When Markus declared his love to Nina:

Markus closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around Nina in a hug. He wished things could be easy he wished he could keep Nina safe all the time but he couldn't. He felt like he needed to leave Nina, but hearing her plead to him made him stop. He was just causing worse pain by doing this to Nina, how could he leave her now? He was so indecisive, hugging her and not letting her go. He wanted time to stop. He wanted everything to just stop so he could think things out properly, but things didn't work that way. What was best for Nina? He couldn't think about what he wanted, he could deal with the pain if it meant she was safe. Was she safer with or without him? "You have nothing to be sorry for, don't blame yourself." He whispered in her ear, still not letting go as he hugged her. "I can learn. I can learn how to help you more. Nina all I ever want is for you to be happy and safe. I can't always protect you, but I know that I will always try. I am sorry for ever making you feel bad about yourself, I was being selfish. Nina, you are my world, the only one in my life that has ever cared about me. You shouldn't ever have to blame yourself because of my selfishness, you don't deserve it. What you deserve is to be happy and cared for, to never be hurt again. I can't promise you'll never get hurt again, but I can protect you to the best of my ability. I will do whatever it takes to protect you and make you happy Nina, because you deserve the world and more." He stopped for a second and pulled himself together, he couldn't let her see him cry, not now. "Nina, I love you."
