Also, I have a Peter Parker fanfic that is currently up! I'm still working on it, but the actual fanfic will be coming soon.
I want to know if people actually read these A/N's, so when 'you' say "Cool as a cucumber..." comment "hail hydra".
Summary: After the whole mess of Homecoming a few months ago, you started dating your best friend, Peter Parker. Now, he's taking you to meet one of your biggest inspirations — and his unofficial dad — Tony Stark.
QOTP: Friday or Jarvis?
Word Count: 1401
You've wanted to meet Tony Stark for as long as you can remember; he's your biggest inspiration, if you're being honest.
Then, your best friend Peter got a internship with him, and even though you don't want to admit it, you were a little jealous. Later, you realized the internship was just Peter being an idiot and going out fighting crime every night as Spiderman, so you weren't really jealous anymore.
Anyway, now that you and Peter are dating, your hopes of meeting Tony have been raised a little, and Peter has certainly noticed. Now, he's found the perfect opportunity for you to come and meet him.
Tony called him yesterday and asked him to come to the base so he can make some upgrades to his suit, and Peter spontaneously asked if he could bring you along. Luckily, you didn't have any plans, so now you're on your way to the Avenger's base.
"I can't believe I'm about to meet the actual genius, billionaire, philanthropist Tony Stark," you say, practically bouncing with excitement in the back of the car Tony sent to take you to the base. The man driving the car - Happy - chuckles, but says nothing.
Peter laughs. "Please tell me you aren't gonna be like this when you actually meet him."
You shake your head and attempt to calm down. "No, of course not. I'll be totally cool. Cool as a cucumber..."
However, when you make it to the base and actually meet Tony in the large foyer, you look up at him with wide, admiration-filled eyes. "H-Hi."
He shakes your hand, an eyebrow raised. "Hi. Tony Stark. You must be Y/N. Peter's told me a lot about you."
You look over at Peter. "You have?"
"That's... That's not important," he replies, blushing. He looks at Tony pointedly. "Shall we, Mr. Stark?"
Tony chuckles, but hides it. "Yes, we shall. Just follow me..."
Peter grabs your hand as you walk, considering you're too busy looking amazed at the base around you to pay attention to where you're going.
Finally, you enter Tony's workshop, comprised of state of the art technology that fills you with pure happiness just looking at it.
Tony notices. "Go ahead and play around with it, if you want." You hesitantly walk over to one of the machines, going to figure out what it does. Meanwhile, Peter is handing Tony the Spidey suit. Tony takes it and starts hooking it up to some computers. "So, how long have you been dating, again?"
"About two months," Peter replies, grinning. He looks over at you, watching you get excited when you figure out how to work the machines.
"You kissed her yet?" Tony asks casually.
Peter practically gasps, turning back to look at him. "Mr. Stark!"
"What? It's a simple question. Just wanted to know what we're dealing with so I can give you the best advice."
"I..." Peter sighs. "No."
"Well-" Tony starts, suddenly stopping as he looks at the computer. He leans forward, squinting at the screen.
Peter goes to get a closer look at it, too. "What is it?"
"Something..." Tony trails off, typing. "Your suit. Something's off with the settings... What is that?"
You stop dead in your tracks, looking like a deer in headlights when you hear Tony say that. You can't even speak, you're so panicked.
He's gonna be ticked.
Peter looks at you, then Tony follows his gaze, both of them confused. Suddenly, Peter remembers. "Oh! Y/N hacked into the suit-"
"What?" Tony asks. You practically gulp, blanching.
Peter, oblivious, answers excitedly, "Y/N hacked into the suit! She hooked up the police scanner for me, and she can hack into it from her computer and talk to me and stuff. I told you she's good with computers."
Tony looks at you as if waiting for confirmation, so you nod. "Ye-Yeah, I kinda... did that..."
You wait for him to start yelling at you, but instead he calmly asks, "How old are you, kid?"
"Si-Sixteen."
"I had so much security placed on here. That's amazing," he says, grinning and turning back to his computer. "Come here and show me how you did it."
You walk over, shaking from shock and relief, and show him, Peter watching proudly from the sidelines.
By the end of it, Tony's still beaming. "You've got some real talent, kid."
"Th-Thanks."
"You know, ever since I came up with that lie about the Stark Internship for Pete, I've been wondering if I should actually do it," he says, thinking. You try not to let your hopes get too high, but at the same time, you think you're gonna puke if he's saying what you think he's saying. He looks down at you. "You in?"
"I-I mean, I would l-love to-"
"Of course, I've gotta talk to your parents first, but I can easily get them on board." He thinks for a moment. "Let me go talk to Pepper. You kids wait here. Play with the robots or something."
As soon as he's gone, you turn to Peter, who can't believe what just happened, either. "Did... Did that just happen?"
He nods a little. "Yeah, I think it did."
You laugh in amazement, still in disbelief. "Your dad is awesome."
"He's not..." Peter starts, then, he stops and shakes his head, chuckling. "Yeah, my dad is awesome."
////
"It was the coolest thing I've ever done, Pete, I cannot believe it..." You're excitedly talking to Peter after your first day of the internship. He's sitting next to you in his Spidey suit, having swung over after doing his rounds. (Your parents aren't home, so you're not worried about them walking in and seeing Peter in the actual Spiderman suit in your bedroom.) You continue. "And he said he could be flexible with my schedule, so I won't have to ditch you and Ned all the time, and I can still do Academic Decathlon..." Eventually, you tell him all the details and take a deep breath. "Okay, I think that's everything."
Peter chuckles. "Sounds exciting."
"Peter, it was more than exciting." You pause for a moment, then reach over and grab his hand. "Thank you."
His brows furrow. "For what? I didn't do anything."
"You introduced me to Tony. I wouldn't be able to do this if it wasn't for you," you reply.
"Well... you're welcome... But you got yourself there, too, you know. Tony was right: You do have a lot talent."
You blush. "Thanks, Pete."
"I'm just stating facts." He chuckles.
You go quiet after that, and you lean your head on his shoulder. After a few moments, you say, "I'm really lucky to have you, you know. And not just because you introduced me to Tony Stark."
He rests his head on top of your own, wrapping an arm around you. His heart is practically melting at your words. "I'm lucky to have you, too, Y/N/N."
Suddenly, you sit up to look at him. "Peter, I... I love you."
He smiles. "I love you, too."
And, even though Tony forgot to give him that advice he promised due to the internship, Peter decides to go for it anyway and leans in, pausing only to make sure you're okay with him kissing you. You close what little distance was left between you, pressing your lips to his. Peter smiles into the kiss, pulling you closer. You wrap your arms around him.
Finally, you pull away, both of you grinning like idiots. Peter rests his forehead on yours. After a moment, he says, "You know, I think you've hacked into my heart."
You pull back, lightly shoving him. "You just ruined the whole moment."
"It was funny, though!"
"Hardly," you reply, laughing all the while.
