INFINITY WAR/RAGNAROK SPOILERS
TRIGGER WARNING??? I guess. I mean, you keep dying in various, harrowing ways.
Oh, my gosh, it's Mystery Spot.
Summary: Your last words to him.
QOTP: Famous last words?
Word Count: 2465
Bruce -
"Alright. Be back soon. Love you!"
You kissed his cheek. He smiled.
He was in his lab, studying something you couldn't even begin to understand, even if he could tell you. He looks away from it now, though, to smile at you.
You smiled back. "I'm gonna run and get some groceries. Need anything?"
He thought for a second. "Deodorant and toothpaste."
You smiled and kissed him, then started to head out the door. "Alright. Be back soon. Love you!"
"Love you, too!"
You were gone longer than it should've taken you to get groceries, but Bruce didn't notice. He was doing his experiment.
Then, he got a call.
He always thought, considering his job, your death would be more gruesome. Less normal than it was.
He was terrified it would be his fault, one way or another.
But he never suspected a car accident.
[I'm boutta make myself cry someone play Asia]
Bucky -
"Don't try to find me. I love-"
One minute, everything was fine.
The next, you were knocked out, and Bucky was frantically searching for you, having no idea where you went.
Hydra.
He called Steve immediately and Steve called Tony. He got everyone looking for you.
Two days later, they contacted Tony, told him to get Bucky in the room. It was a live video, playing on a huge screen in the base, hidden from the rest of the world.
Bucky could see you. You couldn't see him.
You were tied to a chair, crying hysterically and shouting. "I'm not saying anything!" A gun appeared in the frame, pointed at your head. You still shook your head. "I'm not gonna let you get to him! I won't!"
The gun cocked.
Bucky was standing there, speechless, heart hammering in his chest. You looked at the camera, shaking. "B-Bucky... It's Hydra. It's a trap-" Someone shouted something at you from off screen, but you continued. "Don't try to find me. I love-"
There was a bang as the trigger was pulled. The feed cut out.
A loud, heart-wrenching sob was heard as Bucky sank to the floor, unable to stand anymore.
[it was the hEAT OF THE MOMENT]
Clint -
"If you'd keep your mouth shut for five seconds, maybe I wouldn't miss."
It was an easy mission. Infiltrate an old Hydra base and look for any documents or data you could find. Hydra's gone; it should be deserted.
It wasn't.
They sent you and Clint. They were sure it'd be empty, save for the stuff you were supposed to find.
Neither you or Clint had powers - Clint was a good shot with a bow and arrow, you were a decent shot with a gun. Hand-to-hand combat was more your strong suit, but that wasn't really an option; there was too many of them.
Clint was gathering the documents and you were covering him, shooting into the hallway and taking cover behind an overturned table.
"You doin' okay?" Clint asked.
A shot. "Fine. Running out of bullets, though, Bird Brain, so hurry up."
"I'm trying."
"I could do without the sass."
He mocked you under his breath, but you pretended not to hear it. Suddenly, he heard you make a strangled noise and you stopped shooting. He quickly knocked an arrow and shot at a Hydra agent, glancing at you when he turned. "What happened?"
"I got shot in the shoulder, that's what happened!"
"You're letting them get too close."
"If you'd keep your mouth shut for five seconds, maybe I wouldn't miss."
You picked the gun back up and came out from behind the table and shot wildly, unable to aim properly because of your shoulder.
Then Clint heard a gasp, you stopped shooting, and a bullet hit the wall next to his head. He turned and shot, one arrow after the other.
He carried you out of the base and held you on the Quinjet once the pilot finally got it through his head that it was too late.
He cried for hours and said nothing when he slammed the documents down on the table back at HQ.

[tELLING ME WHAT YOUR MEANT]
Loki -
"You have the stars... in your eyes."
He never meant for this to happen. Not now.
Years ago, he would've reveled in it. The destruction. Asgard falling. If he couldn't have the throne, no one could.
After he met you, he couldn't care less about the throne.
You were the only who knew he wasn't really Odin, that he wasn't dead. At least, until Thor came along.
