(A) and (B) have been best friends for years. (A) is gay and (B) is bisexual, pansexual, etc etc. (B) would always let (A) borrow their sweater and tell them that it looked better on them anyways. A little while passed and (B) ended up dating someone else, completely unaware that (A) has loved them for years. They always gush to them about their new girlfriend (heather) and (A) just sort of, smiles at them sadly and listens to it while dying inside
