One pm? You know what it's time for part 2: Logan boogaloo

Welcome to the fourteenth rewritten chapter!

Logan was on his way to check up on Patton. Just to make sure he was doing his job accordingly. When he passed Virgil's room he heard muffled screaming and desperate yells for help. He didn't even hesitate before slamming the door open. The sight of his friend sitting tied up by the chair made him gasp from shock.

He looked around for the nearest sharp object "Who did this to you?" He asked as he began to cut his friend lose.

"Deceit" Virgil growled out. His voice was hoarse from screaming.

Logan stopped for a moment. He couldn't wrap his head around why his lo- Deceit would do such a thing. He couldn't imagine that the same side who held his hand and drowsily feel asleep mumbling about 'his precious LoLo' the night before would do this.

"W...Why?" He finally got out.

Virgil looked away. He opened his mouth before quickly closing it again. He bit his lip in thought. He didn't want to say it. Didn't want anyone to know about his past......but if he didn't say anything then Deceit could continue to manipulate his family. He would rather be cast out than let anyone hurt them.

He looked at Logan again. Anxious miscolored eyes meeting stressed dark blue. "I used to be a dark side"

"You..." Logan nearly took a step back. He cut off the last piece of rope to give himself time to think "I must admit, that is quite the surprise. I did always wonder where you came from actually. My theory was that you were some sort of middle ground. Apparently not"

"I'm sorry. So sorry. I just- I was so afraid-"

Logan gently placed his hand on Virgil's shoulder "It is okay. I understand why you hid it. I still see you as my dear friend and I am delighted that you decided to join us"

Virgil let out a breathe of relief "Thanks L. I really really appreciate that"

"No problem. Besides I have begun to think that mayhaps this whole light and dark system of dividing sides has become quite old fashioned and unecessary" He thought about Janus. About how much he liked being around him even if he was a dark side. About how much more time he could spend with him if it wasn't for the fact that he was a dark side.

The emo stood up from the chair and motioned for the other side to sit down instead "You might wanna sit down for this one bud 'cause I got other shit to tell you"

He told him everything he knew about the plan. About how Deceit had been lying the whole time to get closer to them. How he'd manipulated and used them. How the dark sides had tried to trick Virgil into going through with the exact same mission long before.

With every world Logan felt colder and colder on the inside. How stupid could he have been. To think anyone would actually want to listen to him, to be with him, if it wasn't for their own gain. Finally Janus being so nice to him made sense.

Speaking of the snake.

Janus rose up into the middle of the room. He had an empty look in his eyes and his hands were clenched into fists. On his neck a red bite mark could be seen.

He stared at Virgil as he began to walk towards him. He didn't say anything but his expression of pure rage said enough. He took a rough grasp around the traitor's neck and pushed him up against the wall.

"De- Dee- Why- I-" Virgil choked out between desperate breathes. He saw the red mark on his neck and instantly knew. Rage had caused this.

The hands tighetened until he couldn't breathe at all. Just like Rage had done to him so many times. It was what the traitor deserved. It was what the traitor deserved. It was what th-

"YOU!" Logan said with more emotion than he'd ever said before.

It startled Janus so much he let up on his grip, if only by a little. He glanced back at his love, the thing in his way.

"Just as I theorized. You really were working for the dark sides" Logan continued "With all your injuries and sneaking off it was obvious really. Your manipulation is the reason I have nearly experienced feelings. It is the only logical explanation. You have been leading me astray to get more control over me you mischiveous reptilian. You are one disgusting spineless man"

The anger nearly disappeared. It got crushed under all the sudden despair. He looked at Logan, unable to say anything. His hands shook so much he completely let go of Virgil who slumped down on the ground with a huff.

It felt like his heart had been ripped in two. He wanted to pull Logan close. He wanted to kiss him until he'd forgotten all about his mistakes. But he couldn't. Of course he couldn't. Rage was right, the light sides would never truly trust him.

He did the only thing he could do. He lost himself in the anger once more and lied.

"Well yes of course darling. You were nothing more than a puppet to me. Did you really believe that anyone could love someone as cold and heartless like you" He forced himself to laugh "Your idiocy is almost cute"

Virgil pulled him by his cape to stop him "I won't just stand here and let you insult My friend. Back the fuck off or I will punch you!"

