for me and he wouldn't find me until days later.

"We'll find her, ok?" I heard Newt soothe. The only accent in the entire glade, obviously.

"She wouldn't just walk off or into the maze. She's not that shucking stupid." I heard Minho say.

"What if something happened? What if someone was stung and killed her?" Thomas began to freak out.

He was almost there. I wasn't dead though.

"You won't find her." I heard the same voice from earlier this morning.

"What? What do you mean." I heard Thomas, his voice shaking.

I didn't hear anything until the sound of a body hitting the ground shook the box.

"TELL ME." Thomas shouted. He must've shoved him.

"You won't find her. I told you already."

   "You sonofa-"

"Hey! I'll get Alby. Did you forget the rules, shank? Never. Harm. Another. Glader." I heard Minho.

Maybe half an hour later, I heard Alby had joined the conversation.

  "What is it?"

"This shank says we won't find her. He knows where she is. Did somethin to her." Newt clarified, being second in command and all.

"Look, we've lost enough gladers around here. And you're going to get rid of the only girl? Are you asking for banishment?" Alby sighed.

That night I slept in the box. Then I woke up in the box. And I was probably going to die in the box.

Occasionally a glader passed by, talking about how they held a meeting. How they tried to get information out of the guy. How Thomas almost beat him to death.

It's begun to rain and all I can do is sit in it. The bottom of the box had began to collect water, my shoes swishing with water.

I'd cried a total of 3 times. As pathetic as it sounds. My jaw was sore from this cloth, my throat sore from screaming.

I plopped down, the puddle making a huge splash noise. Yeah that's how much it's been raining.

I begin to flip my feet in the water, bored out of my mind when I hear voices.

  "Do you hear that?"

  "What is it?"

  "Water? Like, splashing."

"Did we forget an animal in the box?"

I heard foot steps in the wet mud, my hope growing. My mindless splashing had just saved me.

Two gladers appeared at the top, their eyes widening.

  "Holy shuck."

  "Help me get her out!"

They opened the top, jumping down to grab me. They took off the cloth and the ropes around my wrists. I wrapped my arms around them, my entire body tired and sore.

   "Thank you." I croaked out.

They climbed up, pulling me with them.

"We got her! We found y/n!" They screamed. They let me lean on them, helping me limp around.

I lifted my head to see a swarm run towards me. Thomas, being in the maze right now was not here.

"Y/n! Thomas will be glad to see you standing." Newt smirked, before taking me from the gladers.

All the gladers were boasting, telling me how everyone, even Gally, had been helping in the search for me. Telling me how Thomas was the most anxiety ridden person they'd ever seen.

"Hey! Thomas, look!" A glader yelled. I turned to the maze doors, seeing Thomas enter the glade. He squinted at me, recognition flooding his face.

He broke into a sprint, adrenalin probably pumping since he's been running all day. As he got closer and closer, Newt let me limp towards him. Thomas opened his arms and when he reached me, he pulled me closer than we've ever been. I heard soft cries and felt his chest move up and down in choppy breaths.

I wrapped my arms around him, joining his crying. He dug his face into my neck, giving sweet kisses here and there. I squeezed him tiredly.

"Oh god-" he started. "I thought they killed you." My heart dropped.

I don't think I would've held up as strong as he did. If I'd even thought about it, I would've been broke .

"No. No, I'm here. I'm alive. I'm okay." I soothed.

We eventually pulled apart and I looked in his eyes. Bags drooped under his eyes, his cheeks red.

"I'm here now. Just as long as you don't leave, we'll be okay." I said, putting my palm on his cheek. He leaned in.

"I'll always be here." And he kissed me. His lips moved against mine, going slowly. Gladers groaned and began to walk away but we never stopped.

Thomas was still holding me, still kissing me like it was the last kiss we were ever going to have.

"Now you are definitely sleeping next to me." He mumbled against my lips. I giggled, nodding, and the continued.