Hela was destroying everything. You hid with Heimdall while Loki and Thor went off to who knows where. When they came back, there was a fight with her - their sister.
You wouldn't leave Loki's side, but he begged you to so you wouldn't get hurt. You hid, watching the fight, ready to step in at a moment's notice.
Loki tried to defeat her, but she evaded him.
Not even Thor expected her to go for you; he didn't even know you were there.
Loki ran to you as you hit the ground, blood covering your shirtfront, then his hands as he tried to stop the bleeding. Thor was fighting Hela now. He didn't care.
"L-Loki," you'd choked out.
He stopped trying as you weakly grabbed his hand. Tears were in his eyes when he looked at you. "I-I told you to go with Heimdall."
"And I told you I wasn't leaving you."
"Well, look where that got us."
He's trying to hold the tears back, to be strong, but he's failing. You reach up with your free hand and touch his cheek, pushing his hair back with a small smile on your face. "You have the stars... in your eyes."
He breaks down then, knowing it's over and holding your hand to his cheek until Thor pulls him away. He has Heimdall carry you onto the ship so he can bury you on Earth.
He's lost without you; he doesn't know what to do. Everything is meaningless now.
Maybe that's why he tried to kill Thanos.
[I'm honestly just tryna give y'all a break in between sad stuff but if you're lookin to cry ig you can skip over these]
Nick -
"I love you."
It was a shootout. Some of yours were down, some of theirs were down. Blood was pooling on the floor.
You turned and shot into the room. Nick was standing on the other side of the doorway. You ducked back into the hallway, breathing hard. "If this is what happens when you go on assignments, I don't think I wanna go on assignments with you anymore."
He rung off a few shots and ducked again, snorting. "As if your assignments always go off smoothly."
"A lot smoother than this."
He shot again, then looked over at you. "You know what's smoother?"
"Sandpaper?"
"My pick-up lines."
You laughed despite the situation. "You don't really need those anymore, though; you've already got me." He was about to reply, but you said something before he could. "We need to move."
He followed you farther down the hallway, but you never reached the end. You both turned upon hearing someone behind you, holding a gun.
You knew what was gonna happen immediately.
As he pulled the trigger, you jumped in front of Nick and pushed him, knocking him to the floor. He shot the man as quickly as he could, then ran to you.
You were still standing, looking at the blood on your shirt. You looked at him and crumpled, but he caught you and lowered you to the floor. "It's okay. You're gonna be fine."
"No, I'm not." Your voice was strained; you were in pain and you were terrified.
"Yes, you are." He was scrambling to find something to stop the bleeding until you could make it out of the building.
"Nick, there's nothing you can do, okay? It's over."
"No, it's not."
"It's over."
He was still trying. "It's not."
You didn't know what hurt worse; the wound or watching him desperately try to delay the inevitable. "I love you."
"I love you, too. And I'm not letting you die."
Your heart stopped beating before you could say anything else, but he still held out hope. He carried you out and got you to paramedics, who quickly pronounced you as DOA.
He screamed and fought with them until Maria managed to calm him down and he burst into tears.
[hEAT OF THE MOMENT]
Peter -
"No! I'm not leaving you!"
It was bad.
The city was getting leveled - aliens, as always. The Avengers were still disbanded, SHIELD was still gone. The biggest ship was over New York.
The ground shook. You grabbed onto Peter to keep from falling. That's when you saw it.
Peter had to go, of course; he always has to save the day. "Get home, okay? Hide. Stay safe."
"But-"
"I love you."
He webbed away, leaving you standing on the sidewalk. You couldn't go home - waiting and worrying. Wondering. He could get hurt.
Chasing Spiderman was hard to do on foot.
He was in the midst of the fight and he was losing. All his strength was gone, and his entire body felt broken and battered. Then, he heard it. "Peter!"
He turned and saw you running towards him. His eyes widened and he scrambled to get up. "Y/N! What are you doing here?! Go home! Please!"
"No! I'm not leaving you!"
You were still running towards him when one of the aliens grabbed you in one hand. They had a blade in the other.
