It was finally time, she was going to get rid of the female titan and hopefully uncover some secrets along the way. Or at least that's what Kaya would have liked to think, truth is, the fox of the underground was only going to play a minor part in Annie Leonhardt's downfall. A small feeling of dread washed over the amber eyed girl when she remembered her deal with Hange, she would explain everything to them once they had caught Leonhardt.

Firstly, Kaya wanted to make herself some ghoul tea to try and get her through the day and then made her way to the dining hall. There were very few people there, mainly just Eren's friends, Levi and Hange, but the ghoul could tolerate the majority of those people so she wasn't too bothered.

After the ghoul had brewed her tea, she sat down at the table and was instantly greeted by the others. "Good morning miss, are you joining us on the mission." Eren asked the ghoul.

"Course I am, you think I'd let that titan bring me down." She scoffed towards the shifter.

"Am I right in understanding that she tore away a quarter of your stomach?" The blonde boy asked, already knowing the answer.

"My injury was greatly exaggerated." She replied, glaring at Armin in the process.

"Enough with the small talk, we're leaving soon so get ready. Eren, don't do anything reckless, and Mikasa, don't do anything reckless trying to protect him." The captain ordered, sending sharp glances at each of the soldiers he commanded.

The ghoul chugged her tea and left to go to her room. Once inside, she quickly slipped on the suit she had stolen from Levi and the corset and shirt she borrowed from Sasha, feeling cool once again.

"He's gonna kill me for stealing his clothes." The ghoul muttered, but not regretting it regardless. Kaya then glanced back to the hiding spot in the corner of her room and crouched down next to it, beginning to open up the flooring panel. When she had finally uncovered her stash of, illegal books, weapons, etc, she took out a few of her knives and a small pistol that she saved for special occasions, then hid them on her person.

The ghoul was happy and had felt a shred of achievement before she went to greet Levi at the carriage outside of headquarters. Gracefully, she stepped into the carriage and sat next to her captain while smirking at his reaction.

"Is that what I think it is?" Levi questioned.

"You're gonna have to elaborate on that captain." Kaya teased.

"That's my suit, isn't it? So what the hell are you doing wearing it?" The scout said, clearly angered with the thief.

"I'm just borrowing it without asking, it's all good. Besides, you told me to dress eloquently, and there was no way I was gonna wear a dress."

"Tch, couldn't you have asked four eyes or something." Levi spat.

"Face it, we're both short. Most of the people here are taller than us, you were a last resort." Kaya defended, slightly mocking the captain.

Their argument was cut short when Erwin and Jean opened the carriage door and sat down opposite the two bickering scouts. "Kaya, how nice of you to join us, I trust you are aware about my suspicions of you?" The commander said as the carriage began to move.

"Just know that I'm not a titan, I don't even fully understand how you came to that conclusion." She said, lifting her eyes from the floor to look Erwin in the eyes.

"I'm afraid that information best be kept secret, for now, our main objective is capturing miss Leonhardt and finding out as much as we can from her." He added, making sure that she knew the suspicion was still apparent.

Kaya crossed her legs and leant back in the seat. "I'm going to be honest with you, I don't think this is gonna work. Annie already displayed to us that she'd rather die then be exposed, what exactly's stopping that from happening?"

"Our soldiers are up to the task, we have precautions in line." Levi said. The ghoul rolled her eyes, she wanted the female titan to pay for what she'd done, but she was starting to have a few doubts on the mission and was debating on taking matters into her own hands.

Shortly later, the carriage arrived in Stohess and the three descended from the steps to greet the military police. However as soon as the ghoul set foot onto the ground, she heard a loud explosion coming from where the scouts had planned to capture Annie. The thief listened to the destruction that was being caused and the scouts who were being slaughtered, their plan was failing.

"Nile, deploy all troops immediately, we should assume that a titan has already appeared." Erwin shouted, grabbing the commander of the military police's attention. The ghoul recognised him from court and glared in his direction.

"Are you insane, this is wall Sina. There's no way a titan would just suddenly show up here." Nile argued.

Just then, Jean jumped out of the carriage in his Eren disguise and got grabbed by some of the military police. "Who told you to move Yeager?" The soldier accused.

"How about this damn wig said I could, moron. Call me Yeager again and it's your ass, you got that!" Jean yelled while he ran towards the scouts.

"I like this guy, he's got spunk." The ghoul smirked, knowing they shared common hatred towards both Eren and the military.

"Commander, what's the plan?" The dirty blonde asked.

"Ask squad 4 for equipment." Erwin ordered.

"It's good to see that someone has the balls to go, but don't forget to do your damnedest to stay alive." Levi warned the boy.

"Yes sir." Jean said before running to get ODM gear.

"Hold on, what the hell!" Nile shouted, still confused with the whole situation.

"Commander!" A scout said, carrying a case to reveal Erwins gear. The commander gave a quick 'well done' and put on his ODM gear.

"Wait just a damn minute!" Nile stuttered.

"Right all of you are with me, we're rendezvousing with the capture squad." Erwin bellowed above Nile.

