The warm, tingly feeling in your stomach never went away whenever he was by your side. It was perfect, both of you knew each other like the backs of your hands. Fit together perfectly like puzzle pieces, always intertwined and always together.
Everyone labelled you both the same: picture perfect. Something everyone wanted, yet was hard to find.
Ben is perfect to you. Always there for you and never too far. There's where the problem lies.
Everyone thinks your relationship is perfect. Before the cameras and faces, it seems as though there are no problems. But look closer, and there are cracks between the smiles.
You and Ben were struggling, communication was rocky. He was too perfect. Didn't seem like the type to ever make a mistake. Your guard was down by the amount of trust you put into him. He never pushed your buttons, but didn't open up about anything regarding past relationships.
He kept you away from his family, and you had only met a handful of his friends. He was open to you about the good and bad things, but never about history. It's as if there was something he wanted to keep from you, something he never wanted anyone to find out about.
You never doubted him, not for a second. Your friends approved, your family welcomed him with open arms, everything was perfect and in order.
He was your first love, but sadly, you weren't his.
( 12 hours prior )
"Babe! We have to go! Mark is waiting for us at the bar!" you yelled out as you heard shuffling from the hallway, Ben appearing at your shared bedroom doorway.
"I'm ready love, just waiting for you." he smiled through the mirror, as you locked eye contact, "Gorgeous."
Blushing, you looked away, putting your makeup and slipped your heels on. Turning around, you grabbed your purse and slipped your hand in Ben's, fingers intertwining.
"Let's go."

'Y con los ojos cerrados te seguí, si yo busqué dolor lo conseguí.'

Walking into the bar, you looked around, Ben trailing behind, fingers gripping yours as he looked around, before locking eye contact with an old friend of yours, pulling on your hand.
"Mark!" you yelled out as he smiled wide, getting up from the stool and opening his arms wide for a hug.
You walked over, careful with your heels as you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him close and smiling as he squeezed you tighter.
"Y/n! How've you been?"
"Good! I've missed you! How's you and Alice?" you asked, smile on your face as you parted and he brought Ben in for a hug, all of you sitting down at the table.
"Well, we're not together anymore. She cheated on me." a gasp escaped your lips as Ben looked down, anger pooling in his eyes as he clicked his tongue. "I saw it coming. She wasn't talking to me anymore, she was distant. I saw her hide her phone one day when I walked in after showering."
"You okay, man?" Ben asked him as Mark just nodded.
"I have you guys, and liquid courage, I'll be fine." Mark tipped his shot glass back as you furrowed your eyebrows.
"Kuya, you're not usually a drinker." you said, confusion spreading across your features as he laughed.
"Bunso, you know how I get when I'm like this. There's no stopping me until I'm at least a little tipsy." Ben laughed at Mark's comment, as you nodded with a smile.
"Alright, who wants more drinks?" Ben asked as both of you cheered. Raising his hand, he waived a bartender, ordering drinks as you all started making conversation with each other.
Four drinks later and you were all tipsy, Mark giggling away at something he overheard from another table as you showed him a picture that reminded you of him. Ben was watching you both, lopsided smile as he noticed the friendship he had been missing, blossom between the two.
"Baby!" you turned to him with a smile as he nodded, leaning his chin on his palm, "Guess what?"
"Yes, baby?"
"I love you." you said, the alcohol slowly consuming your words as you giggled at your confession.
Your tipsy state didn't realize the expression that fell from his face, his chin almost falling from the palm of his hand as your words rung through his ears. He was about to ask you something, when he noticed you going back to talking to Mark.
Your mind had immediately forgotten what you had said, the alcohol fogging your mind as you kept giggling with Mark, as you played with the shot glasses on the table while making conversation.
Three hours later, you and Mark were gone, taken over by alcohol as you both reminisced the memories when you were in high school.
"R-remember w-when you-u and P-peter completely trashed-d Mr. Friar's office-e only to look for your skateboard?" you giggled, slurring through your words as Mark giggled uncontrollably, nodding along.
"Y-you were o-our lookout!"
Nodding, you laughed, before turning and noticing Ben gone, a note next to you on the table.
"O-oh, he left. Went home." you read out, as Mark nodded, before yawning.
"W-we should h-head home."
You nodded, as he ordered an Uber for both of you, the location to his house. Even while drunk, Mark still made sure to take care of you. Heading over to his house, he slipped an arm under your arms and slipped off your heels, helping you walk inside and safely positioning you on the couch. You slipped out of consciousness, falling asleep and waking up in the morning, a blanket over your body and a migraine pumping through your head.
( No eres la persona que pensé )
"Morning Bunso." looking up, you groaned at the sight of your best friend standing before you, dropping your head back on the couch cushions.
"Kuya," he kneeled before you, pushing the hair from your eyes. "What happened last night?"
