It may have taken a while because of impromptu make out session and burst of laugh attacks from happiness but Logan and Ethan arrived at the door that lead back to the light side of the mindscape.

Deceit tugged at his husband's arm making them stop. "I need an energy boost before I have to deal with more social interaction" He said doing puppy eyes....snake eyes? He did snake puppy eyes. Logan arched his back down slightly kissing his husband "Energy boost completed, thank you" He said bleeping.

"You are more clingy than Roman" Lo sighed.

He got a loud dramatic gasp in response "How can you insult me! Your favorite person in the world like this" He exclaimed putting a hand to his forehead while they walked through the door.

Before he could reply with something snarky a hand landed on each of their shoulder and a loud "BOO" came from behind them.

Deceit jumped away like a frightened cat and hissed, Logan just stood there. He should get better reflexes honestly. Roman who had been the one to scare them laughed, pretending to wipe away a tear when he was finished.

"I heard you were talking about me. It's understandable really, I'm just that good looking" He said combing his fingers through his hair.

"...Sure, that is definitely what we spend our free time talking about"

"Indeed. Every day is appreciating-how-handsome-the-idiot-is-day" Logan added dryly.

"Ok Ok I get it. Stop making fun of me, I'm sensitive!" Roman exclaimed holding his arms up in his usual pose.

"Trust me. It is quite obvious you do not have to say it" He replied fixing his glasses.

"Did you two eat salt for breakfast or something. I deserve better than this" Roman huffed posing his usual pose. He lit up in a grin putting his hands on Deceit's shoulders and nudging him towards the kitchen "Aaaanyway don't we have something better to do"

"Like a surprise?" He rhetorically asked.

"Who snitched!?"

"Envy"

"Of course that....I don't know enough about him to give him a good nickname dammit" Roman sighed putting a hand over his heart and looking dramatically away into the distance. "I must learn about him to truly perfect my craft of funny nicknames!"

"Speaking of surprises" Deceit held up the hand with the ring on in front of the prince's face with a grin.

Ro's eyes widened and a big smile appeared on his lips "Holy Andrew Lloyd Webber you mad lad actually did it" Ethan nodded rapidly looking like he was holding back a squeal. 

"You knew about this too??" Logan asked seriously starting to question who between him and his husband would be best to start a secret spy mission without the other noticing.

"Yeh. I truly was the ultimate double agent in all of this" The prince replied with a boastful tone.

"Too bad you don't have your own prince" The snake said with a smirk.

"I am working on it damnit! Crankysnakeplays and this comes from down deep in my soul. Go suck a duck" 

"Gladly"

Virgil was already sitting at the kitchen table when they came in. He barely looked up from his phone only doing a peace sign when he noticed them. The prince went over and pulled his hands around The emo's shoulders and rested his chin on top of his head.                                      Patton came in shortly after humming a little to himself. In his hand he held friendship bracelets he had made for everyone. He gave them to Ro and Virge.

He fiddled with his hands looking down nervously into the ground as he handed one over to Logan. 

"No thank you" He said waving the bracelet away. The logical side was at this point more angry at Patton than Ethan was.

The dad took a deep breath asking "Are you happy with him?" Referring to Dee.

"Yes" He replied without hesitation. Dee took his husband's hand trying to lessen the tension in the air.

"Good, then I'm happy for you" Patton said sincerely "I'm sorry, to both of you really" He held up  1 navy and 1 yellow bracelet "Sooo wanna have a friendship bracelet?" He said with with a hopeful smile.

"Well don't mind if I do" Ethan said putting it on and showing it off to his love. "I've totally had one of these before"

"Fine" Logan grumbled taking it. "I suppose that I should say thank you..." He added and then just stopped. He was done there.

They sat down at the table and the snake started to get a little uncomfortable as everyone looked at him. Logan placed his hand on the other man's knee to reassure him everything was alright since he knew Deceit could still easily get nervous when everyone was around.

"Is the surprise that you're going to offer me to the shadow demon" He said.

"Not today" Virgil replied adding with a wishful look in his eyes "But the demons are always out there, I can still find my dream partner" Which was followed by offended princey noises(tm).