"NO! Like hell you are!" The commander of the MPs threatened, pointing his riffle at Erwins head, which led to about a dozen other guns clicking and getting aimed towards the scouts. "This is outright treason, I am well within my rights to shoot you where you stand."

"Think Nile, I find it hard to believe you're actually as thick as you look, you're a hair trigger away from making the biggest mistake of your life." Levi said, trying to knock some sense into the military police.

"Take off the gear before I shoot you!" He demanded.

"Don't you have bigger things to worry about? For gods sake there's a titan in the walls and you're too occupied with your idiotic tendencies to actually acknowledge the fact that people could be dying. Why don't you do your damn jobs as soldiers and protect them." The ghoul said in a calm tone.

The commander was about to answer but was interrupted by two mps who updated him on the situation. "It's horrible sir, we could only guess how many casualties." A soldier said.

"Erwin, your actions brought hell right to our door." Nile accused.

The scout just stood their to take in what Nile had claimed before formulating a response. "I know, I acted entirely on my own authority and I offer no excuses."

The ghoul observed as she watched the fight occur in front of her, she couldn't blame the military police for being a little pissed at Erwin, she never truly understood the commander. "You knew what this would do to us you son of a bitch, you knew and our lives be damned. Why? Damn you, why?" Nile yelled.

"For humanities victory." Erwin simply stated.

"Don't give me that! You're nothing but a traitor, I ought to kill you right here and now. None of the higher ups would fault me."

"Do as your conscience dictates. My post is yours, the female titan must not escape, deployment is through peer and by whoever is in command of prevision. Work with them closely, do what ever is required to ensure she doesn't-"

Niles eyes widened and instantly started to sweat, not wanting the lives of innocents to be on his hands. "Stop, no just shut up. Do you really believe, this, is for the good of us all?" Nile asked while looking around him.

"I believe it's a step forward." Erwin answered.

Nile then lowered the gun. "Everyone lower your rifles. Place this man under arrest. Deploy all troops immediately, for now, focus on evacuation." He commanded the troops. "Erwin, I hear by wash my hands of you and leave you to the high court."

"I'll accept their judgment. You two, stay here for now, pointless deaths don't suit you." He explained while the military were cuffing his hands and taking him inside what the ghouls assumed to be the mps headquarters.

"No, I doubt it would, anymore than it suits anyone else." Levi replied, while the ghoul just nodded her head in agreement.

"This plan of his better be worth it." Kaya spoke to Levi once Erwin was out of ears length. "I'm going to look for survivors." She simply said and began to leave in the direction of where she heard someone's cries. The ghouls enhanced hearing hadn't been a gift in a situation like this, she was constantly hearing screams and cries of innocent people and was unable to do anything about it.

Kaya made her way through the terrain of the city and soon found the source of the cries, a child. The young girl was covered in blood and had a uneasy look on her face. "Hey kid." She said, getting her attention. As soon as the girl looked her in the eyes the ghoul gasped in shock. The kids expression showed all that she had seen that day and the thief wasn't too fond of it.

"Come with me, I'll get you to safety. It's gonna be ok, I'm here." She said as she leant down and gave the girl a light hug, attempting to comfort her the best she could.

"How can you say that, t-they're dead?" The child cried.

"I like to tell myself that no ones really dead, as long as you keep them close in your heart, they'll live on. I'm so sorry for everything you've been through today, nothing anyone says will ever make up for it. But right now, in order to keep your families memories alive, you're gonna have to live. Cmon, let's get you somewhere safe." The thief spoke, she'd often tried to comfort soldiers but never a child.

"Mhm." The child nodded while getting to her feet, however when the ghoul tugged her arm, the kid wouldn't follow.

"Do you want me to carry you? That way you'll be able to close your eyes." Kaya offered, causing the girl to lightly nod again. Steadily, the scout bent down and lifted the kid, holding her close and allowing her to cry into the crease of her neck. "My names Kaya, how about you?" She inquired.

"Helena." The child quietly responded.

"Helena is such a lovely name." Kaya commented.

The two soon got back to the captain and Kaya looked at him with sadness written in her eyes. "Helena, this is a friend of mine." She said as she gestured towards Levi. "Is it ok if he takes care of you while I try and help more people?" The thief asked.

The child reluctantly nodded her head and gave Kaya one last hug before the ghoul dragged Levi to the side. "It's absolute carnage out there, I wouldn't be surprised if Erwin gets executed for making such a sacrificial decision." Kaya whispered.

"He better not, he's one of humanities only hopes." Levi said back.

"I'm going back out there. Make sure the kid gets proper care and maybe medical attention." The thief instructed, as she began walking back into the destruction.

"Since when do you give me orders." The ghoul hear the captain mutter with her advanced hearing, yet she elected to ignore it, having bigger priorities.

The amber eyed girl had wondered through the city for what felt like forever, not even her enhanced hearing could detect life. After a while, the ghoul gave up looking and fed on one of the corpses, she wasn't proud of what she had to do to survive but Kaya just had to get on with it. Quickly, she get rid of any evidence of her eating and made her way back towards Levi once again.

