Thing were going well,

until,

he had the most
random melt down

He knew it was coming

but he didn't know it would come
now

Lunch time,
he's on the rooftop
legs close to his chest
head down
hands into fists

drip

drip
drip

He feels
someone shift
right next to him

This person does not move

He does not look up,
until his tears dry

He feels comfort
He feels reassured
by this person

simply because they're present

He lifts his head
and looks at his side

She simply smiles

He stares at her,
disbelief present in his eyes

"I thought you needed company,"
she says, with that gentle voice of hers

Her soft, comforting green eyes
oppose his sad hazel ones

He felt obliged to
reply to her

But she dismissed him,

"Speak when you're ready.
I'll just be here, okay?"
she smiles once more

He nods, proceeding
to put his head back down

He feels her warmth

He feels at ease

For the first time in a while,

He feels okay
