Shawn's P.O.V

Walking down the red carpet with Y/N beside me I couldn't help but think back to the Met Gala I had gone to with Hailey by my side.

Of course she was married to Justin now but I couldn't help but compare her to Y/N, and I know I shouldn't have.

"Can I tell you something?" I asked her once we were away from all the cameras.

"yeah!" Y/N smiled over at me

"I know I shouldn't but I can't help but wish that you walked like Hailey back there on the carpet"

"w-what?" she looked up at me and took a step back. "did you just compare me to your ex?" he face was shocked.

"i'm sorry Y/N" I shook my head. "It's just the way she walked we were a real power couple on that carpet back in 2018"

"Shawn! what the hell!" Y/N whisper yelled at me as to not cause a scene.

"i'm sorry baby but it's true, you are always telling me that the truth is better then lying right?" I looked at her.

"well not when it comes to my feelings it's not. I hope you feel like you've out done yourself"

Watching as she turned and walked away towards the ladies room I sighed. I really messed up big time.

"Hey pal where's Y/N?" Andrew came up next to me.

"she's uh" I cleared my throat. "she's just in the bathroom" I wiped my eyes a little and leaned back against the wall.

"What happened?" Andrew looked at me.

"I screwed up" I sighed. "I compared her to Hailey, I couldn't stop myself the words just came out" I felt the tears spring to my eyes again.

Looking up I saw Y/N coming back her face a little red. She just walked up to me and hugged me. Wrapping my arms around her I set my chin on the top of her head.

"i'm sorry baby" I sighed and rocked us gently back and forth.

"it's going to take me a bit to forgive you but for now we're all good" she looked up at me.

Leaning down so our lips gently connected and we pulled apart. Heading into the hall we sat down at our table and waited for our food to come.
