"Is y/n wearing a new top?"
"No, we've seen that before. But never with that skirt."
"We should probably stop staring before it gets creepy though."
"Yeah."
Peter had his hand on his palm, looking straight at the girl of his dreams.
She was perfect to him. Her hair always looked perfect, not a strand out of place. Her eyes always seemed to be the kindest he's ever looked at. Her lips were always pulled back in a smile, and whenever they weren't, they were resting on the tip of her pencil, as she studied for a test. Everything about her was beautiful. What Peter fell in love with the most, was the ability she had to speak two languages fluently. He hasn't even known, until one day when he accidentally tripped over his two feet and bumped into you, dropping your books all over the floor.
"No manches. Acabo de acomodar todos mis papeles en mi folder y ahora tengo que volver a organizarlos."
"What?"
"Uh? Oh, sorry. I was just.. talking to myself. It's weird, I know."
"No, no! I-uh-I do it all the time. Shit, I mean, sorry."
And she laughed, her hand brushing back to put a strand of hair behind her ear, a smile on her lips as she looked at his brown eyes.
"So you're bilingual?"
"Since I was a little girl."
"That's awesome."
"Thanks."
Their conversation would have looked awkward from any other point of view, but to them, it was perfect. They were in sync and they mixed well together. After that, Peter couldn't take his eyes off her, whenever he saw her in the halls, in the cafeteria, in class, at the coffee shop, at the mall or in his apartment complex.
It had surprised him too, when he first saw you there after the incident earlier in the day. But to say he was excited was an understatement. Peter couldn't believe he was neighbors with his crush. It was like a dream come true. And thanks to his random burst of confidence, he had asked you for your number. And, to his luck, you had given it to him. The day just couldn't get any better for Peter.
"Peter?"
He jumped back slightly as he zoned back, his eyes landing on another pair, as he saw her.
She was there, in front of him, looking at him! He couldn't believe it.
"What can't you believe?"
"Shit, did I say that out loud? Sorry."
"It's okay, Parker. So, what are you doing tonight?"
"Uh, homework.."
"I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that because I saw you finishing it earlier in the library."
Peter rubbed the back of his beck nervously, knowing he had been caught in his own web of lies.
"Well, if you're not busy, come over to my apartment. I'm gonna be baking brownies and I know how much you love sweets."
"Okay! What time?"
"7pm."
"I'll be there."
"Great! My key will be under the mat. I'll see you then, Peter Parker."
"B-bye."
You walked off, a smile on your lips as you headed to your fifth period, knowing full well you had two more classes before your night in with Peter. You were excited. Maybe this would be the night you confessed your feelings to him.
Or maybe he'll do it.
"Peter! You have to tell her tonight! It will be perfect timing!"
"I don't know, Ned. She probably doesn't even like me."
"Like hell she doesn't! Do you not see the way she looks at you? The way she smiles whenever you're around? How her gaze lingers on you a little longer? How she laughs harder whenever you tell super crappy jokes?"
"She does all that?"
"Peter Parker! Where the hell have you been, man? Do you zone out whenever she's talking to you too?"
"What?"
"This is going to be a lot harder than I thought."

Your phone was sitting on the counter top as you clicked on Spotify, taking out ingredients for the brownies as you waited for your phone to load. Immediately once it did, you clicked on a song in Spanish that you wished someone knew the meaning to. But you would never tell. Immediately once he started singing, you joined along, already knowing the song by heart, seeing as you played the song countless of times in your apartment.
"Ay, que me has hecho, que hasta perdí la razón. Hoy he venido a confesarte, lo rico que se siente amarte. Ay, que me has hecho, que ya no tengo control, es como un tsunami de amor, se va directo a mi corazón."
Your hips swayed to the music as you started mixing ingredients, your apron tied around your waist, hair up in a bun and a smile on your face.
As the bridge began, you stopped mixing the ingredients, and instead, chose to dance around the apartment, your hair starting to get loose, as you let your hair go and kept dancing, not noticing that Peter had walked into the apartment 5 minutes ago. He had been flushed against the wall, watching you dance around to a foreign song, which seemed familiar to his ears, as he realized he had heard you sing this song under your breath countless times as he walked passed you in school.
"Yo siento que este amor es demasiado grande, fuere como la muralla china y tan alto que Los Andes. Yo siento que este amor es demasiado bueno, tan perfecto como el mismo cielo y tan dulce como un caramelo. Yo se que tú también te sientes como yo, que puedo tocar el sol, con el rostro de tu piel, hasta el amanecer bebiéndome tu amor. Somos uno envéz de dos, y a tus besos sigo fiel."
As soon as the song ended, you headed back to the kitchen, and heard as another song came on. A minute later, you heard the door open and Peter call out. Unknown to you, he had made it seemed like he just walked in, when in reality, he had heard you sing the whole song.
"Peter! In the kitchen!"
He walked in, a smile on his face before he came over to help with the brownies.
"Hey, what was that song you were just listening to?"
"What?"
"The song.. in Spanish. What did it say?"
"You heard?"
"Yeah. And your dance moves are amazing."
"Peter!"
"Ow. I mean it, y/n."
"Do you really want to know what the song was about?"
"Yes, please."
He had stopped mixing, as his eyes burned deeply into yours. He was close to hearing you confess your love to him. But you were too nervous.
"I-uh-are you sure?"
"Yes! Please tell me!"
"Fine."
You clicked on your phone and started the song again, as you started explaining the lyrics.
"Wait, what did that say right now?"
"It's saying 'what have you done to me, that even I lost reason. I've come to let you know just how it feels to love you.'"
"Is that song to anyone?"
"Yeah. I think the singer is taking about a girlfriend, but I'm no completely sure."
"No, no. In your mind, is that song about anyone at all?"
Sighing, you braced yourself for his reaction. This was not how you planned this night to go at all.
"Yeah. It's about you, Peter."
"M-me?"
"Yeah."
"I-uh-"
"You don't need to say anything. You already gave me your answer."
Peter wasn't about to lose you, and he realized there was only one way to confess without him stumbling with his words. He grabbed your cheeks and pulled you to him, pressing his pink lips to yours. You hesistated, before bringing your arms behind his beck and pulling him closer, as one of his hands traveled down to your hips, the other staying on your cheek. You moved together in sync, and the kiss was better than you had first imagined.
To say that Peter was a good kisser was an understatement. He knew damn well how to kiss.
As you both parted, your eyes connected, as you smiled before acknowledging what had just happened.
"That was better than I imagined."
"Same here."
"So does that mean you like me?"
Peter chuckled before bringing you back into another kiss, which ended a little quicker than you planned.
"Does that answer your question?"
With a smile, you reconnected your lips.
Being bilingual definitely had its perks.
