Rise From The Storm

"Everybody, run!" I yelled hanging on to the railing for dear life.

Letting go, I grunted as I landed, joining Fay and Typhon. As I ran, I felt the itching desire to just jump up and escape this crazy world. Was it the craving for freedom? Was it the rebellion?

"Not yet." Fay warned. "You'll get your chance soon."

I couldn't see the cars, but I could definitely hear them. They were slowly gaining on us, trying to corner us three. Just before reaching the street wall, I jumped up, followed by Typhon and Fay. My hands clung to the wall like suction cups, launching me upwards with every push. The men in the cars did the same, only slower.

"On the count of three, we run and then jump. Kay?" Fay said, out of breath.

"Kay."

Once I reached the last ledge, my heart beat with excitement. At last, I could run. I could be free. Running again, I could see both from my peripheral vision.

"1..."

The edge was getting closer.

"2...."

Was time slowing down? Wow, the city has never looked so beautiful...

"3!" Rose yelled, transforming mid-jump.

I jumped aswell, unable to contain my excitement. The moment was so unreal. While falling, the wind blew wildly at my face.

I've never felt so alive. I thought as the wings sprouted from my back. It was as if someone had stopped to scratch that itch you had....yes.... that was the feeling. Smoke surrounded me, rising all around and conjuring lightning. Typhon. I thought.

"Watch your left, they're attacking."

It was Fay again, sending telepathic signals.

Out of nowhere, a bomb exploded underneath, shrouding me with even more dense smoke and fire. I smiled, inhaling the   scent. I'm a Dragon. It's like throwing a water balloon at a humanoid. It isn't effective.

"Up!" Fay commanded, clearing out some of the smoke with her bright red wings.

Just as I received the signal, I launched myself upwards, gliding along the rest of the way. My dark blue wings collided with the beautiful sunset, making it seem as if I were part of the sky. With every flap, I gained higher altitude, climbing higher into the air. Fay's warning was clear in my head.

"Not yet. You'll get your chance soon."

Stretching my wings out, I was baffled by the amount of smoke that still shrouded me. Once I reached the top, I flapped my wings again, watching the particles of dust rise and float in the sense air. Now it was our turn. It was our turn to Rise From The Storm.

Hey guys! I'm just a bit sick, so if I get some sort of typo or something,  please don't go all cray-cray on me. I love feedback, so please comment on the way you feel about the book. I will try to update more often since the stories are quiet short. Another thing is that YES. There will possibly be a continuation of some books. It's up to you to decide that. (And me 😉)

Disclaimer:I do not own any images used to make the cover of these books.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed! Don't forget to vote!

Thx for reading!
