So it happened like this.

Wattpad emailed and said they were teaming up with Simon and Schuster Gallery Books for an anthology of Imagines about famous celebrities, and asked would I like to pitch an idea. WOULD I??? Is Big Ben a clock??

They rather helpfully enclosed a list of celebs that they said they would love to read imagines about, but we could submit others if we were that way inclined.

Thankfully, the only two celebs I was interested in writing about were on the list; can you guess who?

Well as mentioned previously, since there weren't enough Tom Hardy FanFic stories in the world I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to create one. Because if there's a story you want to read, write it. That's what they say. 

So I pitched for him first, he is my husband after all...

I sent in two Tom pitches I think (we could submit more that one). My first was a rather fantastical idea of a Wizard posing as a pharmacist, a magic medicine with the power to grant wishes, and a downtrodden wife who wanted to switch her husband for someone else. I actually really liked that idea... *gazes into the middle distance*

The second was being trapped in a snowstorm with him on a remote ScottIsh island while he researched his next role in "The Revenant" in true Tom style. (I may have wrote a little of this one, for my own pleasure!)

At least I think this was the second pitch.. I honestly forget, maybe Wattpad HQ have it in a file somewhere...

And of course I pitched for Jamie. (Jamie Dornan to the uninitiated). The beautiful Irish serial killer playing god that is Jamie Dornan.

My Jamie Pitch centred around an interview he gave to the LA Times (which he has since partially tried to retract - but we know you did it Jamie! You're not fooling anyone! ,) ) about how he followed a woman from the subway down a street in preparation for his role as Paul Spector.  In case you don't already know, Paul Spector was his breakthrough role in the BBC series 'The Fall', which if you haven't seen - YOU SHOULD GO WATCH RIGHT NOW. Now of course no one wants to read about Jamie Dornan being all creepy and stalkery, Jamie is a beautiful sweet humble family man, so I promise you my story  is not at all like that - In fact my story is not what it seems at all... I'll post an excerpt later. ,)

And so with pitches submitted... WE WAIT.

I waited a few weeks to hear back from The Powers That Be - Also known as Caitlin and Ashleigh from Wattpad.  They're so lovely by the way. And to my utter astonishment they loved my Jamie pitch. They wanted to include my pitch in the anthology. They wanted to PUBLISH my pitch in the anthology.

They wanted me to write my pitch.

OH MY GOD.

My head was sort of going: But it was just a pitch!? A hundred words maybe, how on earth do I make that a story? I can't, and even if I managed to they'll hate it, this will be the end of my writing days. All done. By writer Scarlett, it was fun while it lasted.

I seriously hope some of the other writers were having similar nihilistic thoughts at this point - not because I wish them ill, they're all lovely. I just don't want to think I was alone is this crisis of confidence.

Since we only had a few weeks to write the story, I decided on this kind of approach.

So a few weeks before Christmas I sat down at the computer and sent a prayer to the writing goddess... and she heard me. ,)
