The Forgotten Element

I woke, and wow, my whole body was aching. I opened my eyes, squinting against the minimal light, I think I was moving? No, I was in something moving. Some kind of vehicle. And wow, that pillow under my head was comfy.

"Hey, how are you doing?" A soft voice asked me.

I looked up to find Kai, and oh my gosh, my head was on his lap.

I sat up as if someone was pulling me on string, my cheeks burning, I was rewarded for the sharp movement with a stab of pain in my stomach. I groaned, grabbing it as a stream of colourful words flew out of my mouth.

I felt a warm hand on my back.

"Slow down. You just had an allergy attack. The woman with brown hair brought you here. What happened?" He asked.

Brown hair?

Oh, Abby.

Feeling dejected, I buried my face into my hands, one of the few people I thought I could trust just betrayed me.

I sat there like that in the moving vehicle, ignoring Kai's questions until we stopped, where some of Chen's cultists put us in shackles and led us inside the palace. By now, the lingering pain from my allergy reaction was bearable.

Great, I never understood the full potential of my powers, and they're now getting taken away.

We were led into a room where more cultists were chanting.

~It was nice knowing you powers.~

"So the ninja were right. This was never about any of us winning any tournament. It was about something more sinister." Griffin realised.

"Wow, you think so?" I sarcastically rolled my eyes.

"What gave it away? Was it the cult following or the giant snake head."  Shade joined in.

I could hear a humming noise looking around. I realised it was Jay.

"Why are you humming?" Kai asked, annoyance evident in his voice. "You do realise they're going to take our powers?"

"Since these cursed shackles are blocking our powers, I've decided to use the power of positive thinking. Lloyd will come save us. You just wait."

"Jay.... Lloyd's just one guy." I said.

"I still have faith in him." Jay obstinately said before going back to humming.

Must be nice to trust someone that much.

The cultists that were walking us tugged on our shackles, causing us to stop. Standing infront of us was Clouse, Skylor and the bitch's face who I was going to smash into the nearest wall. Skylor was looking away in shame.

"Go ahead, look away. But you know as well as I do that after he takes our powers he's going to need yours." Kai said to her.

"You don't understand, my father get whatever he wants." She sounded so sad.

Wait what? Pause and rewind. Did she just call Chen her father? She's lucky that her mom has strong genes.

"Just tell me this; was it his idea to make me fall for you, or was it yours? 'Cause it worked." Skylor gasped, turning away but not quick enough, so I saw her blushing.

I felt a little twinge in my heart. Wow, this allergy attack was really affecting me.

We were forced onto our knees just as someone said;

"All rise for Master Chen."

We were then forced to stand up. Kneel, stand up, pick a side.

Chen came floating down on his thrown. His staff glowing, indicating that he was using the Master of Gravity's power.

"Look at me! I'm floating!" He lost and started  plummeting to the ground, causing his cultists to gasp at the last second he regained control and landed infront of us before getting of his throne. "I've got it! I've got it! I just got distracted by how awesome this place looks! Well done Clouse, you've really set the mode. And look at this! Soon I'll have more power! It's good to be me."

"You may have caught us, but you still don't have the green ninja." Jay said.

"Ah yes, I bet right now he'll swoop down and save you in the last moment and teach me a valuable lesson. Well I'll wait." He jumped back onto his throne. "I like lessons."

"Anyyyy minute now." Jay said.

We all looked around hoping that Lloyd would come in and save us. Jay's positive thinking was rubbing on us quickly. Chen on the other hand didn't even give him 5 seconds.

"That's enough! I'm bored," He jumped of his throne. "But here's a lesson, don't be a sore loser! Only one can remain!"

He aimed his staff at us which promptly started taking our powers. It was done in seconds but I swear it was hours. It felt like someone was reaching inside of me and ripping my powers out of me.

Once the process was done we all sat kneeled down defeated.

"He never came." Jay sadly stated.

We were about to be taken away when Skylor spoke up.

"Father please, spare Kai. I've seen inside his head, he can help us!" She pleaded.

"You like the boy don't you? Very well, leave the red one."

Kai's shackles were taken off before the rest of us were dragged away. Before leaving the room I made a point to spit in the general direction of that backstabbing snake.

We were led through multiple tunnels that twisted and curved so much that I felt sorry for whoever designed this.

The cultists gave us orange jumpsuits as if this was real jail before throwing us into the factory. The ceiling reached so high as ginormous machines puffed away to make food.

"Work." One of them grunted before leaving.

"No no, its not work if you love what you do. The power of positive thinking!" Jay said.

I rolled my eyes and stood next to him infront of us was a big clunky machine which I had no idea what it did.

"Psst."

Me and Jay's head snapped up to see a white Cole and a tin man.

"Cole? Zane? Is that you? You look amazing."