"I would love to see you try but I doubt you will ever succeed at something you try"

"Face it Deceit. You can't win this. Why don't you just run home to where you belong" Virgil bit off.

Their arguing had alerted the other light sides. Roman barged into the room with Patton following shortly behind.

"Kiddos what's going on?" Patton asked in a nervous tone.

"Oh thank the stars you're here. Anxiety is accusing me of working with the dark sides!" Janus replied in his most innocent tone while doing puppy eyes.

"That's ridicolous!....right?" Roman said. He didn't know who to believe.

"The opposite actually. From what evidence I have been able to gather Virgil seems to be correct" Logan explained.

He looked down at the floor while saying it. If he looked at Deceit he knew his emotionless mask would shatter. He couldn't belive all that time spent together was all lies. A means to an end. A part of him still wanted Janus to turn around and say it was all a misunderstanding. That he of course would stay here with his dearest Logan.

Roman immediatly summoned his sword and painted it towards Deceit. Patton mumbled something about how this couldn't be true. A smile formed on Virgil's lips.

Janus couldn't care less about the threat of the sword or the other sides. All he cared about was what Logan thought about him. The fact that his love only saw him as a villain again made the rage inside of him burn brighter.

"FINE! Yes! It was all lies! How stupid can you all seriously be? My name is literally Deceit! You all need to lower your expections of how much a person can grow or else it will be too easy to destroy every single one of you!"

"Get out of here you foul villain!" Roman yelled while moving the sword closer to his neck.

"Oh honey" Deceit looked him dead in the eyes "Don't try to look strong. I know exactly how weak you really are. You could never actually hurt anyone expect for yourself"

Roman pushed him down on the floor so Deceit landed harshly on his back. All the light sides surronded him. Everyone except for Logan who stayed leaned against the wall. The sword was pressed to his neck.

"Guys guys we can't just force Deceit to go back to the dark sides. They hurted him!" Patton exclaimed referring to the black eye he had when he first got there. The dad was nervously bouncing on his feet.

"Padre you must stop letting your emotions rule you. It was all a ploy. Those dark sides are all a bird of a feather"

Janus let out a low laugh "All dark sides huh? Does that include Anxiety too? Surely you must have suspected something by now. Anxiety is one of us!"

The shocked and horrified expressions on Roman's and Patton's faces was all he needed to feel satisfied. The tears filling Virgil's eyes was the cheery on top, he already looked close to a panic attack.

"I won't be back and I will not succeed!" Was the last thing Janus said before sinking out.

A tense silence filled the room. Virgil didn't want to look at anyone. Shame was filling his throat till it felt like he was going to vomit.

"..K..Kiddo..You...You're a dark side?" Patton stuttered out. He held his hand out towards his kiddo but didn't touch him.

"N-not anymore. I swear" He sobbed out "Not anymore. I didn't- I don't want to be one of them. I'm not like them. I promise. Please. I-I-"

"Oh shut up you villain!" Roman pointed his sword towards Virgil "Once a dark side. Always a dark side. You can't change that!"

Virgil stared at the sword while hyperventilating. "I-I" His devil's tounge took over "I'm not a dark side!"

"Sure because that doesn't sound like something a dark side would say. Maybe you're still working for them and everything! Huh? Are you?" Roman moved closer until Virgil had pressed himself close to the wall.

"Kiddo" Patton placed his hand on Roman's shoulder "You're going too hard on him. I'm sorry Virgil but...I..we need time..it's a lot to think through"

All Virgil wanted was for his dad to hug and tell him they all accepted him. Instead Patton left, he forced Roman with him so he wouldn't continue with his threats.

Once they were gone Virgil completely broke down. He sat down on the ground and pulled his knees up to his chest. He hid his face behind his hands and cried.

Logan sat down next to him and leaned his head on his shoulder to try and comfort him. Virgil pulled him into a hug. He held onto his friend as if it was the only thing keeping him there. His entire body was shaking as he let out ugly sobs.

It went a long while before either of them said anything "Deceit is not a bad person" Logan finally mumbled out.

"He's a horrible monster. He did this to me. H-he used you!" Virgil hissed out.

Logan didn't want to accept any of it "I should withdraw from here. I suspect your room is affecting me" His voice didn't waver at all but a few lone tears rolled down his cheeks.

"Just stay a bit longer. I think this is what you need"