Peter can't close his eyes without it replaying in his head.
"NO!"
Those aliens never saw him coming after that.
[sHONE IN YOUR EYEEEEEEEEESS]
Steve -
"When this is all over, you should shave."
Thanos was coming.
You were in Wakanda with Steve and the others. Shuri was trying to get the Mind Stone out of Vision's head when his ship showed up and Wakana's borders were bombarded.
Steve and the others were going to fight.
"Stay with Shuri, and keep Vision safe until she can get the stone," Steve said to you. There wasn't really much you could do to keep Vision safe; you didn't have powers. You weren't even an Avenger.
You nodded. "Okay. You keep yourself safe."
He chuckled. "I will."
You kissed him. "When this is all over, you should shave."
He laughed, then; you'd been complaining about his beard for a while. It was scratchy and it was harder to kiss him. That didn't mean it didn't look good, but...
"We'll see," he said.
Then, he walked out with the others to fight Thanos.
When he came back, he found Shuri unconscious and a pile of dust on the floor.
He shaved his beard that night and never grew it out again.
[Do these tacos taste funny to you?]
Thor -
"See you then. Bye."
The Avengers were broken up, the Nine Worlds were calm. He had no idea where Loki was. He had nothing to do. Nowhere to be.
He was walking the streets of Midgard and it was sunset. Suddenly, he felt a tap on his shoulder and turned.
The breath was knocked out of him at the sight of you. "Oh, um, h-hello."
You smiled. "Sorry to bother you, but... you're Thor, right?"
He nodded slightly. "Yes, I am."
After you thanked him for saving the world (three times), you started talking. Eventually, you stopped and sheepishly asked, "You wanna... go somewhere? Find a place to eat or...?"
He smiled. "I'd love that."
You found a restaurant that was open and sat down to eat. You talked well into the night. The waiter at the restaurant had to ask you leave because they were closing. You parted ways outside and exchanged numbers.
The next day, after Tony told Thor how to work his phone, he called you. And you answered. "Hello? Thor?"
"Hello."
You made plans for a second date later that night.
"See you then," you said. "Bye."
"Bye."
That night, you never showed up. Thor went back to the base, sulking. Steve was watching the news when he got back, and he sat with him.
Ten minutes later, the news anchor reported a murder victim found in an alley near the restaurant you were planning to meet Thor at.
It was you.
Thor was left wondering what could have been, and if he could've saved you.
[Yesterday was Tuesday, but today is Tuesday, too.]
Tony -
"Promise me, Tony."
He made a suit - one that would protect you at a moment's notice, fly you somewhere safe. All he had to do was tell Friday - or press a button on his watch.
You couldn't control the suit while you were in it; he knew you wouldn't want to leave him in a dire situation, but he couldn't risk you getting hurt.
He couldn't activate the suit either.
The Mandarin thought of everything.
He never saw you, though. You stayed hidden.
You knew if you didn't do something, Tony was gonna die, so you did the only thing you could do.
You got in a suit.
It was an older one - the first one you saw. Friday protested as you got in it, but you didn't heed her warnings. It was too late for her to do anything.
You wonkily flew back to where Tony and the Mandarin were fighting and flew straight into the Mandarin. You had no idea what you were doing, but you kept him away from Tony, who was shouting at you to stop, to get to safety.
It was an old suit. The Mandarin was powerful. You kicked him as hard as you could before you both went down.
Tony got you out of the destroyed suit, Friday called for an ambulance. You were fading fast.
"Tony."
"I'm here, I'm here. You're gonna be fine." He was holding your hand, crying.
"We both know that's not true." He couldn't say anything - he just cried harder. You squeezed his hand, though it was weak. "Promise me you won't blame yourself for this."
"Y/N-"
"Promise me, Tony."
"O-Okay. I promise."
He tried to keep his promise, but it was hard not to. If he could've got you in that suit, you would've been fine. Who knows if he would've been, but that doesn't matter.
You're gone, and there's nothing he can do about it.
[YAY YOU MADE IT!! Have a pig in a poke.]