"We drank too much. Ben left us at the bar so I got us an Uber home."
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion at hearing the words slipping from his lips. "Ben left us?"
He nodded, as he helped you up from the couch, giving you painkillers and a cup of water. You took them, as you realized you were still wearing the same thing as last night. Your jeans were constricting as your blouse reeked with alcohol.
"Here." he handed you a pile of your clothes, as you graciously took them and walked over to the bathroom, changing and washing your makeup off.
( Voy de nuevo recordando lo que soy, sabiendo lo que das y lo que doy, en mí no queda espacio para ti )
"Kuya, where's your mouthwash?"
"Underneath the kitchen cabinet." he said, as you reached underneath, grabbing the bottle and getting a small cup to remove the stench of alcohol from the night before.
Walking out of the room, you headed to the kitchen, grabbing the mug of coffee that was waiting for you as Mark watched you carefully, knowing how off you were after a night of drinking.
"Bunso?"
"Yeah?"
"What's going on with you and Ben?" he asked, confusion swirling through your pounding headache as you slowly looked up, sipping on your coffee.
"Nothing. I don't know what you're talking about." you told him, honestly, as he cocked an eyebrow.
"Bunso, I heard what you told Ben last night."
( No eres la persona que pensé )
Now you were confused. You never remembered talking to him yesterday or even saying anything specifically while you were drinking, losing track after your second drink.
"What did I tell him?" you asked him, sincerely, as Mark crossed his arms over his chest.
"You told him you loved him."
You went pale, as the words registered through your head.
"Shit." you paused, "I need to talk to him."
"Need a ride?" nodding, he smiled as he grabbed his keys, handing you a pair of sunglasses for your headache, as you slipped your heels on and grabbed your purse.
He drove you home, as you checked your phone for any updates from Ben, before finding it empty. As Mark pulled into your driveway, you got out, thanking him as he nodded.
"Are you going home?" you asked as he shook his head. "Okay. I'll give you an update."
( Mientes, me haces daño y luego te arrepientes )
Walking up the stairs, you fished your keys from your purse, opening your door and dropping your purse on the floor. You kicked your heels off and closed the door behind you, before noticing the abnormal silence in the house.
Walking through, you heard a slight noise coming from down the hall. Thinking it might be Ben, you made your way down the hall, quietly, as you reached the doorway. Slowly opening the door, you peeked in, before freezing.
( Ya no tiene caso que lo intentes )
Ben was in your room, with another woman over him. Both of them making noise and moving as you gasped, catching their attention. She was quickly pushed off by Ben, who, wide eyed, covered himself and reached out for you.
"Baby.. it's not what it looks like."
"Not what it looks like?" your lip quivered as you stuttered out a reply, "Benjamin.."
"I swear, it's not what it looks like."
( No me quedan ganas de sentir )
"No! No! It's exactly what it was! How could you!" you lashed out, as the girl hid behind the bed, covering herself best she could and out of sight. "I trusted you! I loved you!"
"I love you baby!" Ben cried, slipping on his boxers and walking over to you, as you pushed him away.
"Get away! Get your filthy hands off me! I loved you, Ben! I trusted you and you threw it all away! For what? Some one-night stand?" you motioned to the girl on the floor, as she groaned out loud.
"Who the hell are you?" she asked, angrily, as you glared.
"His girlfriend. Now ex, thanks to you." looking at Ben, you clenched your jaw. "We're done."
"No, baby, please, hear me out. Give me another chance."
"No! I'm done! We're done!" you screamed out, running to the front door as you picked up your purse and heels before running out.
( Busca tu camino en otra parte, mientras busco el tiempo que perdí )
Mark noticed the tears streaming down your face as he quickly got out of the car, heading over to you and opening his arms for you. "Hey, hey, hey. It's okay, what's wrong?"
"H-he cheated on m-me."
He cursed under his breath, looking over at the doorway where Ben was walking out in determination and sadness.
"Get the fuck away, asshole." Mark said, as Ben flinched, knowing full well Mark isn't afraid of a little blood shed. "How could you do this to her?"
"I wasn't thinking."
"No, you don't get to use that excuse on her. Go back to your little pet and leave her alone." Mark said as Ben shook his head.
"No, Y/n, let me explain."
"You're done, man." Mark said, pushing you behind him as he looked up at Ben, the height disadvantage overpowered by the adrenaline coursing through his veins. "Either go away or I'll make you go inside."
( Que hoy estoy mejor sin ti )
Ben stopped, dropping his head as he turned and walked inside. Mark quickly guided you inside the car, as he drove you away from your home, and away from Ben.
Who would've known, that two perfect people, would end up hurting one another?
Ben was a liar and a cheater, something you never would've imagined for someone as perfect for you as him.
( Que hoy estoy mejor sin ti )