Roman drummed his fingers against the table saying excitedly "Do you, you crusty snake boi by any chance know what day it is today"

"uuuuuhhh Sunday??"

"Wrong! It's Bitchmas! Just kidding, that was a joke, please laugh, someone, anyone, please laugh" No one laughed. "It's national snake day!" Roman held his arms out extravagantly. "And do you know what we do on national snake day"

Logan pressed a kiss to Ethan's cheek "We give love and attention to wonderful snakes like you" 

Deceit hid his face in his hands to hide the blushing spreading across his cheeks. "You all are going to kill me"

"No that's the shadow demons job" Virgil said leaning forward and patting his friend on the shoulder. Ethan smiled at him. "I mean we never really celebrated birthdays or anything at the dark sides so this could kind of like be yours I guess"

"YOU NEVER HAD WHAT?" Patton exclaimed "I must make your next birthday the absolute best!"

The prince did extravagant jazz hands to get everyone's attention "Look closely as I use my amazingly cool creative powers to summon the dinner" He moved his hands over the table in a way a wizard probably would do but nothing appeared "Sorry I used a lot of creativity last night" He chuckled. On the second try food appeared.

A plate of chicken salad with extra eggs for Dee since he knew he liked that and a few raisins sprinkled on top for Virgil. Logan only got a jar of crofters. There appeared a plate in front of the empty spot between the snake and Roman were the side that currently wasn't there was supposed to sit.

There was a quiet woosh sound and suddenly Envy was standing leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He had a resigned look on his face. "KIDDO!" Patton exclaimed standing up and pulling him into a tight hug.

The man in green gulped "Co..could you not touch me?" He didn't like being touched by people he didn't trust anymore and right now the list of people he trust consists of exactly one.

"Oh sorry. Tell me if you ever need a good ol dad hug" He smiled before sitting down again. Envy continued to stand awkwardly in the middle of the room until Patton asked "Aren't you going to sit down?" pointing at the only empty chair.

"I uh thought I wasn't ehm never-mind" He hesitated before sitting down leaning closer to Deceit .

"Grand! Now we can finally eat this! I am practically starving, my stomach sounds like the beast's roars!" Roman groaned putting his hand to his forehead.

"I literally saw you shove a cake slice into your mouth 20 minutes ago" Virgil said with a snarky tone.

"Wait shit sorry. You waited for me? You shouldn't have I mean I-" Envy started to ramble holding his hands up.

"Of course we did" The dad reassured "You're part of the famILY now!" He smiled but it slightly faltered when his eyes meet with Deceit's. A little quieter he added "You too Ethan" 

Patton threw over the last friendship bracelet to Envy who held it in his palm and stared at it before blurting out "Thank you" He hesitantly put it on before putting his Deceit's waist and pressed his face into his shoulder to hide the tears of happiness welling up in his eyes.

Logan put down his spoon since he had already finished the crofters in exactly 3 minutes and 43 seconds. New record. "Thomas listened to this wonderful podcast about moons this last Thursday" He began "So does anyone wish to hear about the science of tidal waves and the orbital schedule of the earth's moon?"

"Oh please do bore us to death teach" Roman replied with around 4 pieces of lettuce in his mouth.

"Only if you include aliens in it somehow" Virgil said.

"What the fuck is a orbital schedule and can I steal it?" Envy added on waving around his knife in the direction of the side he was talking to.

"I would love to hear it darling" Dee murmured leaning against his hand and looking up at the nerd with a look filled with love.

After dinner they all decided to have a movie night because is it really a famILY night without some binge watching. No. The answer  is no. No further discussion.

Logan sat down as close to the end as possible leaning against the head rest. Ethan snuggled up to him, putting his head on his chest and his body between his legs (in a cutesy way).

Deceit looked around at the other sides. Envy was ranting to Roman about something with an excited grin on his face while waving his hands around. Virgil leaned on the prince looking relaxed in the company of the other sides. Patton was putting on 'Lilo & Stitch'. His heart warmed when he saw all of his kiddos being happy.

The snake sighed nuzzling closer to Logan. He actually felt like he belonged here. Like he could continue living here without being worry or fear.  Lo took of his glasses so he could press a few kisses to his scaled cheek

"My wonderful husband" he sighed kissing him "I love you"

"Love you too