Feeling a sense of loss, the ghoul met eyes with her captain and lightly shook her head. "My only hope is that the military police got to the survivors first." Kaya explained, noticing the little girl she had saved was no where in sight.

Levi was about to speak, however two loud psychotic titan screams put him to a holt. "Let's go, with screams like that, I think it's safe to say that the battle is coming to a close." Levi explained while he walked towards the screams.

"Let's just hope it goes in our favour, after all the sacrifices humanity has made, I think we ought to know." Kaya looked around the city and saw the blood that stained the streets of Stohess. Levi nodded and the two walked through the carnage and were soon exposed to two titans fighting and merging together. Levi wasted no time before using his gear to cut Eren out of his titan.

The ghouls eyes widened when she saw Jean slamming his swords into a crystallised Annie Leonhardt.

"No, what the hell!?" The ghoul yelled as she ran towards the crystal and took out one of her knives. Kaya slashed and stabbed the crystal but it did no damage, it was just like before, her knife was completely shattered.

"Dammit. All the shit we've been through and this is what we get. Annie, wake up, Cmon face the music, you owe us, don't be a coward. I know you can hear me." Jean screamed at the crystallised girl.

"You killed so many innocent people, so many good soldiers, and now you just get to sleep like a damn baby. No way in hell!" The ghoul growled while lifting her fist to punch the crystal.

She felt someone grab her shoulder and the thief turned her head to glare at the one who tried to disturb her. "That's enough, it's over." Levi said with both hands on Jean and Kaya's shoulders.

The two reluctantly put down their weapons and allowed the section commander to make orders. "Someone get me a net, this thing belongs deep underground." Hange demanded, relieving an 'understood' from their squad.

The thief observed as Erwin was arrested and Mikasa softly spoke to Eren. Kaya normally loved to say 'I told you so' but now was not one of those times, the amber eyed girl wished she was wrong, or at least dreaming of what had unfolded in front of her.

With a face of shock and fury, both Hange and the ghoul stared as Annie was covered and transported to where she assumed was underground. However their attention was drawn to the other scouts who were all stepping away in fear of the wall.

"What the-"

"Guys look."

"What is that."

"It's a titan, in the wall, impossible."

The two ran towards the wall and stared in amazement at what was in front of them, a titan, just short of the colossal was inside the wall, and wasn't moving at all. "Section commander, your orders?" Moblit inquired.

"Uh, well, I'm not sure." Hange stuttered in shock.

"This has got to be some kinda dream right?" The ghoul questioned, hoping that what she was seeing wasn't real.

All the scouts were to mesmerised by their discovery that they didn't notice a man of the church come up behind Hange and grab their shoulder. "Listen to me, whatever else you do, don't let sunlight touch it!" Pasted Nick shouted to the section commander.

The scouts soon complied and grabbed any cloth they could to block out sunlight from hitting the titan, and soon finished to allow Hange to question the priest. "All right, you wanna tell me what's going on? Why a titan? What's the purpose?" Hange asked, but received no answer from Nick. "What on earths the point of having one hidden inside the wall, and why chose to keep it a secret? I need answers and I'm gonna need them right now."

Pasted Nick stood up and dusted himself off. "I don't have time for this nonsense, I'm a busy man, my flock has been devastated. I demand restitution, do you know who I am? Let me down from here this instant." The man of the church demanded.

"If that's what you want, will straight down do the trick?" The titan maniac yelled as they grabbed onto Nicks shirt and dangled him over the edge.

"Commander-" Moblit stuttered, not entirely sure if what Hange was doing was right.

"Hold, if Nick was so content on sacrificing the lives of others to keep his secret, then I'm sure he won't mind giving up his own." Kaya smirked, grabbing Moblits jacket to stop him from interfering.

"Now, let me ask you something, do you have any concept on how many scouts have lay down their lives fighting these monsters? More than you can count. They died fighting for your freedom, and I was with them, I was willing to lay down my own life. Now you can explain, or you take the plunge, your choice, I can always move on to the next blowhard. Matter of fact, they probably know more than you anyway, why am I bothering?" The goggled maniac shouted as they dangled him further over the edge.

"Let go, unhand me." Nick demanded.

"You sure about that?" Kaya said while she walked beside the section commander.

"Do it, you think I'm afraid to die in the service of my belief, we fulfil our duty whatever the cost. I don't care, the lord is my shepherd, let his humble servants fall!" The crazed church member screamed, preparing to die. Hange couldn't form a response, instead, they threw Nick back up the wall and sat on the edge.

"Lighten up, I was just kidding around. Cmon pastor Nick, spill it. Are all the walls filled with titans, at least let me know that much?" Hange sulked. "Wow, how longs it been since I felt like this, must have been when I stepped outside the walls for the first time. Talk about terrifying."

The ghouls ears perked up when she heard the sound of evacuation bells ringing and heard a scout on horse back shout. "The titans have breached wall Rose!"

Hange and Kaya looked at one another and both knew that this was unfortunate timing.
