DJ_Tatortot helped with this one, which isn't shocking in the least. Idoot.

Also, I'm gonna start posting on Wednesdays, too because I have a ton of stuff lined up.

Summary: You get saved by Spiderman, then decide to learn how to save yourself and others...

QOTP: What would your superhero name be?

Word Count: 2131

"Are you sure you don't want me to walk you to your car?" Sam asks, watching as you take your name tag off. You're about to leave; Sam told you to just head home because of the lack of customers. You work in the mall with him at [store, which, even though you have an infinite number of options, will likely be Hot Topic], and it's currently dark out.

You shake your head, grabbing your bag. "I'll be fine, Sam."

"Are you sure?" Sam asks. "You've heard the stories; bad things happen in mall parking lots at night."

You chuckle, making your way out. "Thanks, Sam, that's very comforting."

"Will you at least call me when you make it to your car?"

You turn, halfway out the door, and smile at him. "Yeah."

////

The parking lot is practically empty, save a few cars and a small group of people congregated around one of those trash cans slash ash trays outside the main entrance.

You speed walk toward your car, slightly regretting the fact that you didn't let Sam walk you to it; you're a good ways away.

In a few minutes, you make it to your car and unlock it, relief washing over you. Sam was just being paranoid; you're fine.

That was a premature notion.

"You got any money in that bag?" someone behind you asks. You jump and turn, cautious but not exactly scared; it could just be someone asking for money.

"I-I have some cash, yeah," you reply, about to reach into your bag. Then, the man pulls a switch blade out of his pocket.

"How about you just hand it all over nice and easy, okay?"

Your heart rate spikes and you swallow, unable to do anything but nod and grab your wallet from your bag, pulling money out.

Before you can hand the man anything, your phone rings, causing you to jump and drop your bag and wallet. Your phone tumbles out on the concrete, and you can see that Sam's calling. The man glances at the screen. "You can talk to your boyfriend, later - give me the money."

"O-Okay," you stutter out, your shaking hands finding the wallet and opening it.

"You know, it's more satisfying to have money that you actually earned. And less illegal," another voice calls out. You can't see who it is because they're standing out of the light, but you think it's a man.

The man with the knife laughs dryly. "You know, it's more satisfying to not get stabbed, but you're getting pretty close to it."

Then, the other man steps into the light. "Did you really just threaten Spiderman?" The man with the knife turns towards the hero, his back to you. He's completely caught off guard, so, in a burst of confidence, you kick him in the back of the knee, causing him to crumple. Spiderman shoots a web at the man's hand - the one holding a knife - and sticks it to the ground. Then, he looks over at you. "Nice."

"Th-Thanks," you stutter as he shoots a web at the man's other hand and legs, effectively holding him down.

He steps around the man and picks up your things, handing them to you. "Well, uh, there you go, uh... What's your name?"

"Y/N."

"Are you alright?" He sounds sort of nervous, despite the fact that he's Spiderman and he just saved you.

"I'm okay," you reply, taking your bag from him.

He smiles under his mask, though you can't see it. "Well, I'm gonna swing out of here now, but you should call the police and wait for them to get here. The webs will hold for two hours, and, uh, the police won't take that long to get here, so... Have a nice night?"

You smile a little. "You, too."

You don't know how many youtube videos you've watched. It started with the shaky videos people took as he swung by, saving the day. Then, you ran out of those and started watching theory videos: Who is Spiderman?

The majority say he has to be, at most, in his early twenties. Others are more far-fetched, one even claiming he's actually a girl.

The FBI agent assigned to monitor your computer history is probably concerned; all you've done is google Spiderman for the past week. You have to know who he is, and it's quickly becoming clear that, in order to do that, you're gonna have to ask him.

And you know exactly how to get his attention.

Four months later, Peter is building the Millennium Falcon set with Ned for the umpteenth time. As they build, Ned is talking about the newest superhero vigilante to grace New York - The Black Warrior. "She's awesome, Peter," Ned says. "Everyone's talking about her."

"I know," Peter says simply. Out of nowhere, she just appeared a few weeks ago, and it's been a competition ever since.

Ned continues, ignoring the slight annoyance in Peter's voice. "Has Stark said anything about her?"

"No."

"He has to know about it. She's everywhere."

"I know."

Ned stops, causing Peter to look up at the smug grin on his face. "You're jealous."

Peter drops the legos in his hands, looking at Ned incredulously. "Jealous? Of what?"

"The attention? The fact that she's beating you in terms of crimes stopped in past few weeks? Or the fact that everyone's calling her the new Spiderman? The-"

"Okay, Ned," Peter replies, causing Ned to smile smugly again. After a pause, he suggests something.

"You two should team up."

Peter is confused and exasperated. "What?"

"You should team up. You'd be, like, a superhero power couple."

"Power couple?"

"Yeah."

"That's a horrible idea."

////

Peter's sitting on his fire escape, waiting for an alert to a crime in progress; he has to beat The Black Warrior. Luckily, it doesn't take long for a robbery in progress to be reported, and Peter swings into action.

