dylan AU: baseball
**extreme warning: I'm not AMAZING at describing baseball**
Y/N POV
It was 4:30 on a Saturday, that Dylan was out playing baseball.
It was also in the middle of a huge storm with gallons upon gallons of rain.
I huffed as I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to access any body heat. Anything to warm me up in this 30 degree rainy weather.
I watched as Dylan stepped up to the plate for the final moments of the game. This was it. All the pushing through, all the raining, everything- as he stepped up for the final hit.
He tipped up his cap, searching the crowd. His eyes laid on me, and I saw a slight wink. The same thing he did before every hit for "good luck" he told me.
I anxiously watched as the pitcher, pulled back and sent the ball. Dylan swung for it, only for it to whisk past him. I winced, letting out a sigh.
"Come on, Dyl..." I whispered, as if he could hear me.
The ball was given back to the pitcher and he prepared again, letting Dylan tap his bat to the plate before he got to position.
The pitcher threw once again, making Dylan swing again, only for it to settle straight into the catcher's mitt. I groaned, my teeth chattering as I let out the noise.
I would go and sit in the car, but this game meant a lot to Dylan. This was the qualifying game. So, it meant a lot to me too.
The pitcher had the ball for the final strike, making me on the edge of my seat. He leaned back, along with his arm, before throwing it forward to the plate.
Before my eyes even reached Dylan, I heard a loud crack, and my sight caught a blur flying through the sky, right to the fence.
I cheered loudly, standing up and throwing up my hands. I still nervously watched as Dylan hit first base, then second-
He continued to third, but stopped. The opposite team had the ball and was making passes like crazy trying to get it back in-field.
Dylan shot off again, sprinting with all his life to home base. It began raining harder, but I didn't even care anymore.
A baseman had the ball, and sent it to the man at home base. Dylan was feet away from home base, before he went down and slid, his foot crashing into home base.
And seconds after, the man at base had the ball, but it was too late.
We had already won.
I jumped up and screamed, cheering Dylan's name just like the rest of the crowd. Chanting his name.
His team ran from the dug out, throwing him on their shoulders. Dylan had the biggest grin on his face, looking straight at me.
I decided to get out of these metal bleachers and to Dylan. As soon as I ran on to the field, the entire stand followed.
I ran through the puddles, heading straight to Dylan.
He patted his teams shoulders, telling them to set him down. Dylan grinned as he ran to me, meeting me in the middle with a big, wet hug.
"You did it, Dyl." I laughed, squeezing him. He picked me up and spun me around, making me erupt in giggles.
"I couldn't have done it without my good luck." He chuckled, backing up to face me. I couldn't stop smiling, so proud.
"You know, I think I love you even more after this." He smiled.
"What? Why?" I asked, tilting my head.
"You could've waited to see me after the game, you could've gone inside. But you stayed, in this god awful weather- just to watch me play." He stared at me with awe.
I smiled and leaned up, pecking his lips.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world."
He just smiled more, before smashing his lips to mine. The rain made our lips move even smoother. His hands were clasped on my cheeks, holding me to him.
"God, don't ever leave me." He mumbled, kissing me harder.
"I wouldn't dream of it." I smirked, immediately moving my lips again.