So this is the mysterious Zane.

"Sssssh not so loud, they've thanked we've escaped and don't know we're here." Cole explained.

"Why would you come back?"

"Because were breaking out of here."

"Correction, we're building our way out."  Zane said pointing at what seemed like a jet.

"They think we're fixing the noodle machine but we're making a roto jet." Cole said.

"A jet? Underground?" I raised my eyebrow.

"That's what I've been saying! Also Echo, Zane. Zane, Echo." Cole quickly introduced us.

One of the guards came up to us causing Zane and Cole to hide their faces.

"No talking! And hurry up with that noodle machine!" He demanded.

"Okay, okay. It will be ready soon. When ready noodles will fly out of here." Karloff said from the roto jet as the guard went back to his station.

"Hey, do you know where Kai is?" Cole asked turning back to us.

"Last I heard he's getting the "special" treatment." Jay explained.

"Get back to work!" The same guard commanded.

We all turned back to our work, although i had no clue what I was doing.

"I can't wait to get back home and see Sensei Wu." Zane said striking up a conversation.

"Same here buddy." Cole agreed and Jay nodded.

"What about you Echo? Who are you going home to?" Jay asked.

"I dont know." I confessed.

"Won't you go back to your parents?"

"My parents are dead." I said bluntly.

The other three fell into awkward silence.

^Time skip brought to you by Lloyd screaming because he thought a vine was a snake^

A few long hours later Karloff and I  were watching guard as Jay worked on the roto jet. A guard came towards us, and Karloff whistled a warning so that Jay could put the tarp back over the jet.

I could hear Karloff arguing with guard about how the "noodle machine" wasn't ready, but I was too busy to properly listen because the tarp got stuck, and I was helping Jay fix it.

"Chen defeated the green ninja. Now, no one can stop us." My head snapped up at this piece of information.

Chen beat Lloyd?

How?

"Look on the bright side. All of your jobs just became permanent." The guards voice was getting closer, and the tarp was still stuck.

Tugging it, we managed to get it unstuck just as the guard turned the corner.

"Uh, please, there's still some minor kinks." Karloff said, trying to stop him.

The guard pushed us to the side and pulled down the tarp, revealing our jet.

"Huh? That's not a noodle machine?"

I stood up, dusting myself off.

"Wow, we got Albert Einstein in the house." I muttered.

Karloff smiled. "And that's the kink. Now!"

Cole jumped into the jet and started shooting at the guards, almost hitting the blue ninja in the process.

"Woah, woah, woah. Easy there, tiger." Jay yelled.

"Woah, hehe. When will it fly?" He asked Karloff who jumped onto the wing with a toolbox.

"It will fly when it will fly. No sooner."

"On the other side!" Jay called out as all the elemental masters spun the jet around, so Cole could shoot the guards, and made their way to the door.

"We'll run outta bullets trying to fend them off. Make her fly Karloff or get us out if here."

"No problem press red button." Karloff pointed at the button.

Cole pressed the button and a missile shot out making a huge hole in the door where we all escaped.

We kept on going through the tunnels shooting through walls until we shot through a wall and left the tunnels.

It was here that we found Garmadon and Nya.

After a quick reunion Cole asked a question.

"Karloff why isn't this off the ground?" He gestured to the roto jet.

"Two hands can only work so fast." Karloff shrugged.

"Well you're gonna fix it Karloff, you know why?"

"Positive thinking!" I joined in with the rest of the formerly imprisoned masters.

We soon got back to the jet and started making holes in in the walls again, we went through a wall taking us right to were we wanted to be.

"Anyone order some kung poa?" Cole asked as our entrance.

We started fighting cultists, and someone must have broken Chen's staff because a burst of colour filled the room as all of us got our elemental powers back.

Now we really started fighting back. The ninja all gathered together and shouted something before somehow turning into tornadoes.

We soon defeated the cultists, but Chen Clouse and Abby were nowhere to be seen and they had taken Skylor, who had come over to our side.

We tied up the cultists outside.

The Masters were all in groups, and the ninjas were together. I sat on a step on my own, savouring the peace.

A shadow fell on me, and I looked up to see Lloyd.

"Hey. If you're looking for sweets, I sadly don't have any." I said, smiling.

"Actually, I'm here to ask you something." He flopped down next to me. "Jay told me that your parents aren't here anymore, and we came up with an idea and ran it past the others, and they're fine with it, you don't have to if you don't want to. We understand. But maybe -"

"Lloyd, what is it?"

"Do you want to become a ninja, I know we just met you, but you seem to fit perfectly in with us."

"Ummm."

This was such a big decision. Keep my life the way it is or shake it up a lot.

"You don't have to answer now. Take your time to properly go over it." He rummaged in his pocket and pulled out two lollipops and offered on to me, and we turned to watch everyone else.