When he arrives, The Black Warrior is already there, causing him to inwardly groan. However, considering the fact that robbery is still going on, he moves in anyway.

A group of people in ski masks are in the process of robbing a bank, and they're distracted by trying to take you down. You've never fought this many people at once before, but there's a first time for everything.

You dodge their blows, landing a few of your own, only managing due to the fact that three of them are still packing money into duffle bags. Then, one of them has enough and pulls out a pistol. A million things start running through your head as you try to figure out what to do.

Then, a web comes out of nowhere, sticking the gun and the guy's hand to the wall. "Now, that wouldn't be fair, would it?"

You look over as the robbers stop, caught off guard, the shocked yet ecstatic expression on your face concealed by your mask. He's only able to hear you because of the silence in the room. "Spiderman?"

Suddenly, two other robbers pull out their pistols, one aiming at Spiderman, the other at you. The one aiming at Spiderman cocks his gun. "Neither of you move, or you both get shot." The other, aiming at you, cocks his gun, too.

You glance at Spiderman, worried. The rest of the robbers continue loading money into duffle bags. You're both trying to think of a way out of this.

"You want a murder charge as well as robbery?" you boldly ask. The man pointing a gun at you tells you to shut up, but you continue. "The police have been alerted by now; you aren't exactly conspicuous. And if you shoot either one of us, your sentence is gonna be a whole lot worse than what you'd get for attempted robbery."

"Shut up," the man repeats, though he doesn't move his finger to the gun's trigger. You look at Spiderman, your expression telling him that he needs to take a chance.

So, he shoots a web at the first man, who's aiming at you, then at the other, their hands and guns getting stuck to their chests.

Immediately, the rest of the robbers lash out, causing you and Spiderman to spring into action. He shoots webs, while you rely on pure hand-to-hand combat.

It's over in a few minutes, some of the robbers knocked out, some of them stuck to the wall with webs, and a couple suffering from both. Spiderman hears sirens and takes off, you on his heels, shouting, "Wait!"

He stops, turning. "What?"

You hesitate. "I-I need to talk to you."

He seems as if he's thinking for a moment, then he grabs your hand and pulls you around the corner. "We shouldn't be here when the police arrive; they ask too many questions about my identity."

"I know," you reply. "I made the mistake of waiting once, and they asked me about mine."

The sirens are fast approaching, and before you can say anything, he wraps his arm around your waist. "Hold on; we need to get to a higher spot."

As soon and you wrap you arms around him, he takes off, swinging higher and higher. You think you're going to die, but you make it onto a high roof in one piece.

You let go of him when you land; you need to catch your breath and regain your balance. "Th-That was cool and all, Spiderboy, but never do that again."

He laughs a little, then gives you a minute. "What'd you wanna talk about?"

"Who are you?" you ask. Hs opens his mouth, then closes it, saying nothing. So, you pull off your mask - it's a cheap, plastic masquerade mask, black like the rest of your outfit. He looks at your face, and you can tell he's shocked. You toss the mask on the ground. "You know who I am now, so it's only fair you tell me who you are."

After a long pause, the only thing he says is, "Y/N?"

You sigh. "I did all this so I could find out who you are, so I think I deserve an answer. I mean, I also did it to help you because your workload's gotta be huge."

He looks at your mask, then back up at you. "How? And why The Black Warrior? What?"

"Well, for starters, I took karate throughout elementary and middle school, and I took a couple self defense class before I bought, like, ten pairs of black leggings and t-shirts, and a couple masks from Party City. The Black Warrior was the simplest thing I could think of, and it matched my wardrobe. As for my response times, my dad's a cop and I have a car, so..."

"So you did this to find out who I am?"

"Well, you saved my life-"

"No, I didn't," he interrupts. "I mean, I kinda did, but you're the one who kicked the guy."

"You're the one who gave me the opportunity," you argue. "And, anyway, it was that small act of bravery that gave me the idea in the first place."

He shakes his head, laughing a little. "This is insane. You did all of this just to find out who I am? And here I thought you were trying to replace me..." You chuckle, but don't say anything, giving him a look in order to implore him to answer your main question. Finally, after a long pause, he relents and pulls off his mask. "I-I'm Peter Parker..."

"Well, Peter Parker," you reply, "you can have New York back. The Black Warrior was fun while she lasted." He smiles, ruffling his hair. You continue. "However, I'm going to need a favor."

He stops, suspicious. "What?"

"Can you take me back down? Because my car is parked down there."

He glances down at the bank and sees a sea of blue, flashing lights. "You're gonna have to wait until the police leave unless you wanna be seen."

You sigh heavily and sit down on the roof, next to your discarded mask. "I guess we'll just have to wait, Parker, so we can call it a date, if you want."

He blushes, smiling and sitting down next to you. "I guess you like to cut to the chase?"

"Well, we're gonna be here for a while, so might as well make it interesting."
