Kid Flash: B03

   Artemis looked up from the arrow she was polishing to see Wally step through the zeta tube, "Hey, Baywatch, why-" she was interrupted by a growl from Wally, "Stop calling me that. Leave me alone." And with that, he zoomed off to his room.

     M'gann and Kaldur, who had both seen the exchange while watching a movie together on the couch, glanced at each other, baffled by their friend's strange behavior.

      "What the hell was that about?" Artemis gripped her arrow tightly and looked questioning at Kaldur. Kaldur simply shrugged, "We all have off days. Maybe our friend was simply upset from a previous event." Kaldur returned his attention to the TV screen and M'gann shrugged, apparently agreeing with the team's leader.

      Determined to figure out what had gotten into her annoying teammate, Artemis put her now polished arrow into her quiver before storming out of the room. The echoes of her boots slamming down on the cold floor reverberated through the hallways as she made her way to Baywatch's room.

       Once she reached it, she balled her hand into a fist and lifted her arm and drew in a breath, about to knock and shout at Wally. But something stopped her. A noise. Loud noises. And voices. And...crying?

      The archer jumped when she heard-and felt- something large being knocked to the ground. That was followed by another thud and then a crashing sound; more than likely his lamp. Next came a voice.

      "Stupid Iris! She never cared! Nobody cares!" Another crashing sound, "All she cares about is her self!" Another thud, "Why can't she understand?! I'm not perfect! I'm still human!" Another thud. But this time, it wasn't furniture. It was a body.

   OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo

    Wally fell to his knees, no longer holding any tears back. His head fell into his hands, then his entire body fell onto his side. He curled into a ball, sobbing.

     I'm so sorry mom...dad...I failed you...I'm  the reason you're dead...Aunt Iris doesn't care about me...I miss you...

      Wally, now struggling to breath properly, was feeling an unbearable amount of guilt. He felt that it was his fault his parents were dead, and that aunt Iris didn't care. About him. He knew she was drunk earlier...she hid it well, but Wally could smell the strong odor of alcohol. He could smell it on her breath since the day his parents died. But it didn't take away the pain, guilt, and dark thoughts that clouded his fragile mind.

        Now he wasn't think properly, his rationality long gone. He grabbed a shard of broken glass from the mirror he'd punched earlier. Gripping the sharp glass in his trembling hand, he looked at himself in the shard and whispered, "I deserve to die..."

  OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo

     "I deserve to die..." Artemis let her hand fall to her side and took off running, fear gripping her heart, "HELP! ROBIN!" She ran faster than she ever had before, desperately trying to make it to Robin before Wally...the archer shuttered.

        This had happened before. Two times before. Both times, Wally tried to kill himself out of guilt and Robin was the only who could talk him out of it.

        "ROBIN!" Artemis tripped and rolled and tumbled right in front of robins door. The boy wonder's door slid open and he took one glance at Artemis' terrified face before gasping and taking off down the hall.

       Not again, Wally...please, hang in there...
