chapter four
Caleb
I sat down for the delicious dinner that my mom had made. Green bean casserole and mashed potatoes. I would eat this meal any day.
"How was your day Caleb?" My mom asked me, smiling.
"It was fun! Me and Jezelle met at the park to tell each other how our dates went."
"I find it really funny that you guys are Matchmakers for each other." She laughed.
"Hey! It was Jezelles idea!" I smiled.
"Ya, that makes sense. She's always liked romance novels and stuff like that."
"When will dad get home?" I asked my mom.
"He's going to be back really late. He had a huge meeting today." She said sadly. My dad was a news reporter so he was always on tv and almost never home. I wished that I could see home more. After dinner, I told my mom to go relax and I started doing the dishes and putting the food away. I found cleaning to be a time where I could think. I thought about how me and Jezelle had met. We were in fifth grade and some older boys were calling me names. That's when Jezelle came up to us and told the boys that there's never any good reasons to bully anyone.
"What do you know, you're just a little kid?" They said to her.
"I know that bullying people can make them do some of the most horrible stuff to themselves." Jezelle said in a strong voice. They just laughed at her.
"Why do you think that it's ok to bully people?" Jezelle asked them.
"Its just one of our hobbies." They shrugged, like it was no big deal.
"Well, I suggest you find a new hobby because if I ever see you bully someone again I will tell the principle." Jezelle threatened. The boys walked away before rolling their eyes at her. Jezelle then gave me a hug and asked me if I was ok. After that, we were the best of friends. Jezelles kind heart was one of her best qualities. I finished the dishes then went to bed.
