Imagine the Bat Boys
Imagine the Bat Boys on their first day of high school......
"We're here Master Dick." Alfred said looking in the rear view mirror to see Dick.
Dick looked out the window at the school that was before him. He was excited, it was his first day of high school.
"Master Dick, there are people waiting to drop their kids off."
Dick snapped out of his daze, "Alright Alfred, bye."
He swung the door open and took three steps out, the school was more intimidating now that he was outside of the comfort of the car. He waved at Alfred before walking up the stairs.
"Gotham High." He breathed.
Taking the final steps up to the building, the doors flew open. Three Juniors pushed against one another to get through the doors. Dick laughed at them as they fell down the stairs.
Once the three were back on their feet they glared at Dick.
"What are you looking at punk?" The first one said.
"Oh look he's a tiny bopper Freshman." The second one chimed in.
The third laughed, "Low man on the totem pole."
Dick brushed off the comments and made his way into the school. Lockers were strung out on either side of him. Rooms were everywhere. In bold letters at the end of the hall were the words, "Principals Office."
He made a vow to himself that he would never go to the principals office, no matter what. This was his time to shine. To be the perfect student.
Dick fixed his uniform and strutted down the hall to get his class schedule, and to figure out which locker was his.
The five minute bell rang. If he didn't hurry, he would be late to his first class. He searched around for his classroom.
Eventually he found right as the bell rang. His classmates shuffled in beside him. Sitting down in his seat, he took out his schedule to see which class he would go to next.
"Good morning class, I am Miss Figgs. This year I'll be your homeroom teacher. Welcome to Geometry."
~
"Wow Dick. That's how your first day of high school went? Everything was peachy and flowery." Jason asked.
"Well, I wouldn't call it peachy and flowery. Sure, most of the kids liked me, but that's probably because I was smart and everybody wanted the answers from me."
Tim crossed his arms, "And did you give them the answers?"
"No." Dick shook his head and paused as his brothers looked at him, "OK most of the time I didn't."
Jason snapped his fingers, "What about that one girl? Blonde hair, green eyes, taller than you."
"Jason." Dick warned.
"Ar-"
Dick tackled Jason, "Shut up, it's your turn."
~
Jason looked at the building. It was plain, and gave an absolutely dull vibe.
"This is stupid, why did Bruce have to send me to high school? He could've just had Alfred home school me."
An older student rolled by on his skateboard.
Jason growled and threw his fist in the air, "Hey! I'm walking here buddy! Keep it on your side of the lane!" He shook his head and mumbled, "Gotham High? What a stupid name for a private school."
"Is everything stupid to you?" An almost 6 foot student stared down at Jason.
Jason gave the man a bland look, "Pretty much. That includes you."
"I'm Roy. Roy Harper, I'm a Junior this year."
"Nice to meet you Roy. I'm Jason Todd. And I'm a Freshman this year."
Roy smirked, "Alright Freshie, do something for me." He pointed at the flag pole. "See that flag pole."
Jason nodded.
"They don't put our school's flag out until 7:50. Ten minutes before class starts. It's 7:45 now, if you can climb up the pole that holds our schools flag, I'll buy you lunch and snack for the rest of the semester."
Jason looked at the pole. Bruce had taught him a lot, but he didn't know if it would be enough to get up that pole. Especially in five minutes. The pole looked to be high, he took his chances.
"I'll do it."
Jason threw his backpack on the ground and walked over to the pole, gripping onto it. It was the last pole out of the three that were in the front yard of the school. The first being the American flag, second the state flag, and third the schools flag.
"You should know Jason." Roy called to him, "I am the only one who's made it in time, everyone else has always been caught by the principal."
Smirking he replied, "Well, let me break that for you."
Taking a deep breath he started to climb the pole. He was making it up, soon he reached the top.
"Hey Roy!" He called down. "I made it."
"That's great kid! Now get back down."
Jason looked down.
"What's the matter? Can't get back down? Because it's too high?" Roy laughed.
He shook his head, "Nope!" With ease Jason slid back down the pole.
Roy eyes went big. "Wow."
"WHO IS THAT!" An elderly woman screamed.
Roy and Jason looked in the direction of the voice.
"Jason Todd!"
Roy and Jason exchanged glances.
"Hey don't worry, you technically didn't get caught by the principal while you were on the pole. Good luck in the principals office though."
The principal grabbed Jason, "You're coming with me. School hasn't even begun and you're already causing trouble. Your father is not going to be happy with you."
LATER THAT DAY
A girl stopped Jason, "Hey, you're Jason right?"
He nodded.
"Aren't you related to -" She was pointing to a picture of a boy with blue eyes and black hair.
Jason shook his head, "No."
"But I thought you were a-"
Jason cut her off again, "Nope."
~
"What! Jason." Dick whined, "How could you tell them that you weren't related to me?"
Jason shrugged, "I didn't know you very well at the time. And technically we weren't related."
"Bruce always said that he was called into the school on your first day of high school. I never knew it was because you climbed up the flag pole."
Damian shook his head, "It doesn't surprise me."
"Ok, lets just move on. It's Tim's turn now." Jason nudged Tim.
~
"Tim Drake." The principal stuck out her hand. "I'm Mrs. Lyke."
"Nice to meet you."
"I've heard you're quiet smart." She smiled.
Tim gave a small smile back, "Oh well."
"We're so happy to have you here." The principal led Tim to his locker. "This will be your locker for the year."
"Thank you."
"And welcome to Gotham Park High."
The principal walked away, and Tim placed his bag in his locker. He grabbed his schedule paper and walked down the hallway to find his classroom.
Splat!
Tim was on the ground. He looked up to see a blonde hair, green eyed girl, who looked a little older than him. She had a purple jacket on, as well as a purple backpack.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry."
Tim stood up and brushed himself off, "It's fine. Are you ok?"
"Um, yeah. But I was the one who ran into you." She picked up Tim's paper that he dropped, "Look I'm really sorry again. I have to go."
Tim watched as she walked off. He smiled, "We finally meet Stephanie."
~
"That's right, you went to a different school when you were a Freshman." Dick said as he thought back.
"Yep, all through my Junior year. It wasn't until my Senior year that I attended Gotham High."
Jason shook his head in disbelief, "Wait, hold up. You and Stephanie met in high school."
Tim shook his head, "Well, because Bruce wanted me to keep my identity a secret from her. Stephanie met Robin and Alvin Draper way before she met Tim Drake."
Dick nodded, "And Tim and Stephanie didn't really know one another until Stephanie came back from Africa."
"Now it's Demon Spawn's turn."
Damian crossed his arms, "-tt-"
~
"This is my son, Damian Wayne." Bruce gestured for Damian to come forward.
The principal examined the child, "Another one eh Mr. Wayne."
"This is my only blood related one."
She laughed, "Well, I hope Damian is more like the first one you brought me, not the second one."
Bruce gripped Damian's shoulder, "Well I trust Damian will not cause you any trouble. He's been homeschooled up until now, so his manners are......"
"Good?" The principal asked.
"You said it not me."
"Well, he's in good hands Mr. Wayne."
LATER
"Oh look it's another Wayne." A girl whispered.
Damian rolled his eyes and scoffed.
~
"That's it?" Tim asked.
Jason added, "Yours is almost as boring as Dick's."
"Hey!" Dick whined.
Damian rose an eyebrow, "Well, I don't go to a different school like Tim did for most of his high school years. And I was never a trouble maker like Jason. I'm smart, but I'm not the perfect student like Dick was. By the way, your picture is still up in Gotham High. No one has broken your record."
Dick smiled, "Wow, I can't believe it. I still hold the math record and the spelling record."
"Yes, but I hold the geography." Damian smirked.
Tim tapped his chin, "That means I still hold the computer science one."
The three brother looked at Jason.
"What, you think I have my picture and a trophy? No, I don't ok. Unlike you three I dropped out of high school. Because someone." Jason coughed, "Bruce let me die."
Tim rolled his eyes, "Here we go again."
A big thanks to antoniastylez for requesting this!
I don't really know how public schools are, I've gone to private school my entire life.
This was kind of difficult, even though in this short Gotham High was a private school I don't really know how to write first days of high school. I don't really know what to make of it.
